, somewhat in observance of the one-year anniversary of our civil partnership which we celebrated yesterday.
Through video game adaptations of classic tables, Zelandeth has lately gotten me a lot more interested in pinball than I used to be. We've shared a good few laughs and indignant squawks playing Pinball Arcade on our smart phones, and developed a greater appreciation for the history of the game. I was never into pinball (or arcade video games for that matter) very much when I was younger, since even then I perceived how they could be complete black holes for one's pocket change. Being able to play digital versions without needing an endless supply of quarters, however, has let me explore it more.
So pictured here, my favourite black dragon is in some appropriately dimly-lit arcade, hunched over one of our favourite tables, Medieval Madness, making SERIOUS PINBALL FACE. It's a delightfully silly and insane table, and we had the chance during a recent visit to the US to actually play the real thing. I snapped a photo of Zel while he was playing, and used it for reference here.
The title, 'Attract Mode,' is a play on words; it's what they call the mode that pinball tables go into when they're powered up in an arcade but not being played at the moment. It'll involve flashing lights and sounds generally by way of a demonstration to attract players. I figured it was appropriate here, since I imagine that a Zeldragon concentrating on a pinball game would probably make a number of cute inadvertent buttwiggles and tailflicks.
I love this pic, I have Medieval Madness for Pinball Arcade on my Vita! Of all the versions, PC, iOS, Android, even 360 and PS3, I don't know why, but the Vita version has the best controls. I am wondering when they will put up the Doctor Who table, or Whirlwind. However, my fav is still Cirqus Voltaire.

I'm very glad you like! :) Zel and I have it on Android and that's the only platform I've tried it on... it's a lot of fun there, although I can see how the controls could certainly be a bit nicer on a platform more designed for gaming. I'm certainly excited to see what tables they'll bring out in the future, too! Doctor Who isn't one I've encountered but I love the show enough that I'm sure I'd get a kick out of the table... I was delighted when they brought out Star Trek TNG, and the one I'm hoping they'll eventually do is Tron Legacy. ^^
It's been a lot of fun though, Pinball Arcade's really gotten me into pinball where I never used to be. The history and diversity of the various tables is a lot of fun to experience.

Tron Legacy is another one they do need. And the recent Transformers table. Also they have Bride of Pin-Bot, but not Pin-Bot or Jack-Bot. That seems odd to me.

Sounds like you know more tables than I do! My own experience so far has mostly been limited to what Pinball Arcade already has. ;) I'm pretty sure I saw the original Pin-Bot listed as one they have in the works anyway, so I guess we'll see!

I'm delighted you're enjoying. ^^ I'll do what I can! For the foreseeable future I'll probably be posting more historical work like this here, since I'm reasonably new to InkBunny. But I'm sure there will be some new stuff mixed in now and then too!
