I get lost sometimes, sometimes I get lost in the lines and it's not always a good thing. Sometimes I follow a bad old habit chasing a prefect pointless line. Nothing is and can be pefect don't waste time chasing it. When I take my walks especially now with the season changing, there's a lot of leaves on the ground they make a satisfying crunch when stepped on. Among the countless leaves on the ground do you know how many of them are perfect...? This principle I've come to apply to my mindset when it comes to making art. I started out on this only wanting to really draw a close up of a leaf maybe give it some detail. Along the way though I got lost in the process I let something go there was a quiet moment when I realized that lil mistakes or imperfections do not ruin a piece of art they can enhance it give it character. Looking at the lines of my work you can see focus points places I dwelled others I sprinted through they all tell a story as every leaf does when breaking free from it's mother tree starting its own little adventure getting rained on nibbled by passing critters then finally found and admired by happy onlookers... What I'm saying is your art is a story of you and you aren't perfect and neither does your art have to be it's merely an extension of you.
This is me the tired leaf that's been stepped on and chewed up by life, yet I continue to aspire wonder, I hope.
Ah thanks I'm happy you think so i tried more on this leaf, but at the same time I didn't really try at all or at least it didn't feel like it I was in an interesting flow state with this leaf sketch.
