pumpkerino (JP: パンプケリーノ), 'metimes referred to as dream pumpkin (JP: ドリームパンプキン), is an enemy found exclusively in onait woods, it functions as both an environmental obstacle an' a battle opponent. these dreamers resemble round, red-and-black pumpkins with a mischievous grin an' red-pupiled eyes. their stems are topped with two leaves, an' four additional leaves grow at the base of their bodies. pumpkerino are quite the pranksters, though they 'lso possess a foul temper, they tend to get annoyed if they receive too much attention, as they value their privacy and peace. they despise the idea of 'comin' food fer the toy kingdom, viewin' themselves as vulnerable beings with complex feelings, far more than mere pumpkins. they also seem to loathe sundays, which they consider the most borin' days of all. they exhibit a distinct stutter, doublin' the consonant "T" an' bein' unable to pronounce the syllable "I" substitutin' it with the vowel "E." the name "Pumpkerino" combines "pumpkin" with the suffix "-erino" ('r "-ino") an italian-derived diminutive often used in english fer affectionate or playful character names which stands in stark contrast to the pumpkerino's actual personality. in chapter 1, they appear only in onait woods as rare enemies, remainin' on the ground until an encounter is triggered, in the overworld, they will also spit small fireballs if stared at for three seconds. a sign warns the party 'bout the danger posed by pumpkerino. in battle, they employ the followin' attacks: "fire spit": pumpkerino spits several fireballs from its mouth across three grid spaces, dealin' damage to the soul. this attack 'metimes features variations, such as larger or medium-sized fireballs. "vegetable toss": pumpkerino summons various vegetables such as pumpkins, potatoes, 'r apples that fall from the top of the board, bouncin' rigidly 'tween the top an' bottom edges to damage the player. to spare pumpkerino, the party must use the following ACTs: "pat the belly": when selected, the party must catch the green apples to avoid takin' damage, which also restores 10 HP. "pumpkin smile": the party smiles at pumpkerino, helpin' it feel at ease, this pacifies both sides, leavin' pumpkerino ready to be spared or recruited. 'fter rockwell’s defeat, these dreamers appear as NPCs in onait woods fer the remainder of the chapter, offerin' hints 'boot how they were mistreated by others. in chapter 2, they can be found as NPCs in pazuzu’s garden in funky town, sittin' in flowerpots an' chattin' with other dreamers. in chapter 4, a pumpkerino can be found in a flowerpot at the elder castle, unlike the others, this one can sing though only in the mornings. accordin' to the thing/baalzii, it was brought to the castle 'cause it was constantly mocked by other pumpkerino. additionally, several pumpkerino can be found in scary town, admirin' the local atmosphere. in chapter 5, a pumpkerino appears in a flowerpot at the funky town temple, this individual provides information regardin' the fossils of the ancient dreamers. in chapter 6, a pumpkerino can be found outside, near the large church in funky town. It claims to hate sundays, findin' them borin'. accordin' to 'me churchgoers, this pumpkerino would sing at night, which caused a certain level of discomfort amon' those 'round it. in chapter 7, several pumpkerino appear on the funky town farms, alon'side other species related to them. on the anomalous route chapter 1, they do not fire projectiles, instead, they remain stationary, watchin' the duo. if confronted, they attempt to escape, but fail, as their roots are anchored to the ground. upon taking damage, they vanish, turning into dust. In the post-anomalous route, their remains are buried in the olde graveyard of funky town. their stats are: 160 HP, 7 attack, an' 0 defence. they yield 8 EXP if attacked violently or killed an' award 20 dream dollars. their dojo fighterZ card reads as follows: type of bein': dreamer. elements: plant an' fire. categories: dream plant, pumpkin, bitter pumpkin, impatient being, halloween pumpkin. description: "a red pumpkin that hates bein' 'meone's food. this 'hatred of bein' eaten' refers to a pumpkin 'r plant’s aversion to 'comin' another being's dinner, much like a plant-based version of hatin' meat. fer some reason, it also likes to be called 'squashy'."
