"Undersea basking"
Even a flying reptile can enjoy relaxing underwater every now and then, and this particular arabhar finds it a nice place for some basking. Every now and then they dive down into their favorite reef, coil themselves up on a rock, and just look around while enjoying the warm sunlight. They've got a pretty good breath hold, so they can spend quite some time like this before they'll even get uncomfortable at all. Must be pretty nice down there!
Some info about the Arabian flying snake (Or "arabhar"), according to the Cryptid Wiki: They're shaped like water snakes, and can fly with bat-like wings. They live under frankincense trees, and the Arabs would use the smoke from styrax to drive them off and get at the frankincense. Each Spring, arabhar fly from Arabia to Egypt, going through a mountain pass along the way where they tend to be attacked by ibis birds. The last recorded sighting of an arabhar was in the 4th century BC.
Another little art event! Figured I'd revisit that not-so-scary divers idea from last year, and this time I'll be focusing on cryptids, with a bit of information about them each time. I know these aren't really necessarily scary to begin with, but eh, my art event my rules. I'll be doing another 6 of these, with the last being on Halloween, and I plan to include some pretty obscure ones alongside more well-known ones.
