Originally a birthday wish from this friend, I managed to put this together just before Kiso's departure to Texas Furry Fiesta. She liked how I made my badge and thought she'd love her own badge of a similar style, so we planned this out.
Personally, I keep looking back with a mix of some disappointment that my eventual rush (all my fault) limited me, and gladness that I completed something she and her friends enjoyed. I could have gotten into proper shading, given her kimono more accuracy and patterned it with pixel-flowers, but it was my first shot for a digital gift badge. I feel more warmed up to the process, and I accept how I need to take some parts out to physical pen-and-paper sketching.
I still think this deserves a cleanup to make some pixels tidier, but the above is exactly as it appeared worn, and people liked it, so I feel pretty good.
