Meta Knight and Magolor sat in the shade of a tree, holding hands as they watched Kirby play with the now six-month-old Ryusei. Blade Knight and Sword Knight were present as well, having generously taken up the role of babysitters for the children of their fellow swordsman. Both the Star Warrior and the two knights adored Ryusei, and Magolor chuckled as he watched them all cheerfully prance around.
As for Meta Knight, he remained silent, but not because of any problems. Just the opposite, in fact, as he had been secretly planning to take a big step forward, and he decided that today was the day.
"Wait here, my love." he said to Magolor. He stood up and approached the group, who were all piled on top of each other, with Kirby and Ryusei laughing. Meta Knight grinned behind his mask, amused by the sight. "Blade, Sword, I need you to watch Ryusei for a moment. I've something very important to tell Magolor."
Meta Knight took Magolor's hand and led him to a hill overlooking a valley. The tall grass swayed in the breeze, and from their height, they had a clear view of the distant mountains, lush apple trees, and a current flowing downstream. It was the perfect setting for what Meta Knight planned to do.
The swordsman stood facing his lover and took both of his hands. "Magolor, I have been planning to tell you this for quite a long time, and now, I believe the time is right. These past fifteen months have been the happiest of my life. You have grown so much from your past mistakes, and now we are in love and raising a child. I know without a shadow of doubt that this is the life I wish to lead, alongside you, our son, and the rest of our children we give life to."
Magolor was touched Meta Knight's speech. "Oh, Meta, I feel the same way. I never even thought I'd be living this life, not after I betrayed you all. But I'm making the most of my second chance, with my amazing friends and boyfriend by my side."
"Likewise, my love. With that said," Meta Knight pulled out a small white box and opened the lid, and Magolor gasped as his lover revealed a diamond ring embedded in the velvet lining.
"Magolor, my most precious person in all of Planet Popstar, will you become my husband?"
The alien was stunned speechless by the gesture, hands over his covered mouth, his heart skipping a beat. But finally, tears of joy streamed down his face as he nodded happily.
"Yes! Yes, Meta, of course, I will!" He threw his hands around Meta Knight, lowering his cloak and lifting up his fiancé's mask to kiss him.
As Meta Knight happily returned Magolor's affections, Kirby, Ryusei, Blade Knight, and Sword Knight watched them from afar, happy for the engaged couple.
Two weeks later
Magolor grew emotional as he looked at himself in his prep room mirror. The alien was donned in a pure white robe, adorned with green gems and silver swirl patterns-no dark colors or traces of his past betrayal anywhere. Additionally, his face was completely uncovered, as were his hands, symbolizing that he wasn't hiding any part of who he was. His bridal outfit depicted his growth so subtlety, yet so well that it moved him to wipe away a stray tear.
Meanwhile, Meta Knight was getting ready in his own prep room, and just like his fiancé, he was dressed in symbolically light colors. His usual shades of navy and dark purple were replaced with pure white armor, and most unusually, his face lacked his signature mask. Aside from Magolor, he almost never showed his face to anyone, but today was a special occasion. He wasn't hiding in the dark, protecting Dream Land from the shadows. He was getting married to the man he loved, and he wanted everyone to see their commitment.
Someone knocked on his prep room door. "Sir, it's almost time." Blade Knight called. "Are you ready?"
"As always, Blade Knight." the swordsman replied.
King Dedede took his place at the altar, happily agreeing to wed the couple. Bandana Waddle Dee sat in the front pew with Ryusei and Sword Knight. Once everyone had arrived and was seated, Blade Knight led Meta Knight down the isle to the podium. Everyone then stood up as Kirby arrived with Magolor, smiles following him as he approached his fiancé. Magolor handed Kirby his bouquet of lavender roses and white cosmos, and he and Meta Knight stood facing each other as King Dedede started the reception.
"Welcome, everyone, to the weddin' of Meta Knight and Magolor. These two lovely folks have been through quite the adventure together-one of new discoveries, crushin' betrayals, self-reflection, an' heartfelt forgiveness, all leadin' to true love. Now, let's hear the happy couple recite their vows." The couple took each other's hands and began.
"Magolor, when we first met, I did not think much of you. And when you claimed the Master Crown and betrayed us, I held nothing but animosity towards you. But you learned from your mistakes and proved your devotion to goodness. I am proud of how the kinder, more generous person you have become, just as I am proud to make this connection with you today."
"Meta Knight, I was so blinded by my selfish pursuit of power that I never thought about finding love. Even after I was given clarity, that didn't change, but you and our friends have been here for me in my darkest moments. That night, when you confessed your love, I saw you as more than just a rekindled friend, or even a lifeline to keep me sane. I saw you as my savior, a hand outstretched to save me. Being here with you today is a reminder that miracles can happen even when times are at their most bleak. I love you, Meta Knight."
"I love you as well, my dearest Magolor."
"Do you two lovelies take each other?" King Dedede asked.
"I do."
"I do."
The couple placed their rings on each other's hands, as a symbol of their unending love and devotion. "I now pronounce you two a married couple. Meta Knight, you may kiss yer husband."
The guests stood and clapped as Meta Knight and Magolor kissed, sealing their union.
