🐺 Princess Mariorie — Wolf Form

Name: Princess Mariorie
Form: Supernatural Wolf
Species: Witch-Blooded Human / Shapeshifter
Gender: Female
Height: Approximately 1.9 m in human form
Eyes: Crimson red
Brother: SCP-049
Mount: Hell Steed
Primary Purpose: Blending into human society
Appearance
In her wolf form, Princess Mariorie becomes a large, imposing black wolf with an unusually elegant appearance.
Her fur is predominantly deep black, with lighter markings around her face and muzzle. Her most distinctive feature is the pale white marking covering much of her face, which gives her wolf form an appearance strangely reminiscent of the white beak of her plague doctor mask.
Her eyes remain bright crimson, regardless of which form she takes.
Mariorie retains certain personal items while transformed, most notably her cross necklace, which remains around her neck. She also retains her small medical satchel, although its contents are reduced to items she can reasonably carry while in wolf form.
Despite her supernatural appearance, she is still recognizably a wolf to ordinary humans.
Purpose of the Wolf Form
Mariorie primarily uses this form to blend into human society.
Her human appearance—particularly her height, red eyes, plague doctor clothing, and mask—can immediately frighten or alarm ordinary people.
As a wolf, however, humans are far less likely to realize that they are looking at an anomalous entity.
Mariorie can walk through forests, villages, roads, and even populated areas without immediately attracting the same attention she would receive in her human form.
She is especially fond of using this form when she wants to quietly observe humans or investigate someone she believes may be suffering from what she calls "the Pestilence."
Personality
Mariorie's personality does not change when she transforms.
She remains intelligent, compassionate, and deeply devoted to her purpose of curing the Pestilence.
Despite her frightening abilities, she is generally gentle toward innocent people and animals.
She particularly enjoys:
- Walking through forests.
- Running alongside her hell steed.
- Quietly observing human settlements.
- Helping injured animals.
- Sleeping near her brother.
- Spending time with trusted Foundation personnel.
- Exploring places where her human appearance would attract too much attention.
When upset, Mariorie's wolf form makes her emotions much easier to notice. Her ears flatten, her tail lowers, and she may retreat somewhere secluded.
After a failed cure, she will sometimes transform into her wolf form and disappear into a secluded area where she can cry without being seen.
🩺 SCP-049 and Mariorie
One of the more unusual aspects of Mariorie's transformation is that SCP-049 can always recognize her.
No matter what form she takes, 049 knows that she is his sister.
Researchers have attempted to determine how he identifies her, but 049 has never provided a satisfactory explanation.
When asked how he can distinguish Mariorie from an ordinary wolf, he simply responded:
SCP-049: "She is my sister. I require no eyes to recognize her."

Mariorie has occasionally attempted to surprise her brother by approaching him in wolf form.
It has never worked.
049 will immediately turn toward her and address her by name.
Mariorie: "How did you know it was me?"

SCP-049: "Because, dear sister, you are not particularly difficult to recognize."

Mariorie: "...I thought I was."

SCP-049: "You have crimson eyes."

Mariorie: "...Oh."

🐺 Her Relationship With Her Brother
Mariorie is extremely attached to SCP-049, and the feeling is mutual.
Although they have vastly different approaches to treating the Pestilence, they consider themselves partners rather than rivals.
049 views Mariorie's ability to successfully restore people to life as something extraordinary. Mariorie, meanwhile, respects her brother's dedication even though she dislikes how often his "cure" results in death.
When they are permitted to spend time together, Mariorie will sometimes lie beside him in her wolf form while he works.
049 has been observed calmly placing a hand on her head while reading.
Foundation personnel have described the sight as "disturbingly wholesome."
🐴 Relationship With Her Hell Steed
Mariorie's hell steed also recognizes her regardless of her form.
She can ride the steed while in wolf form, although she usually travels on foot when attempting to remain unnoticed among humans.
The hell steed is completely immune to Mariorie's Touch of Death, just as it is when she is in human form.
The creature is also highly protective of her and has demonstrated aggressive behavior toward anyone it believes intends to harm her.
Foundation Note
Dr. █████: "It's remarkable. She can go from a seven-foot plague doctor riding an apparently demonic horse to an ordinary-looking wolf."

Researcher: "Ordinary-looking?"

Dr. █████: "Fine. An extremely unsettling wolf."

SCP-049: "She is beautiful."

Dr. █████: "...Nobody asked you."

SCP-049: "I felt it necessary to clarify."

🩺 Princess Mariorie — Human Form

Full Name: Princess Mariorie
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Height: Approximately 1.9 meters (6'3")
Age: Unknown
Occupation: Plague Doctor / Healer
Family: SCP-049 — Older/Younger Brother
Mother: Witch
Father: Human
Primary Weapon/Ability: The Touch of Death
Mount: Hell Steed
Alternate Form: Supernatural Wolf
Affiliation: SCP Foundation — Voluntary Resident
🖤 Appearance
Princess Mariorie is a tall human woman standing at approximately 1.9 meters in height.
She normally wears a set of thick, black plague-doctor robes, consisting of several heavy layers of fabric designed to protect her from harsh weather and obscure her identity.
Her most recognizable piece of clothing is her black plague-doctor mask, which closely resembles the mask worn by her brother, SCP-049.
Unlike 049's mask, however, Mariorie's mask is personally fitted to her and contains several small modifications that allow her to see and breathe more comfortably.
When her mask is removed, Mariorie has a relatively ordinary human appearance.
Her most unusual feature is her bright red eyes, which she inherited as part of her anomalous abilities.
Despite her frightening appearance, Mariorie is completely human.
She possesses normal human organs, blood, bones, and biological functions.
The Foundation's medical examinations have repeatedly confirmed that there is nothing physically anomalous about her body.
Her abilities originate from her mother's witchcraft rather than from being an anomalous species.
🩸 The Touch of Death
Mariorie possesses the same fundamental anomalous ability as her brother.
Through direct skin-to-skin contact, she can cause the biological functions of a living organism to completely cease.
Mariorie calls this ability:
"The Touch of Death."

The effect is extremely rapid.
Upon activation, the target's biological processes shut down, resulting in death.
Unlike her brother, however, Mariorie has spent many years practicing and refining her ability.
She eventually discovered that the same power that could cause death could also be used to reverse it.
✚ The Cure
Mariorie's greatest difference from SCP-049 is that her cure actually works.
After causing a subject's biological functions to cease, Mariorie can manipulate the same anomalous energy responsible for the Touch of Death and restore the subject.
A successful revival results in a completely living person.
Recovered individuals:
- Have normal biological functions.
- Retain their memories and personality.
- Can speak and behave normally.
- Show no signs of decomposition.
- Are not undead.
- Are not zombies.
- Can continue living normally after recovery.
Mariorie's ability to accomplish this is the result of years upon years of practice.
She considers the ability a responsibility rather than a weapon.
Unfortunately, she is not perfect.
Failed Cures
Occasionally, Mariorie's attempt to revive someone fails.
When this happens, the subject may return as a zombie-like creature rather than a fully restored human.
Mariorie considers these incidents to be failures on her part.
She becomes extremely upset when this happens and will usually retreat to an isolated location where she cannot be seen.
There, she will often cry over the person she failed to save.
She refuses to consider the resulting creature the person she intended to save.
Foundation personnel have learned that giving Mariorie time alone after a failed cure is generally the most effective way of helping her recover emotionally.
☣️ The Pestilence
Like SCP-049, Mariorie is obsessed with what she calls "the Pestilence."
She believes that some people are infected by an unknown disease or force that must be eradicated.
However, Mariorie's philosophy differs slightly from her brother's.
049 believes that death is sometimes necessary for the cure.
Mariorie believes that death should only be the beginning of the cure.
Her ultimate goal is to eliminate the Pestilence while allowing the infected person to survive whenever possible.
When she encounters someone she believes to be infected, she may pursue them until she can determine whether they truly require treatment.
This is one reason she frequently travels on horseback.
🐴 The Hell Steed
Mariorie owns a supernatural black horse known as a Hell Steed.
The creature is believed to originate from an infernal realm.
Despite its terrifying nature, it is completely loyal to Mariorie.
Most importantly, the horse is immune to her Touch of Death.
Mariorie can touch, ride, and care for the animal without harming it.
The Hell Steed is also capable of traveling at unnatural speeds and possesses extraordinary endurance.
When Mariorie believes she has located someone infected with the Pestilence, she may mount the Hell Steed and pursue them.
This has led to several reports from civilians describing:
"A black horse carrying a plague doctor with glowing red eyes."

Mariorie apparently finds these reports amusing.
🧙 Her Family
Mariorie and SCP-049 share the same mother.
Their mother was a witch, while their father was an ordinary human.
Their mother possessed supernatural knowledge and abilities, which she passed down to both of her children.
This is the source of both Mariorie's and 049's abilities.
Despite sharing supernatural abilities, Mariorie remained fully human, while her brother eventually became the anomalous entity now designated SCP-049.
The exact circumstances surrounding their childhood and their mother's disappearance remain classified.
Mariorie rarely speaks about her parents.
She is considerably more willing to talk about her brother.
🩺 Relationship With SCP-049
Mariorie and SCP-049 have an exceptionally close sibling relationship.
Despite their vastly different approaches to medicine and the Pestilence, they genuinely care about each other.
Mariorie does not consider 049 a monster.
She considers him her brother.
Likewise, 049 does not treat Mariorie as a specimen or another anomaly.
He treats her as his sister.
The Foundation has discovered that prolonged separation between the two causes considerable emotional distress.
Because of this, Mariorie is permitted to remain with her brother under controlled conditions.
049 Recognizes Her Immediately
Mariorie's plague-doctor mask makes her appearance extremely similar to 049.
However, 049 can recognize her even without seeing her face.
More importantly, he can recognize her when she is in her wolf form.
During one incident, Mariorie approached her brother while transformed.
049 immediately turned toward her.
SCP-049: "You needn't hide from me, sister."

Mariorie tilted her head.
Mariorie: "How did you know?"

049 simply looked at her.
SCP-049: "I know you."

Mariorie then sat beside him.
No further testing was considered necessary.
🐺 Wolf Form
Mariorie possesses the ability to transform into a large black wolf.
She primarily uses this form when traveling among humans.
A mysterious woman nearly two meters tall wearing plague-doctor clothing would naturally attract attention.
A large black wolf, however, is considerably easier for her to use as a disguise.
Her wolf form retains her red eyes, intelligence, memories, personality, and supernatural abilities.
049 can recognize her regardless of which form she uses.
❤️ Personality
Despite her intimidating appearance and deadly ability, Mariorie is a kind and compassionate person.
She genuinely wants to save people.
She dislikes unnecessary killing and becomes deeply distressed whenever her cure fails.
She is patient with the sick, protective of animals, and particularly affectionate toward her brother.
Mariorie is also considerably more emotionally expressive than SCP-049.
Where 049 tends to remain calm and clinical, Mariorie openly shows happiness, sadness, fear, frustration, and affection.
Her greatest fear is not death itself.
It is failing to save someone who trusted her.
Foundation Psychological Note
"Princess Mariorie is not SCP-049 with a different face."
"She is his sister."
"Where 049 sees death as an unavoidable part of curing the Pestilence, Mariorie keeps trying to prove that death doesn't have to be permanent."
"And every time she succeeds, she proves herself right."
