Well I recently started getting into the Dragon Age series and well I've gotten some ideas for characters and well Letrin here was the first. ^^

It was early in the day during the month of Justinian. The weather was fair with a few clouds hanging in the air. Letrin walked an old dirt path. He'd recently made a pass by Kirkwall and helped spirit away a few young Apostates and their families. Some of the Elves among them had opted to join a Dalish clan Letrin knew would take them. He was glad to be well away from the city. The place never felt right to him and he'd heard stories about Knight Commander Meredith disturbed him. His own experience with fleeing Apostates had lead him to believe much of it were true and that some of it might even be understatements. Letrin was a Dalish Elf of the world. He was a "Wondering Scholar" as he liked to call it. He went from place to place investigating rumors of Elven heritage and transcribed what he figured out. Occasionally he'd have artifacts sent to other clans. Of course his role went beyond that. He and others like him would give their advice on the situation with the other races at the Arlathvhen every ten years. Beyond that being a Mage himself Letrin also took upon himself the task of helping other Mages whatever their species whenever he could. A fire burned within him on this topic. He at best tolerated the Chantry and at worst wanted to kill every zealotous member he could route out. If emotion helped to fuel Magic perhaps this was why Letrin never had to consider blood magic. Of course the group of Templars that walked from the opposite direction towards him likely wouldn't make any distinction. Letrin gave his staff a twist and pulled the top half out revealing the blade built into it.

"Apostate you are under Arrest for Aiding in the flight of numerous Apostates and the deaths of multiple Templars. Surrender yourself now and we won't make this difficult." Said one who walked forward confidently.

"Templar. Sword of the Chantry. You oppress those like me. Mages, Elves, anyone not of your faith or who has a different take on it than yourselves. I will grant you a kindness and allow you the chance to flee. Do so now and your bodies won't have to littler the road." Letrin said as his eyes narrowed and the fire in his heart burned brighter. A fire that would frighten away even a demon.

The Templars ignored the warnings and a moment later an arrow flew towards Letrin who with one fluid movement deflected it with his blade and cast frost spell at the Archer on the hill off to the right. He stepped back and raised his staff blocking a blow from a Templar sword and flowed with the momentum moving to the side as the Templar stumbled and an intense fire ball struck the next in the face. Letrin turned back to the stumbled Templar and thrust the blade into the back of his neck seeing the Templar instantly drop back to the ground with a quick death. Letrin looked back to the one Templar who had his hands over his face as his charred helmet laid at the ground.

"Here. Take the potion and your face will be fine in a few days. Don't try this again. I won't spare you twice." Letrin said setting a potion at the man's side and in the time it took for the man to look up he was gone. A simple spell that made eyes blind to him as he decided to head into the forest and avoid the paths for a while. Oh well. He enjoyed the bird's songs of the forest anyway.

Well hope you guys liked the pic and the lil story. ^^
