<3 Won't deny, I have a weirdly mean fun in debatng logic with religious people. I know it's useless, but is so nice to see them rage when they're out of proof, and just answering 'because!' XD

I have an interesting idea for how everything exists without pissing most people off

Some kind of god made a big bang and the rest plays out between both ideas until its all said so yeah what if it was like that

Idk if it is true but what if it was O_o crazy shit I think

That's deism.  It was a popular thing in the 18th century.

lol, I love this, will definitely have to use this argument on the next person who pushes their religion on me. Fun Fact: I've been excommunicated from the Mormon Church... even though I was never a Mormon to begin with, try to figure that one out.

What if the missionary were a worshiper of the Invisible Pink Unicorn?

I know Russel deserves credit for it since the other one is basically the same idea...but I still love the flying spaghetti monster version of Russel's teapot better XB

*laughs* You've gotta be hardcore to push imaginary sky wizards when your gods are right there in a castle on the hill, Dark Souls-style.

Aww, poor sod just dont know what they are letting themselves in for, given Twilight is herself deity class.8}

My local Mormons get off the bus early, in the pouring rain, just so I dont talk to them, and the Jehovahs have to go around in groups with their ultimate weapon, the little old lady.

I mean, its not like I actually have a Nelbie in my pocket.

I just have all the verified designs computed and ready to go.

What these people seem to forget, yes I can alter their minds to what I want them to think, from a distance, but wheres the fun in that? or the effort?

Do the Mormon ponies all have the exact same cutie-mark and aggressively discriminate against those whose cutie-marks are different?

Mormons did not accept that non-whites had souls (and thus could go to Heaven) until the late 1970s or early 1980s. The Book of Mormon strongly implies that only white people can have souls and thus go to Heaven, but the church itself has moved away from this, largely due to the now large Latino population in the Church (Mormons routinely fled to Mexico in the 19th and early 20th century to avoid warrants for their arrest, and while there they made converts).

Mormons still believe that women can only ascend into Heaven as far as their husband goes (they believe in multiple "levels," with decreasing populations and increased pleasantness as you ascend) and thus unmarried women (and lesbians) cannot have any sort of afterlife.

Lastly, they believe that all non-Mormons are condemned to an eternity in Hell. This is why they are so aggressive about converting you to Mormonism - if you don't convert, you are going to Hell, and they've let you down. However, they also believe that if you don't switch to their beliefs after a good, hard bible-thumping, then you must be inherently evil, and thus condemned to Hell. You may in fact be a Demon sent from Hell to try and corrupt Mormons with your coffee-drinking, gay-friend-having ways. Homosexuals, Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Atheists and Communists (the last one is defined as "anyone who disagrees with Mormon political beliefs") are all condemned to Hell.

All of this combines to make them one of the most discriminatory subgroups in the United States today, and one of the few openly bigoted groups to still wield considerable political power (note the collapse of the Catholic voting bloc in light of their stance on birth control and gay marriage). While there are certainly more racist, homophobic or anti-woman groups out there (Neo-Nazis, Black Muslims, Scientologists, etc.) none of them are able to propose and push through major legislative acts outside of their home turf (Prop 8 in California was funded almost entirely by the Mormon Church, through mandated donations by its members) nor can they put forth viable political candidates (Mitt Romney).

that's why i was catholic not practicing and i see them being this aggressive if they try with me then i say to them this "You say to other's you are going to hell God's children in his image then i saith to you begone demon you are not welcome in God's home" I slam the door in their face.

Hell doesn't exist in the Bible. While it's clear that there's a Heaven and that you don't go to it unless you play by the rules, nowhere does it say you go to Hell for not playing by the rules. There are demons to lead you astray and lakes of fire, but these seem to be designed to kill you, not eternally damn you. Hell is a fabrication the Church came up with to get people to do as they're told.

I've heard somewhere that not only does our salvation depend on being converted to Mormon beliefs, but they can only maintain grace as long as they keep trying to convert others.  So it's not just that they're concerned about you, if they stop Missioning, they might go to hell.

The irony is I've heard the "Non-converted go to hell" belief from other groups, which also believe that leeway is granted to those who have never been preached to, and never had the chance to hear "The Word"

In light of this, wouldn't it be better to never spread the word of god around, so that everyone is given an equal chance upon their death to hear it again, from god himself?  The idea that a human could convert someone as easily, or easier than god is the height of arrogance.

I tried explaining it with the following thought exercise.

You're a missionary, on the way to a remote village, where there is a sick and dying man, who has never heard of the Bible or Christ.  If you get a flat tire, and he dies before you can preach to him, what happens? Some of them will claim he gets a chance upon death, if he doesn't get one in life.  To which I reply, "Don't you think it might be just a little more convincing to someone that there is a god if he's standing right in front of them in all his majesty to speak to them personally, rather than you showing up in your slacks and dress shirt with some book that might not even be in a language they can read?"

The irony of course is that this world actually does have a Godess, Twilight writes her letters every week.

Though it hasn't been explained if there's a creation myth, or reality, in Equestria, just some events that happened a thousand years ago, that were apparently after the world already existed.

We have one of the main Mormon temples right in the middle of town. In Arizona there are 6 temples, 6 missions, 104 stakes (no clue what that is), and 787 wards.

Damn.  Though at least you don't turn a corner, see a mormon church, turn another corner, see another, and you gotta go about 5-10 blocks down the street to find anything BUT a mormon church. XD It's ridiculous.  We're within walking distance of a good 10 churches alone, and each of them have 4 different times you can come in on sunday.  EVERYTHING is shut down on sunday btw....very VERY few places are open.

We have a lot of businesses that are closed on Sundays. The other thing I can't stand is that every junior high, and highschool has a Mormon seminary right across the street, and its offered as a class.
