Both ukes awoke a few hours later and by then, they both were hungry. Scourge and Shadow were still playing on the Xbox, neither of them paying any attention to their mates.
"AHEM!!" that is until the two said mates cleared their throats and got their attention.
Sonic and Meph looked at them in annoyance.
Scourge looked at them both and his ears instantly drooped slightly. "Um..."
"Glad to see you finally noticed us." Meph frowned for him and Sonic both.
"How long have you been awake?" Green asked.
"Long enough to see we were being ignored." Sonic frowned.
“We didn't know you'd woken up.” Shadow protested innocently.
"Hmph." both mood-swingy ukes said as they crossed their arms.
“You guys were very quiet.” Scourge admitted.
“Yeah.” Shadow agreed. “So, how were we supposed to know you were awake?”
"If you weren't so addicted to that damn game, you would've known!" Meph finally snapped.
Both semes blinked at that.
“We're not addicted love.” Shadow reasoned.
“We only played it to pass the time while you two were sleeping.” Scourge finished.
"Whatever." the ebony male huffed as he stood up and went to the kitchen, Sonic soon following him.
Both semes looked at each other before scrabbling to their feet and following their ukes into the kitchen to make sure they didn't pick out something that they knew wasn't good for them in their state. And when they got there, Shadow went as green as Scourge's fur when they saw what they were eating.
Sonic had found some guacamole, jam and chocolate spread and it was enjoying it all on some taco bread. While Meph on the other hand was eating a fish sandwich with chilli, maple syrup, pickles, pineapples, ketchup, and ice cream added to it.
Scourge sighed as he rubbed his eyes, mumbling quietly to himself, "Damn cravings..."
Sonic looked up when they both came in and asked, "Want some?"
"No thank you Sonikku." Scourge replied. "We're fine love."
Sonic simply shrugged and continued eating.
"Um, Meph?" Shadow spoke up after a while.
"What?" He replied curiously.
“Don't you think that eating chillies are a bad decision?” the ebony male asked.
The pregnant uke frowned, holding his sandwich closer. "No... Why?"
"Well... Won't the heat of the chilli hurt the baby?" Shadow asked as he went closer to the male.
The sandwich fell from Meph's hand as his eyes widened in shock. "W-What?"
“The heat of the chilli might hurt the baby love...” Shadow repeated softly. “Maybe you shouldn't eat that.”
Mephiles quickly shoved the plate away, just in time to clamp a hand over his mouth as his stomach lurched terribly. He quickly rushed to the bathroom to empty his stomach contents. Shadow followed quickly behind him and tried to help his poor uke as best he could; giving him comforting words and gently rubbing his back. Mephiles emptied out his stomach contents, not able to keep his eyes from bringing forth tears from the god-awful burn in his throat that came from the chilli peppers. Shadow's heart was going out to his mate and the baby, hoping that they would both be alright after this.
Mephiles groaned in discomfort once he was done and slumped against the bathroom room wall from where he sat on the floor.
He then winced slightly and wrapped his arms around his midsection and curled up, his back turned to Shadow so he couldn't see him cry.
Meph had never been a guy that showed his emotions, and even though he was now pregnant, he still didn't want to cry and show how much pain he was in.
“Mephie? What's wrong love?” Shadow asked as he moved next to the hurt male.
Meph gave him a pained smile and murmured, "He's kicking the hell outta me..."
Shadow blinked before gently setting his hand on the other's belly. “I guess he's telling you to watch what you eat next time huh?” the ebony male smiled.
Mephiles chuckled tiredly, "Yeah, I guess so..."
"Hey..." came Scourge's voice from the doorway, both him and Sonic peeking in. "Is everything alright? "
“Yeah, everything's fine.” Shadow replied as he stood. “Meph just needed to let a few things go is you get what I mean...”
"Oh." both of them said.
“Yeah...” Shadow replied, looking over at his mate.
"I'm fine now, so stop worrying." Meph muttered.
“I'm just trying to look after you both.” Shadow said as he knelt back down next to Meph.
Meph simply sighed and glanced away, trying to hide his blush.
Shadow kissed his head. “How are you feeling now?” He asked, stroking the other's belly gently.
Meph's blush deepened as he placed a hand over Shadow's.
"Much better." he muttered with a small smile.
Shadow returned the smile, asking, “You okay to stand?”
"Yeah." he said, managing to get up on shaky legs.
Dang, pregnancy was a killer...
Shadow stood and helped the pregnant male to his feet before leading him out back to the living room.
“Do you want me to get you some water?” he asked once Meph was safely sat down on the couch.
His ebony uke nodded.
Sonic and Scourge simply smiled quietly from where they sat.
“Alright.” the red-streaked male said as he headed to the kitchen.
Scourge chuckled, now holding a smiling Sonic in his lap, "Well, since you guys seem busy, we're gonna head on home, okay Meph?"
"Aww!" Meph whined. "But we were just starting to have fun!"
Sonic giggled, "We can come back later on today, okay?"
"Besides," Scourge smirked, "I think Shadow wants to baby you some more...."
Meph crossed his arms as he glared at the other. “He's not babying me!”
"Alright, alright," he chuckled, holding his hands up in defence, "he's being attentive, then..."
Meph sighed as he dropped his gaze, leaning back against the couch. "I guess you're right... Sorry for shouting at you Scourge..." He apologized.
"No biggie." he smirked.
“Stop smirking!” Meph grinned as he threw the nearest pillow at Scourge, hitting him on his legs.
Scourge simply chuckled as Sonic giggled. Meph, however, decided to be even more childish and retaliated by sticking his tongue out at the both of them.
Both males burst into laughter at that.
“What's with all the laughter?” Shadow chuckled as he came back into the room with a glass of water for his ebony uke.
"Meph's attacking Scourge." Sonic giggled.
“I was not attacking him!” Meph objected, making the red-streaked male smirk as he sat next to his love.
“Then why is the pillow in the middle of the floor Mephie?” Shadow asked.
Meph just snatched the cup of water from his mate and remained quiet.
Shadow chuckled as he stood and picked up the pillow before sitting back next to Mephiles and setting the pillow on his lap. “Nevermind. It was just fun and games, right?” he asked, looking over at Scourge.
"As always." green smiled.
"Good." Shadow smiled, leaning back against the couch.
The two couples then simply watched television together, Scourge and Shadow occasionally chatting about whatever while Sonic and Meph conversed themselves.
Then, sooner than they'd all thought, it was time to go home, judging by the setting sun.
"Do you guys really have to go?" Meph whined as he hugged Sonic goodbye.
"We'll come by again tomorrow." Sonic smiled, hugging his baby buddy back.
"Could we have a sleepover?" Meph asked as he looked up at his mate, giving him the puppy dog look.
Sonic blinked in surprise at the idea before smiling, instantly liking the thought.
"Can we, Scourge? " the blue uke pleaded with his seme.
Scourge looked over at Shadow. "Waddya say Stripes? Do you mind the idea of a sleepover?"
"Not at all." Shadow smiled. "Although I think we better wait till tomorrow. That way we'd all have time to prepare and have things ready for a sleepover." He reasoned.
"Sounds good to me." he smirked.
"See you tomorrow then hey Buddy." Meph smiled at Sonic.
"See ya, Mephie." Sonic smiled and with a wave, the two left for home...
"Excited?" Scourge asked as they walked home.
"Yeah." Sonic giggled. "This should be fun..."
"Just take it easy tomorrow, alright?" The emerald male asked, taking the peach furred hand of his mate into his own. "I don't want you or Meph hurting yourselves because you're too giddy."
"I will," he smiled, kissing his cheek, "I promise."
Scourge smiled and pulled the blue male closer, setting his hand on his belly. "Thank you Sonikku."
Sonic blushed and smiled, giving his love a kiss, one to which was returned with a kiss on the head.
Soon they were back home, Sonic deciding to take a shower, Scourge however decided to just relax on the bed with a can of beer. Some fifteen minutes later, Sonic was out the shower with only a towel around his waist, catching the eye of the emerald male that was lounging around on the bed. Sonic blushed when Scourge suddenly smirked at him.
"Need help getting dressed?~" Scourge asked with a sexy wink.
"N-No." the uke squeaked with a mad blush.
"You sure?~" his seme questioned.
Sonic nodded and slowly made his way around the bed to get to the closet, only to cry out in surprise when Scourge grabbed him - the chuckling male smirking with his arms around his struggling and blushing mate.
Sonic just frowned cutely and stuck his tongue out at him.
"Don't tempt me Sonikku~" Scourge purred as he slowly released the blue male.
Sonic simply kissed him on the cheek and squirmed his way out of his arms to go and get dressed. Scourge chuckled as he watched his uke dress. Soon, the pregnant male was in his PJs and snuggling up against his mate in bed.
"I love you Sonikku~" green whispered as he nuzzled his love's head.
"I love you too." blue purred in return.
Scourge smiled as he relaxed further before closing his eyes. Sonic soon did the same, both males soon fast asleep.
