It's hard for this cubone to be happy a lot of the time, he doesn't really have fun with most things... But one thing he very much does like is being underwater. It always helps block out the negative thoughts he tends to have, and his bubbles make fun sounds too! ...Except he doesn't live anywhere near any significant amount of water. He doesn't let that stop him though; with a lot of work, he set up his bathroom to be possible to flood, and now every now and then he fills it up to enjoy himself by swimming around in the room. He's gotten quite the impressive breath hold from that! And while the water's about to reach the ceiling, he's not worried, he can drain it back out easily. Looks like a lot of fun!

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: currently inside his home, a cubone was trying to smile and be happy by having his bathroom filled up completely with water, it took a while to get it filled, but thankfully in the end it seemed like it was worth it. As this was happening, a gabite, who was the cubone's brother and the only piece of family he has left, had just came back home after a long walk through the woods to try and cheer himself up, since he was just as sad as the cubone. He doesnt know that the cubone likes being underwater and has no clue about the flooded bathroom, plus he came home eariler then the cubone thought.

Gabite - "Hey buddy I'm home! You around here?"

L: There's no response from the cubone, who didn't hear them. The gabite can definitely hear water running from the direction of the bathroom, but nothing more than that.

S: "Hmm... he must be in the bathroom then, theres no other place he would be other then that or in his bedroom crying..."

wanting to make sure the cubone was ok, the gabite heads into the direction of the bathroom, he then knocks on the door

"Hey buddy, its me, I'm home early, you ok in there?"

L: Still nothing from the cubone at first, but oddly, there's what sounds like... Bubbling sounds? A moment later, the cubone is finally audible. "H-hi, didn't think you'd be back so soon! U-um... D-don't come in, I'll just be a few minutes!"

S: "What the heck?" the gabite was confused as to why he's hearing bubbling sounds coming from the bathroom

"Cubone, whats going in there? Are you trying to hide something from me? Come on buddy you know your not supposted to do that"

L "N-no I'm not, just... Not doing anything weird, don't worry about me! Nothing happening in here, definitely!"

S: "Yeah that sounds like a lie, alright enough games im coming in"

the gabite then opens the door

L: As soon as the door starts opening, it gets shoved open by a huge amount of water spilling out! The cubone is pulled out by the rush, yelling in surprise, and the gabite is washed along as well!

S: "Whoaaaa!!!" the gabite keeps his balance as all the water spills out, theres at least 2 or 3 inches of it on the ground now

"What the what?! Cubone!!!" the gabite was angry now "What in the world?!"

L: The cubone looks up at the gabite from the floor, blushing heavily and clearly embarrassed. "...S-sorry... B-being underwater is one of the few things that keeps me from being sad, and there's barely any around... So I set up the bathroom so it can flood..."

S: "..." the gabite was silent for a moment, theres actually something the cubone like doing? This was shocking

"You actually found something enjoyable?? Wow... and i thought the both of us were gonna be sad forever. Look if what your saying is true then im not mad, I think its good you find something you like...and, I kind of understand why you did that. Ok look first lets clean up this mess then we'll talk, my walk kind of put me in an even sadder mood honestly..."

L: "Y-yeah, I'll help you out with this. Sorry, I probably should've made it clear what I was doing, but it was kind of embarrassing..." The cubone starts working on cleaning up all the water.

S: "Maybe put a sign up next time, its not like anyone else is gonna find out, we live alone..."

the gabite and cubone spent the next hour cleaning up all the water, it was a lot of work, but they managed to get it done

"Phew...that was a chore and a half, now about this flooded bathroom you made... lemme see what you did"

L: "Right, I'll show you. I added in a bunch of different spots for water to come in, and made the whole room waterproof. It can actually fill to the ceiling, but I don't usually do that."

The cubone shows the gabite the changes he's made to the bathroom.

S: the gabite looks around before whistling, impressed by the cubone's work

"Dang buddy, I didnt think you were able to do something like this, its impressive... now if only I could find something that makes me happy...my long walks to the woods arent doing it for me anymore... today I got so sad that I came home early..."

L: "Well... This has been working pretty well for me... Maybe it'll work for you too? I don't remember you ever saying anything about swimming, but you might like it."

S: "Uhhh, I dont know about that Cubone... I'm not much of a swimmer and I dont even recall ever being underwater before... that stuff kind of makes me nervous..."

L: "I didn't really like water until the first time I went under, but it changed a lot for me when I did. You should at least try once, so you'll know what it's like."

S: "I guess thats a good point, ugh I still dont know cubone, i want to be happy...but..."

the gabite was clearly contemplating on what to do

L: "Um... We could just fill it by like, a couple feet or so at first? Then if you end up liking it, we can add more water. I'd really like to be able to do this with you..."

S: the gabite sighs

"You know what? What have I got to lose, I may as well try it out. Do you have an extra pair of goggles with you? I remember you kind of need them to see better and so the water doesnt sting your eyes"

L: "I was always sort of holding out hope that you'd want to try swimming someday, so... Got you a pair of goggles a while back, I hid them in here." The cubone gets the extra goggles out of their hiding spot, handing them to the gabite.

S: "Huh, I guess you sort of predicted that"

the gabite chuckles a bit before he takes the goggles and puts them over his eyes

L: The cubone closes the door once they've got their goggles on, and puts his own back on as well. "Alright, I guess we'll get started. Try not to freak out..." He turns the water on, and the room begins to slowly flood.

S: "Whoa!!" the gabite did end up freaking out a little as the room started to flood with water

"Cubone I'm scared!"

L: "I-it's okay, it's not gonna fill up that much, I'll make sure you'll still be able to have your head above it by just standing instead of swimming!"

S: the gabite tries to relax, a look of nervousness still on his face and just hopes the water will stop rising soon

"Please don't fill it up that much!"

L: "Okay, this should be enough!" The cubone shuts off the water, with it being just over a foot deep. "I think you should be able to at least get your head under this when you're ready."

S: the gabite looks down at all the water in fear, shaking his head

"I-i...can't do it! I don't wanna drown!"

L: "You won't, look how little water there is! All you'll have to do when you need air is just stand up!"

S: the gabite sighs heavily

"...I still dont know if i can... but, I have to try...at least once like you said"

L: "I'll help you up if something somehow happens, but I know you'll be fine. Just dip your head underwater for a few seconds, then get back up and let me know what you think."

S: the gabite looks down again at the water below before turning to the cubone

"Um, I can't do this alone...can you do it with me?"

L: "Yep, no worries! I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure you have a good first impression about water." The cubone puts an arm around the gabite, smiling at them.

S: the gabite smiles back a little and puts his own arm around the cubone

"Thanks little buddy, I'm trusting you on this...cause I wanna finally be happy again"

L: "I hope this'll do it for you... Do you want to decide when to go down, or should I do a countdown or something?"

S: "Ive got a feeling I wont go down on my own, so a countdown would be better. Glad I at least know you have to hold your breath underwater, heh"

L: "Yeah, you definitely wouldn't have gotten a good first impression if you didn't hold your breath... Okay, let's do it! 3, 2, 1, go!" The cubone holds his breath and lowers his head underwater.

S: the gabite hesitated, but in the end he too holds his breath and lets his head lower down underwater, letting out a few bubbles

L: The cubone watches the gabite once they go under, waiting to see what their reaction to being underwater will be.

S: the gabite opens his eyes to look around, he was expecting to be scared of being down here, but to his surprise, he wasnt! He looked...happy, his tail wagging just a little

L: The cubone smiles, recognizing that the gabite's having a similar moment to what he had when he'd first tried out being underwater. He gestures for them to surface, and lifts his head up above the water.

S: the gabite nodded before lifting his own head above the water, gasping lightly

"..w-wow! I can't believe im saying this but...I like being underwater! That was so peaceful... I never knew..."

L: "Yep, that's pretty much exactly how I felt the first time. It's just so different from anything else... How about I get some more water in here so you can try going fully under?"

S: "Yeah for sure! I wouldnt mind that, I bet it would feel even better! Say, you've been doing this for a while it seems, how long can you hold your breath for?"

L: "My best is 9 minutes, which I've heard is pretty good for a cubone. I guess you probably don't know how long you can go yet though, huh?"

S: "Wow 9 whole minutes, cool! And not really no, but I wanna find out, maybe after I feel myself fully submerged underwater tho"

L: "Well, let's get the room mostly filled up, and we'll see!" The cubone turns the water back on, and the room resumes flooding.

S: this time the gabite wasnt scared and was actually excited about fully submerging underwater

"This is gonna be cool! Maybe at some point we can actually you know, fill this up completely? And I think it would be funny if we acted like we were in trouble at some point too if were gonna fill it up all the way, since we'll be actually safe"

the gabite giggles at that suggestion he made

L: "We can definitely fill it completely, and pretending to be in trouble sounds like fun, I've never done that before!"

S: "Me neither, but it sounds like ill be a good laugh for both of us! Just dont fill it up too much since we gotta have room for what were gonna say when were in "trouble" you know? Heh, still gotta make sure im ok fully submerged"

L: "Yeah, we'll need to get air if we do any underwater talking, too. Alright, I'll leave a bit of air left..."

After a little while, when there's only just enough space left for the two to comfortably breathe, the cubone turns off the water again. "Alright, ready to get started!"

S: "Seems like a comfortable amount of water to fully submerge, I'm a little nervous to get my whole body underwater but I'm gonna try and not think about the negative parts"

L: "Yep, just focus on how nice it'll feel to be underwater, take your time getting used to it. Maybe we should just relax for a bit at first before we pretend we're in trouble? Up to you."

S: "Yeah I mean thats fine, I think after i get used to being fully submerged we'll go back up to whats left of the air and then start pretending to be trouble"

L: "Alright, fine by me. Think you can go down on your own this time, or should we do a countdown again?"

S: "I would have the countdown again, j-just to be sure you know?"

L: "Sure, we'll do it again then. 3, 2, 1, go!" The cubone holds his breath and dives, heading down to the floor of the room.

S: the gabite holds his own breath after a bit and dives down as well, sinking down to the floor as well. An instant smile was on his face as he feels the water all around his body

L: The cubone stands on the bottom, smiling at the gabite. "Gubless bebling fublly unblder isbln't abln isblsue eibltheblr, hbluh?"

S: the gabite giggles out some bubbles

"Ybleah, I gbluess nblot! Iblt fbleels grbleat!"

L: "Glblad tblo hblear iblt! Wble oublght tblo fiblnd moblre tiblmes tblo dblo thblis toblgetblher, itblt's alblreabldy abl loblt bebltteblr wiblth yoblu hblere."

S: "Ablw, ybleah i agblree!" the gabite, who was also standing on the bottom, jumps up a bit and kicks his feet around the flooded bathroom and wags his tail as he enjoys himself for a moment, some bubbles escaping his nostrils

L: The cubone takes some time to swim around as well, happily blowing bubbles since he knows he can easily surface again when he needs air.

S: after a while, the gabite's face was turning red since he wasnt used to breath holding

"Thblis ibls niblce, bublt i thblink I mably nbleed tblo gblo breblathe, wble cabln act likble wblere in trblouble nblow afblter thblat iblf yblou wablnt, anbld fblill thble rbloom ublp compblletely"

L: "Okblay, thblat woblrks foblr mble." The cubone swims up to the surface to breathe.

S: the gabite kicks his legs up slowly to surface as well, gasping a bit for air as he did before smiling at the cubone

"Oooh this is gonna be exciting! Pretending to be in trouble and all"

L: "This'll be fun, yeah! And there's no way anyone will hear us, so we don't have to worry about explaining that we're fine, too!"

S: "Yep! Alright lets do this thing, and lets see how our fearful roles do!"

L: "Get a deep breath while you can!" The cubone starts the water again, starting to fill what space is left in the room, as he gets a deep breath before diving.

S: the gabite nods before taking some deep breaths and getting a last one in before he diving as well, ready to start acting like they are in trouble, already putting on a scared expression

L: Before long, the room is entirely flooded, and the cubone turns the water off to be safe. Then, he pretends to be scared. "Obl-oblh jeblez, arble wble trblappbled!? Webl're goblnna drblown ibln hblere!"

S: "Whblaaa!! Oblh nblo!!! Thble enbltire rbloom is compblletely flobloded!!! I dblont wblanna be unblderwater!!! Ablhh!!"

the gabite couldnt help but giggle quietly after he said that before returning to his scared look

L: The cubone giggles a little too, then follows up with "Soblmeoblne hblelp ubls, webl're loblckebld unblderblwatbler!"

S: "Plblease!!! Sblomeone sablve ubls!!! I dblont wblanna dblrown!!! Wble cablnt gblet thble wablter oublt!!!"

to add to the effect, the gabite swims over and bangs a little on the door

L: The cubone bangs on the walls a bit too, careful not to actually damage anything. "Hblelp! Ibl dobln't knblow hblow mublch loblngeblr wble cabln hblold oublr brbleatblh!"

S: "Wble cabnt gblo thblat loblng!!! Plblease sblomeone anyblone, HEBLLP!!!!"

his face actually goes a bit red from the talking, but he doesnt mind

L: The cubone's blushing a little too, though he doesn't care yet either. "Wble hblave tblo fiblgurble oublt hblow tblo geblt oublt oblf hblere, Ibl dobln't thblink anblyonble's coblminblg!"

S: the gabite giggles again a bit as he's loving pretending to be scared and in trouble before he responds

"Yoblur rblight bublddy, bublt whblat dblo wble dblo?! Thbleres nblo ablir ablt abll ibln thblis rbloom!"

L: "Loblok arblounbld, thblere miblght ble soblme stbluck soblmewblherble!" The cubone starts quickly searching the room, and can't help but smile from how much fun he's having.

S: the gabite quickly searches the room too, smiling and wagging his tail a little as he too is having a lot of fun. Eventually the gabite actually finds an air bubble thats trapped on the ceiling which surprises him at first, but only one as he carefully takes it

"I fblound sblome! Oblnly oblne ablir bubblble thblo... ublgh! Thblis sblucks!"

L: "Bebltteblr thblan noblthiblng... Webl'll hblave tblo spblit iblt, wble nebled evbleryblthiblng wble cabln geblt!"

the gabite inhales the whole bubble, his face returning to normal as he giggles again, still being playful but wanting to catch the cubone off guard a bit and knowing they will be fine and it wouldnt matter, he would absolutely share the bubble if they were actually in the situation for real tho

L: "Whbl- Coblme obln, Ibl nebledebld thblat!" The cubone giggles, recognizing what the gabite is going for with that.

S: "Sblorry bublddy, I nbleeded iblt mblore! Ybloull be fbline!"

the gabite giggles out some bubbles again

L: "Ugblh, seble iblf Ibl hebllp yoblu iblf wble fiblnd anblothbler bublble ibln hblere..." The cubone's blushing a fair bit by now.

S: "Whblatever!! Lblets jblust gblo bacblk tblo fblinding a wblay oublt!"

the gabite then whispers to the cubone

"Yblou actblaully oblk thblo?"

L: The cubone whispers back "Yeblah, Ibl'm fiblne. Prblettbly coblnviblnciblng, hbluh?"

S: "Ybleah, fblor sblure! Thblis ibls rbleally fblun! I hblope yblour enbljoyinv yblourself!"

L: "Deblfinblitebly! Noblw..." The cubone goes back into the act. "Stblop meblssiblng arblounbld anbld hblelp mble fiblgurble oublt hblow tblo geblt oublt!"

S: the gabite goes back into the act too

"Fbline fbline... leblts kbleep lobloking thblen"

his own face turns slightly red again as he searches around

L: The cubone continues searching as well. "...Ibl-Ibl cabln't fiblnd anblythbling, Ibl dobln't knblow whblat tblo dblo!"

S: "Thblis ibls terrblible, I gbluess wblere... doblomed to drblown in hblere..."

L: "Ybl-yeblah, Ibl dobln't thblink thblerebl's anblythbling wble cabln dblo..." The cubone sinks to sit on the floor, pretending to be accepting his fate with his face fully red now..

S: "Thblis sublcks...wblere tbloo youblng tblo dblie...

the gabite sinks to sit down on the floor next to the cubone, his own face growing more red as he turns to the cubone, pretending to accept his own fate and to give a cute/sad expression about this

L: "Ablt leblast webl'll ble toblgetblher foblr iblt..." The cubone gives the gabite a hug.

S: "Ybleah, lbleast wble havble eacblh othbler"

the gabite hugs the cubone back, faking some whimpers of sadness

L: The cubone does some fake whimpers as well, though he's smiling from how fun he's finding all this.

S: the gabite is too, he was really finding this so fun as he keeps up the act

"Oblh cuboblne...thablnks fblor the wblonderful memblories tblogether... iblm sblo sblorry thblis ibls iblt fblor ubls"

L: "Ibl-Ibl wiblsh wble cobluldbl've doblne soblmetblhinblg... B-bublt webl're jublst goblnna drblown ibln hblere..."

S: "Y-ybleah...sblo tragblic...I gbluess thblis gblonna be gbloodbye..."

L: "Jbl-jublst abl feblw moblre miblnutbles leblft... Ibl hblope drblownbling doblesnbl't hblurt mublch, ablt leblast..."

S: "Yeblah, I hblope sblo tbloo"

the gabite wonders how much longer they are gonna keep up the act, or maybe even make the room drain a little and continue acting like the room was just teasing them

L: The cubone is silent for a few seconds, his face just beginning to go a bit blue. "...Ibl thblink Ibl wablnt tblo stblop ablt thblis poblint, iblf thblat's alblrigblht. Thblat wabls prblettbly fubln foblr abl whblile thblougblh!"

S: "Ybleah thblats fbline! Thblat wabls fblun! I thblink wble boblth dblid wblell! Sblo, cabln yblou dblrain sblome oblf thble wablter blout thblen?"

L: "Yeblp, eablsy enblougblh." The cubone gets up and swims over to get the water to start draining. An air pocket finally forms at the ceiling as the water level lowers, and he swims up into it to gasp.

S: the gabite swims up to it ad well and gasps for air

"Hah, seriously that was really fun, and the part where I inhaled the full air bubble was the funniest part! We have to do that again sometime!"

L: "We really do, yeah! Maybe next time I could be the one to keep the air from you, that was really funny when you did that!"

S: "Hehe, sure its only fair! And I honestly feel like I can last a pretty long time underwater, I know we'll definitely be doing this whole filling up the bathroom thing again for sure!"

L: "I'm glad there's finally something else we can do together, that ought to help us feel a lot better!"

S: "Yeah, I dont feel sad at all now, i feel great! Super happy!

the gabite wags his tail happily, smiling as well

"Soo... what now? I dont think im even tired of diving! Haha!"

L: "Well, we could always just swim around in here for a while longer!" The cubone stops the water from draining.

S: "Sounds good to me! Hmm, hehe"

the gabite boops the cubone on the nose

"Gotcha!" he holds his breath and dives back underwater away from the cubone

L: "I'll get you back!" The cubone laughs, takes a deep breath, and dives after them.

The two brothers continue having fun together for a good while, and even once they're done they stay happy for the rest of the day, planning out ways to have an even better time in the water next time.
