I have no idea, who your friends are, but, you are judging a very broad group of people based on just the few republican friends, now, first off, no, not 1 person who has any brains at all, democrat, or republican has honestly though that anyone should be nuked. anyone whom is actually educated, knows where to place the blame, one or two people are not represent of a entire country. i have no idea where you feel that it is just republicans who cause this issue. You want to talk mass histeria, and fear. why is it, that when a tragic accident happens, the only thing that 'Democrats' try to do is push massive gun laws, or things to control weapons, and spread fear throughout the public, fear is a way to control people, democrat, republican, it has never mattered. i have no respect for anyone who would say nuke anything, leashing just one nuclear weapon upon the world would shatter ecosystems and nature for thousands of years globally, the fallout would take less then a year to travel throughout the world reaching everywhere. a weapon of that nature never deserved to exist, and those people who said that, on your friends lists, are beyond idiots, 60% of the voters for either party just follow what the masses near them follow, your 'republican' friends are probably no more then uneducated idiots whom know nothing but the republican mindset and have never seen anything else, or even attempted to view it from a different standpoint. If anything, the fact they said something like that, looks not bad on republicans. but on the fact that these were the people you chose to associate with.

In every country around there world there are a vast minority of people whom the first thought they turn to is violence and retaliation, not just the america's. The fact that you chose to take one or two examples of one kind of people and generalize it to the entire nation, country, or even political beleive, shows that you are no better then them. so, because a few republicans wanted to nuke the people responsible for this, all republicans want to.

well

Because a few people wanted to bomb us, that means all of those people must have wanted to.

If you look at it from your mindset, it looks to me, like you are not only like these friends of yours. your exactly the same,

now

a few facts for you, as to how the investigation is going

1, Neither person was a natural born american citizen
2, the people traveled to their home country for extended periods of time, and refused to tell the government what they were doing when there
3, they have known relatives in their home country that have strong terrorist ties,
4, they were, in fact, already becoming a suspect to the FBI, due to the time they spent overseas, and the fact that they also had these terrorist ties.

There is a even larger amount of things that honestly suggest that these two may have had ulterior motives,  but i cant remember them all off the top of my head.

Now, i strongly beleive as a person, and as my own person, that this was a act of individuals. not a terrorist group. despite the possible evidence to the contrary.

Agh, listening to your rant has me more frustrated then you can imagine, not only at you, but at the idiotic people in this world, that will always judge the people around them as a whole, never giving someone a chance just because of whom they know, or where they used to live.

nether did i judge a large amount of people , i simply judged the people thinking in the way i described, (then you assumed i judged a larger demographic )  and then i moved on to a different but related topic, where most Americans ARE scared shitless due to the media blowing everything up and out of perportion.

or can you tell me an other "good" reason why so many Americans have Weapons in their home other then the misplaced desire to " Protect" their family?

Hunting for one, sport for another, and private recreation; and how is our desire to protect our family "misplaced?"

1'st..I have commented on YT, so will not leave another one here, other than the fact that what you have said is obviously true and as any none American would agree, paints an accurate picture of what even us Brits are thinking of the country across the pond.

Second though...maybe you should not put a G for general rating on this upload...the rant is rather adult.

Yours with respect...R.o.P.

People in general are scared, all over the world, its natural human instinct to be afraid, there are many governments that use fear to control their people, do i think its right, no, do i think it fixes problems no,

I believe in honesty, if people would just tell the truth, and treat everyone with kindness it would be better all around, sadly, i also know this will never happen

as to guns

well, i myself own two, i have a permit to concealed carry as well, people who are trained in guns and how to use them, save lives, they really do, someone preforming acts such as what has happened recently don't expect a random citizen to pull out a pistol and shoot back, and every time somone has, it ends a lot less violent then it could have been.

i live in a bad area, my guns do protect myself, think of it this way

Gun laws will take guns away from people who follow the law

If you take it away from all the people who follow the law

Who does that leave with guns

they wont follow the law
they didn't before
but whats to stop them now that there are no guns in anyone else's hands

as much as i would honestly love a totally gun free world, it wont ever happen there are too many out there, and people need to learn and understand how to handle them, and protect themselves as well.

I'd have to say outright, this was your worse rant (all of your others I found hilarious because it was about crap that didn't matter). I cringed at every word you spoke.

I hope you stop thinking that the entirety of a nation can be summed up by a fraction of a fraction of it's population. These people that claim it to be the worst attack on America since 9/11. It's true though, that it's only the extremists that gain notice, but they can't speak for the rest of a nation. To take 10 people out of a million and claim they speak for the rest of us, is absolutely unfair.

So I think the theme of this capper is: Don't keep saying 'Amerian's', but say 'stupid people'. Because they are everywhere. Every nation, every city, every home. It's because of this kind of coverage is the reason why I'm shamed to have unwillingly been brought into existence in this country. I hope that you know that it isn't America that is to blame for people reacting like this, but the media. We live in a world of mass communication where I can type something on the internet and someone in Moscow can read it a minute after I posted it.

Also, we've also had -several- attacks that involved many deaths that we didn't blame on other countries. One recently leading to a large scale prohibition law in the works on fully automatic guns.

And a sidenote, I truly don't think any less of you for this. I still think you're an awesome person who isn't afraid to speak their mind and I love the work you do, so keep it up~

I had 2 topics. the first one did not consirn all of America but a very specif group of people, the 2nd one did cover most of America, "but i let people decide upon themselves if they feel hit or not " ^^

And you're welcome! :p ... haha

Sorry but I will say in part you are wrong.  Although many people did point and maybe even scream terrorist first many did nothing but wait.  I think the media has been playing up many of the people who want to speak out and be heard.  This is not the general opinion of everyone in the U.S.     As you state its a god damn continent.  Maybe because I live on the west coast but most of what I hear is Holy Crap(or some such).  Although the setiment is make sure someone pays most of those who I know are not pointing fingers although I guess after yesterday they might.

Part of what you say is right there are plenty of people who jump up and yell and scream and even want to wave their guns and that is who the media will always focus on, in fact that is who most people will focus on.

It is sad sad world and yes I include the world when all I can seem to hear from any part is  "Our hearts go out to the families."
To me personally that is a near insult of a line when it is repeated over and over for every event.

But to me and a great many of those I know since the N.Y. 9/11 attack it was more than a wakeup call it was realistic.  When an event happens now I know many people who watch, listen, help if they can and try to move on.  There are many people who are not being incensitive but realistic---   SHIT happens you must deal with it and move on.  Not saying you don't want the bastards caught only that we can't let our lives be consumed by that.

Of course this is just me saying this but I know I can find a great many like minds that would agree and many that speak out.
Then of course I hear you say republicans,  again now a days you will find a great deal more people who don't claim either major party anymore because of the stupid stuff that goes on here.

I can't disagree at all, really,

The captured boy is an American citizen, and he has lived here almost his whole life and grew up here, from what I read the older brother was an Islamist radical with no social life who seemed to be plotting this for years where the younger brother was pretty chill and sweet and had friends who genuinely couldn't believe it. The older one was very dominant and controlling, even abusing his wife for not listening to him, the younger seemingly naive and easily manipulated.

I am most unnerved by the grim joy everyone seems to have that he was captured alive, and I fear his civil rights will be disavowed and he will be sent to Gitmo, truly a dark chapter in such a young life.
EtherSaga

Oh, right. It's a dark chapter in a bombers life to have his rights disavowed for hurting a lot of innocent people and terrorizing a city.

A man who takes an other man lifes" several at that" has no human rights.

the moment you kill anyone, is the moment you kill any "human rights" you might have in my book.
but thats a horrible hate way of thinking, and i dont condune people to think like me" actually i hope people think the other way" but yeah. in my book. i couldnt care less if he got a bullet through his head.

It's good you recognize your way of thinking, most people genuinely believe, without introspection, that "rights" are flimsy things they can dismiss as they please.

Human rights is a made up word and equally made up concept.

kemosabe

is that a bad thing, though?  Being so phobic of anything is foolish.  everyone should know how to swim, just in case; tp use a fire extinguisher(or put out fire in general) just in case; how to drive just in case, how to perform cpr and administer fist aid, and yes, how to take cover, how to defend yourself, and how to use a firearm SAFELY just in case.

Why iss violence an outlier that people choose to ignore and CHOOSE to be both psychologically and physically unprepared for?
LioMynx

Err there are a group of people found online who are just plain uneducated.  You really shouldn't take them seriously because they are of the small minority, a vocal one but a small one none the less.  There are people all around the world who are fully capable of displaying their idiocy and none of these couch potato bigots don't need any form of spotlight.

The best course of action would be to just block and ignore.  You shouldn't have put even 3 minutes of effort into them.  Even if it's just venting off steam, you shouldn't let idiots get to you, you're better than that.

If this is what a few of your, "Republican" friends are saying and you so outright disagree with them to this degree, don't keep them as friends. Also, America isn't a continent per say. If your referring to America you have to be specific. Both north and south America are home to a lot of countries so to generalize all of it as the US can be seen as offensive. I doubt you intended to do that but, whateves.

All in all, the media saturation on the event has gotten a little out of hand. It's gonna be very easy to lose interest and even be frustrated at the fact that people won't stop talking about it and I'm willing to bet more then a few people have said we should nuke something as a result. But that's cause everything that can be said, has been said, over and over again. Over saturated, over reported and quite frankly at this point, annoying.

I felt sorry for the people hurt and killed. I certainly wouldn't wish it on anyone. But no one needs 10'000 reports on every single syllable of the thousands of witnesses and there families.

Best thing to do Shadow, is to just ignore it as best you can for now. Try to keep in mind that the US does not represent the entirety of America, and that stupid things people say are just that. Looking forward to your next rant. =)

Basing your view on Americans (erm, U.S. citizens) on the media coverage is sorta like basing your view of English on Monty Python sketches.

Turns out they're not all cross-dressing comedians.  Disappointing, I know.

The hysteria was purely media driven.  Outside of Boston, where everyone was made to remain indoors, life went on as normal.  Sure people flew flags at half mast, but there wasn't any craziness outside the normal craziness.  Heck, I had completely unplugged on Monday so I didn't even hear about it until Tuesday.  My parents didn't call me up in a panic like they did on 9/11.

And try not to be too hard on the "nuke em" crowd.  It's a perfectly natural response to want to lash out, sometimes blindly, when you feel you've been wronged.  Don't worry though, none of those folks have access to the nuke button (although we do give some of them a button that says "nuke" on it, but all it does is turn a light on and off in Canada).
