“W-WAIT! I’M DOWN HERE!” Basil screams frantically at the top of his lungs while running and jumping up, waving his arms. All of the Pokémon march out of the room, completely oblivious to the desperate, tiny Sceptile trying to get their attention. At his size, he is much too small for Chatot—or even Nova—to see or hear.

Coming to a stop not far from Cress, Basil stares out at the massive room in silence. It would take too long to reach the doorway at his current size. That means his only option is…

He turns and glares at the towering blue toe. To him, it’s a massive solid wall that stretches high into the sky, dwarfing him. At least it doesn’t seem as tall as the steps up to the guild he spent all day climbing, but right now, it might as well be.

Great… just great… the only one who can help him now is that stupid baby! It’s all his fault! He’s the reason he’s smaller than dirt right now! Rage and frustration boiling over, Basil rears back and kicks the side of the scaly cliff as hard as he can.

“AUGGGGGH!”

As swiftly as he kicked the side of the toe, he hops back and clutches his own foot in pain. “S-STUPID BABY! I HATE YOU!!!”

After a few moments pass, Basil calms down and finally gets a grasp on his situation. As much as he hates it, the best course of action is to get Cress’s help. Trying to get Nova, Mr. Chatot—or anyone else’s attention, for that matter—is simply out of the question. Crossing the room looks like it would take days for him… was it this big before?
He approaches the massive blue toe once more, but something doesn’t seem right. He can’t place what is off about it…

“I must be imagining things but…” He looks between the toe and the impossibly huge room and doorway. “No! I don’t have time for this!”

Wanting to put this humiliating situation behind him as quickly as possible, the Sceptile grabs onto the large scale in front of him and starts to pull himself upward. He grips each scale with ease, yet no matter how long he climbs, it feels like the top of it is nowhere in sight.

It feels surreal, climbing the side of a small Pokémon’s toe like nothing more than a tiny little flea.

And then, after what feels like an eternity, Basil finds himself nearing the summit of the toe. As he staggers to his feet, he freezes.
Stretching out before him is a vast blue landscape—rolling hills and shallow valleys extending farther than he could’ve ever imagined. It feels more like he’s gazing out at a countryside made entirely of scales than just the sole of a sleeping Totodile’s paw. Just the toe he’s standing on seems to stretch beyond what he can make out. And then, it finally dawns on him—

“WAIT! D-DID I SHRINK EVEN SMALLER?!” he shouts out in frustration. How did he not notice this earlier?!

“I swear I was at least a quarter as tall as that stupid baby’s toe!” Basil angrily stomps the scaly “ground” beneath him.

Unfortunately for the Sceptile, reaching the top of Cress’s toe is only the beginning of his arduous trek. There is an entire landmass of Totodile to cross before he can get his attention.
Done as a commission for codekip27 who wanted something with his OCs and some nano action. Thank you for your patronage ^^
