The ball bucked me off again. This week’s been a rather busy one. I should be happy that I’ve actually done some study work on the characters and to get this strip done. I especially got some needed improvements in my profiles, which unfortunately wasn’t seen here. Too bad I can’t say the same for Alex. I might need to add some cheeks in that first panel, and even with giving him a lower eyelid that skin tone is just a touch too bright. (I want to show a difference between skin and sclera, the ‘white’ of the eye). I’m not making excuses, just saying how the progress is doing.
Things will slow down some in the future, which will allow me to get back on the ball in earnest.
EDIT: As you could expect, I got the Japanese names mixed. They usually go “Last Name, First Name” there, and inconsistencies in how they’re listed online threw me off. As you could guess, I named Alex after Hamada Masatoshi, famous Japanese Comedian and someone who’ll happily kick my ass over this faux pas. (And he would too, they don’t call him a Super Sadist for nothing.) At first I thought that Masatoshi was the '’Last Name,” but I was wrong, it was ‘Hamada.’ Because of this, I changed Alex’s last name to Hamada and will be using this from now on.
