This character along with all the others had no names I never got that far to name them anything. Pronouns: He/Him
This character was conceived as originally part of nine different other characters that looked like cats mixed with monsters (Examples: Frankenstein cat, Vampire Cat, Werewolf cat, Clown cat, Demon/Devil Cat, Witch Cat, a skeleton cat, a ghost cat and this voodoo cat character.) However I scraped the idea because it was too many characters but I'm leaving it in regardless. Also all of the characters are supposed to be around 3 feet tall but I couldn't find a free to use are base that was small enough and also every character is a monster and a cat mixed together. I can't remember any of the personalities of any of nine main characters and I defiantly don't remember the personalities of any of the side characters in the village.
CHARACTER DESIGN INSPIRATIONS = The design inspirations for the characters came from a lot of old horror movies and books like Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolves, Beetlejuice, Alice in wonderland Cheshire cat by demon and devil inspired, Jack Skellington and Zero from Nightmare before Christmas the voodoo cat was also inspired by when I saw the 2009 animated film nine movie poster but never saw the movie itself so like the stitch doll looking guy but voodoo and cat instead.
STORY= The story is that all these characters are part of a group of friends but suddenly one of them sees something that they aren't supposed to and has to convince everyone that they witnessed a murder happen and as time goes on the group becomes more and more convinced and try to find the person behind it. There would have been a bunch of different setups of things like how it could have been this person in the village or town or this person who's part of this group of friends who's acting strange all of a sudden. As well as the reveal that all of the Shadow Creatures were actually once just normal villager people like them but got consumed in by distress and felt like there was no escape for so long that when they died they would get reincarnated as the Shadow Creatures.
THE END OF THE STORY = The ending I do have isn't complete and also I didn't like it but I couldn't think of anything else so I'll use it anyways the ending was that the characters find out that they are in a storybook and that there's this kid who's miserable but because of the main character realizing that to overcome the evil that's making the shadow creatures is to make them insignificant and brush it aside to cope with the trauma and horrors that have happened to them and that the answer was in them all along and in their mind and that it was all a matter of their own perception and because of that the kid in the real world is a little bit better off and the storybook world goes back to normal.
SHADOWY MONSTERS/CREATURES = The things that surround the village is these scary long spindly shadowy monster creatures that don't communicate verbally and usually will go for physically torturing them for nothing more than just because it's what they want to do. They can take certain forms of shadowy figures but can't replicate anything perfectly and only try and imitate poorly but it's good enough to fool most of the other people and characters. They don't need to eat sleep or any kind of needs that the normal creatures have. They can only go out into the night and if they go out during the day or in sunlight they melt or disintegrate into dust.
WORLDBUILDING = One of the rules of this world is that when the people become too distressed or overwhelmed either though just negative thoughts either angry or sad about either themselves or others up to acting on self harm or suicide then they turn into these scary demonic forms and depending on how they can harness the evil dark power they can be either be really strong or really weak and more powerful for either a shorter amount of time if inexperienced to longer when more experienced. But becoming too distressed and turning into the demon form too much will make the them act more irrational, self destructive, self hatred, suicidal, or other self harm methods like cutting wrists or body, drowning, self choking, and more depression.
SETTING = They live in a village storybook like world where magic is used in place of technology and use wooden carts powered by magic to get around. They live in wooden cabins, stone castles, small tombs, circus tents, and a couple of forests not too far away from the village or town. The currency they use is gold coins and a form of government along with emergency services like police, firefighters, paramedics other things like banks, libraries, schools, grocery stores supermarkets and malls and places you can go to pay to eat and or just sleep or both and the people eat almost the same food as normal people food and water except for the ones that eat people flesh like werewolves, and in the case of vampires drink blood, and demons or devils also eating the flesh of others. The televisions powered by magic. The world has a sun and a moon and a date and a time system and they go through different seasons and have different weather like snow, rain, hot sunny summer days or nights and the world also has a countryside way out far away from any civilizations. The world also has things like grass, dirt, hills, mountains, water, sand, gasses and etc. etc. The one thing that is different is that if you go far out beyond where all the Shadow Creatures are and to the world you'll find that the world comes to a stop and there's nothing but a big empty pit of a black void with nothing to be found anywhere inside of it or around it where people who have seen somebody fall into the mysterious pit fall and never are heard from ever again. Also there's no air travel because the sky in this world if you go high enough thinking it looks like a normal sky that has weather and what not but eventually you'll hit a invisible indestructible barrier that prevents anyone from getting out.
OTHER INSPIRATIONS = When I was writing this I was about six or seven years old and in elementary school and it was about 2008 or 2009 or so and I was so miserable back then because of a bunch of different reasons one of them being me almost harming myself and then almost ending my own life but I didn't. Also I had no friends and I was bulled a lot despite just wanting to be left alone and to do my own thing which was back then was drawing, and writing. As well as the feeling of hopelessness at home and at school and people who claimed to say they'd be there to help but they didn't help and made things worse which spiraled into paranoia and not trusting anyone for a long time but the point is that but I guess I'm doing okay for right now. I think that maybe you could interpret this story as a way to cope with everything and or a way to either escape from my real life horrors or terrors or to have some way to reclaim control over it and become powerful again. But I had to in reality rise above all this horrible stuff and keep going and I have and I did because I'm still right here.
IN CONCLUSION = Certain things like the story, world, or characters may be not as good but it mattered to me when I made it and needed it and this one was the first one big thing I created back then for nobody else but myself. I have no idea if I'll ever want to revisit this ever again but maybe it could be reworked into something new I don't know who knows but with the way things are I highly doubt I'd have the time to invest into these things which is why this is here as a memorial to another one of the stories left to never be.
