A lone native mouse rides on horse back across the arid southwestern deserts on his way to an important event in his budding adult life. He is making a long trek to a wise elder to under go a naming ceremony in which he will finally be given his warrior name. He pauses as he spots something ahead out in the distance. His lightly built frame tenses as he senses danger ahead. He could simply ride around the foreboding obstacle but would add weeks to his journey. With thirst and hunger gnawing at him, and little to eat and drink out in the middle of the desert he cannot afford the extra time. With no other choice he draws his spear and prepares to face what lays ahead. Little does he know that by the time he makes it through the pending trials and tribulations ahead, his chosen name, "Stands Firm" would be well earned.

OK, I've read of this. Given a lousy name at birth (like Turtle Anus) to motivate him to EARN a warrior name AS SOON as he is able.
