Stage 2: Anger
Shadow was already up eating breakfast while Sonic returned to Earth Realm again, for some reason he did not know. Shadow had just finished but suddenly he got a vision, He saw like a portal or something, "Get over here!" yelled the voice, Shadow was confused, "What is this?" he asked. The gate keeper reappeared next to Shadow after the small vision, "Uh? What are you doing here?" asked Shadow, "Shadow I need to speak with you" he said pointing at Shadow, "What is that is so important you have to tell?" asked Shadow, "I shouldn't tell you and mostly I don't care either but your dreams are visions" said the gate keeper. Shadow knew it he knew himself more than anyone in the entire world, "Shadow the visions you have been having is from someone who needs you in this moment" said the gate keeper, "Needs me? Who exactly?" asked Shadow, "You must come to the "Gate of souls" and search for him before the darkness consumes him because if it does it will take him straight to hell" said the gate keeper. "Who is he?" asked Shadow again, "If I tell you it be to much information but your dreams won't leave you alone and it will turn them into nightmares if you don't do something" said the gate keeper he disappear like dust out of nowhere, "Tick tok Shadow, tick tok" the wind send those words from the gate keeper to Shadow. Rouge was now going inside the kitchen and saw Shadow there sitting and not moving, "Shadow are you alright? Did you finish your breakfast?" she asked. Shadow return to reality and looked at Rouge, "Yes you can take my plate now" said Shadow, Rouge took his plate but before she left, she started to have a conversation. "I heard from Sonic about your dreams and how you showed him last night that you were feeling better" said Rouge, "I'm fine really, I'm just going to leave for a while I need to go somewhere" said Shadow he got up from his chair, "Wait aren't you going to tell just incase Sonic comes back?" asked Rouge, "I'm sure I will be back as soon as possible, I won't take too long" said Shadow, "Okay then" said Rouge she left with Shadow's dirty plates to wash them, Shadow was going to the "Gate of souls" that the gate keeper told him but to get there he has to go through the path leading to Outworld. He walked there ignoring everything on his way and made it the gate, he looked around but didn't saw the Gate keeper, Shadow cross his arms, "Is this some kind of trap?" Shadow though. A different gate appear not far and it opened, but that one wasn't silver it was like a bronze gate, Shadow went inside the bronze gate. He saw the wall it seemed like they were built with the skeleton of the people who died, Shadow saw one skull that grabbed his attention he reached to the wall and grabbed it pulling it out. It was the skull of Jules, Sonic's father he still remember the day he killed him unfairly. Shadow sigh looking at it, he placed it back where he found it he also notice the one next to them was Manic's and Sonia's skulls. "Came to see the skulls of your family in law? asked the gate keeper going next to him, "No just sometimes I wish, I had change before all this happened and maybe Jules would have still be alive and Sonic's siblings as well" said Shadow, "Yes the feeling of regret is strong if you think about too much, but things were meant to go that way" said the gate keeper. "Yes I killed a innocent soul and I still wonder if they live with the desire of having revenge for what I did?" asked Shadow, "Not really, if that would have been true Jules and his son wouldn't be in heaven right now, there just fine and happy as long as you treat Sonic okay they forgive you" said the gate keeper he walked over a a big pool of souls, "What is this?" asked Shadow looking inside, "This are the pits of despair people who are here go through the 5 stages of sorrow if they manage to suced each one they may go to heaven or even be giving a second chance" said the gate keeper, "So there not heaven but neither in hell?" asked Shadow, "Exactly it's like there in war with themselves in a solitary place most of them scene sadness but one is in deep anger and can only stay in it" said the gate keeper, "I just want to know who this persons is" said Shadow, "I can not tell you it's against the law if I do but it's someone you know that is a total stranger" said the gate keeper. Shadow didn't understand him, someone he knew but was a stranger to him. "How can I help him if I don't even know who he is?" asked Shadow, "No but you can help him easily" said Knuckles, ".......... Then take me to him" said Shadow, the gate keeper threw some kind of dust and there in the pool opened a portal to somewhere it was a dark place the trees haven't floarish and the group looked cold, "In there you will find the one your looking for, just jump inside and it will all start as soon as your job is done you will return" said the gate keeper pointing at the pool. Shadow though about it he looked again and heard a voice that was familiar, "Get over here!""Hahaha though you get away didn't you!" those voices send a chill over Shadow he jumped inside the portal sending him to the place.
Shadow landed on the dark place he saw, he realized something this was Edenia when he first took over the place he had destroy everything with his guards. Knuckles rebuild the hole kingdom and then gave it to him. Shadow looked around he did not like the look of the place for what he knew, Shadow reached for his swords on his back but they were gone, nothing, his weapons were all gone. "Think you get you get away didn't you?!" yelled someone, Shadow was startle as the voice was heard close and it seemed like a echo, "What is this?!" yelled Shadow, "You won't get away this time" Shadow looked around till he saw a shadow heading his way unexpected what he found, it was him, "Rain?" asked Shadow. Rain looked different from before he had chains wrapped up in his arms and legs they were filled with blood and also he had a big hole on his chest witch was the one Sonic made to kill him, "Rain?!" asked Shadow again, Rain just continue to approach him and tried to kick Shadow's face, Shadow blocked his foot with a hand and moved away, "What happen to you?!" asked Shadow, "I'll rip your head off!" yelled Rain trying to punch Shadow but Shadow dodge each attack Rain did to try and hit him. "Shadow he is consumed by his anger" the gate keepers said through Shadow's mind, "Rain stop!" yelled Shadow, "Look at me! You did this to me!" yelled Rain he grabbed Shadow by the neck and threw him agains the floor, "Ugh! Rain" Shadow got up, "You though I forget like how you forgot me" said Rain, "Forgot you?" asked Shadow, "You are nothing now but a scar in my memory!" said Rain. "Rain don't say that when we have the same blood" said Shadow, "You come to care now that we share the same DNA! You didn't though about that years ago!" yelled Rain. Rain tried to punch him again but Shadow grabbed his arm, "How many times do I have to tell you I didn't knew" said Shadow, "Your words mean $#*+ to me" said Rain he punch Shadow in the muzzle. Shadow lost a bit of blood since he bit himself, "Fine go ahead! Beat me up all you want, you'll just be here in the same place you've always been" said Shadow, "You don't know what I have been through!" yelled Rain, "And neither have you, face it Rain you don't know me as much as I don't know you so let it go!" yelled Shadow. Rain charged at him punching his chest making Shadow fall backwards, "SHUT THE #€££ UP!" yelled Rain, Shadow got up with more difficulty, "Rain I'm trying to help you" said Shadow, "By reminding me why I am here" said Rain his words seemed softer, Shadow started at him, Rain lowered his ear, behind that anger was a deep sorrow. "No Rain I can help you, get out of here" said Shadow, Rain just stared at him taking a step back, "How do I know you won't abandon me?" asked Rain, "Because we are in this together" he said. Rain wasn't sure but he nod lightly letting Shadow know he was with him. "Where are we exactly?" asked Shadow, "In my anger we need to find a way to get somewhere else" said Rain, "Well this place looks like a forever lasting desert" said Shadow he looked at Rain's bloody chains, he approached Rain grabbing his arm trying to pull the chain off, "What are you doing?" asked Rain, "Trying to get these off, aren't you uncomfortable with this?" asked Shadow, "No Shadow they don't come off until the final observation" said Rain, "Oh, then we should get going" said Shadow he started walked, "Your going the wrong way" said Rain, "Wait you know the way?" asked Shadow, "Yeah kind off" said Rain, "Then why did you stay here if you can go ahead?" asked Shadow, "What would be the point of going through all that? when in the end your left with nothing" said Rain. Shadow looked into Rain's eyes they were white like his nothing to see in them, but Shadow looked at him as if he was looking at himself in a mirror, "There is always something" said Shadow, Rain started to walk to the right direction being followed by Shadow. A long way it seemed to be, they keep walking threw the dead place until they made it to a place were the ground was green from the grass everything was different and beautiful, they seemed to be in some sort of jungle it seemed they stop in front of waterfall puddle. Rain sat on a rock, "Tired?" asked Shadow, "No just no where else to go" said Rain, "What do you mean?" asked Shadow, "The other stage hasn't opened till we discover this one" said Rain, "What is there to discover? This is a jungle" said Shadow, "There are just some things we have to regain ourselves, "Alright then what is this stage I don't understand" said Shadow. "Here Shadow you must spend time with your brother and understand each other in a way" said the gatekeeper, "Uh you mean get along?" asked Shadow, "Who are you talking to?" asked Rain, "Oh no one just though I heard something" said Shadow he sat to the rock that was not too far from Rain. They sat there for a while and waited, till Shadow broke the silence, "Rain why are those stab marks there?" asked Shadow, Rain looked at his stab on his chest and then return his attention to him, "Your husband gave me this marks" said Rain, "I know but they look like they were made minutes ago when really that was about 2 mounths ago" said Shadow, "Everything here is like that, you don't get cured nor more hurt it's like a limit" said Rain, "Ohhh I see but does it still hurt?" asked Shadow, "No" answered Rain. Shadow looked at it, well he felt a bit bad for Rain yet again he wanted to kill him but he notice something about him now Rain seemed a bit calmed he doesn't look like he is wondering more like waiting for something. But he was so silent, Shadow didn't understand how he could get along better with Rain if he doesn't even say a coment about anything, "Not much of a talker are you?" asked Shadow, Rain looked over at Shadow but still silent, "Well not most of my time, I barely talked to anyone before" said Rain, "How come?" asked Shadow, "My little family wasn't much of a close one, my stepmother and stepfather were barely around and as for my stepbrother he left one day to find his own kingdom instead he ruled his grandpas kingdom that he had left" said Rain, "Oh so what did you do?" asked Shadow, Rain looked away from him, "After I discover a secret I began to search for him" said Rain, "For who?" asked Shadow, Rain looked at him with that look he notice who Rain refer to witch was him, "Oh yeah" he said. Rain stood up for a moment and left, Shadow sigh, "Not as easy as it looks?" asked the gatekeeper, "How can I get along with him if everything we talk about leans us to a painful memory?" asked Shadow, "That is a thing you must find out yourself" said the gatekeeper. Shadow looked up at the sky seen it was turning from a clear blue to a nice orange color. It made Shadow fell better the wind blowing and the water puddle seemed to fill up more it was night time, and Rain haven't returned. Shadow got up and went to look for him, Shadow had found him quicker than he though, Rain was laying on the grass looking up at the stars, Shadow went over to him, Rain looked next to him, "Uh?" he saw Shadow unexpected. "Mind if I joined you?" asked Shadow, "Go ahead" said Rain, Shadow lied next to him, "So is this something you do very often?" asked Shadow, "It had been a long time since I saw a night sky like this one" said Rain. Shadow was looking at the sky many things about it was impressive and so was it beautiful. "This may sound a bit childish but have you ever made a constellation before?" asked Shadow, "Yes indeed I have" said Rain, "Think you can find one faster than I can?" asked Shadow, "Well" he said meaning that he might, "Alright then let's make one 1 2 3" said Shadow, "Done" said Rain, "Well that was fast" said Shadow. Rain chuckled a bit, "Where?" asked Shadow, "There see those 5 points in the middle?" Rain pointed in the sky, "Yeah?" said Shadow, "Now look at the 4 points that are in each side of that circle and unite the others on the lower part and now tell me, what you see?" asked Rain, "I see......... A imagine that has a shape like mine, well I mean ours since we are identical" said Shadow, "Yes we are but yet so different" said Rain, Shadow looked over at Rain, "Have you ever though about how our lives would have been?.... I mean if our parents haven't giving us away because of the danger?" asked Rain, "Well Rain I don't know what really happened but yeah I kind off do" said Shadow, "And what do you?" asked Rain, "I see two brothers trying to get along but always end up fighting" chuckled Shadow, Rain smiled and taped his shoulder lighting "Very funny" he said. "Hey well at least I got to make you smile" said Shadow, Rain keep looking at the stars, "Well at least maybe all I needed" said Rain.
