I really dig the holidays.  I love to listen to the music, put up decorations, think about the days when I was a kid and we did all sorts of things for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  This might look like a Christmas-centric picture to some folks, but my family made decorating the Christmas tree a part of Thanksgiving Day instead.  We'd do that while the food was cooking and we'd go over what we found really interesting all the time.  Not as dorky as 'what are you thankful for?' but more like 'This is something I learned to do in recent months that I'm proud of.'

I'm not a fan of religions, I admit.  But for me, the holidays and family have little to do with that.

Move to Australia! Where Christmas is in the middle of Summer! :D

Also, it lacks much in the way of religious connotations here. :P

Christmas has nothing to do with religion in America, either. It's just a corporate holiday meant to bring people together by separating them from their money and common sense. Just YouTube any random Black Friday video.

Thanks Giving? Whats that?
I only know of Halloween, Christmas and Valintines day. XD

Seriouly though it is nice just to hear the word thanks giving. Not a single shoping center, tv show or anyone really knows of the meaning of thanks giving other than turkey and stuffing.
Thanks to america's addiction to SHOPPING Thanksgiving is meaningless.. =/ sad really.

Almost a form of neo-Impressionism going on here, with just lots of brush strokes and no linework. Great coloring job on this one.
Well, my parents are of such advanced age that they don't lay out a quarter of the holiday decorations that they used to. This will be their second year without a full-sized tree...ever. I myself put up five Christmas trees in my house last year, or various incarnations thereof. I will be repeating this feat again.
Also the gift-giving: lots less of that than in days of yore. Fuck holiday shopping.

I agree on the last point.. it's much the same for me. Despite many of our holidays and traditions stemming from religion, I find they've grown into the point religion tries to send home in the first place.. and have graduated from a strict relationship to that said religion. Spending time with our families and close friends are what they're meant for. Taking the time to pull the wool away from our eyes to sit around and do.. whatever we like for the sheer sake of having a good time.. that's what drives the holidays. No work, no school, just what we enjoy most. Holiday seasons are awesome, Thanksgiving is always something I look forward to, mainly because it's a big family gathering and we all have a good time.
