Techno Duck is a robot so they have no gender. (Pronouns: They/Them or sometimes It/Its) (Personality: Just like my personality almost one to one.)
BACKGROUND = There's nothing too complex in the way of lore or backstory in this case it's was your typical robot work at robot factory and is built for the one purpose and doesn't' care until a wacky zany accident happens which in this case is a bunch of electricity being zapped into the robot and instead of just brushing off the electricity and moving on the robot was built defective by an worker at the company who didn't care and because of this the robot starts to become quote on quote defective or in other words becoming unknowingly more human and sentient and independent. Then before they can get the robot back to fix it the robot escapes through a sewage pipe that leads to the Shibuya-cho part of Tokyo-to where the gang known as the GG's are and find the robot all destroyed and still trying to move and making a bunch of distressed bleeping and blooping and decide to take the robot back to their garage and with enough time slowly fix up the robot and name them Techno Duck which the name from a the GG's misread some words scribbled on the inside of one of the robot's parts that says temporary drudge but they make up a cooler better name that being Techno Duck. Then through enough time Techno Duck was fully built and ready to start going out on adventures with the crew and also roller-skate and spray graffiti for and with the GG''s and with enough time was treated like Techno Duck was just another part of this found family.
REDESIGN = I did change a couple of things to set my version of Techno Duck apart like for example the plasma ball or globe in their chest or making the changing certain colors like the orange bill and the glasses being blue instead of the actual arms and legs or I guess roller blades as well.
REDESIGN INSPIRATIONS = I took inspirations from Beat and Roboy from Jet Set Radio Future and Metal Sonic specifically from the Archie comics design.
SETTING = It takes place in the same universes as the video game series Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future which both take place in Tokyo-to.
HOW THE CHARACTER BECAME TO BE = My history with Jet Set Radio the video game was that a YouTuber that I watched introduced it to me as gameplay they'd use in the background of their videos for a while and I thought the game looked cool so I went to play it though the at the time PlayStation 3 digital port released in 2012 but I didn't get to play it around to playing it until 2015. Then I dropped the game because it was just too difficult and different for me to comprehend and I played other things instead and I'd get stuck a lot and then in high school I rediscovered Jet Set Radio and then went from not playing it to beating the game a couple of times and there were games that I played too but there were a lot of games I couldn't play back then like Jet Set Radio Future (Which in Jet Set Radio Future's case I looked up other people playing it on the internet.) or Ollie King and Sonic Rush but I did listen to them and imagined things from it and all of these things came together when I made my first My Space Song and then after I made that somebody at my high school wanted me to upload the song onto the internet because they said it was really good but I wasn't so sure and then I got talked into it he told me to upload it to the music website known as SoundCloud and because of that I had to look up art for the song itself and so I had go to google and search terms up and it started with just robot animal and then mechanical ducks as a half hearted joke to see in a oh I bet there's nothing here and there wasn't and then I looked up Technological Duck which gave me nothing and then I shorted it to just looking up Techno Duck and that's when I found the image. The image was from the music website Discogs and was from the artist of the name Techno Duck featuring JOD S 11 which are both artist who have never made anything other than or since this 1994 EP of three songs two of which are just the same song and one of them is a different song the first song is called the Duck dance which actually sounds like what was originally called The Duck Dance before being renamed to the Chicken Dance in some other countries and it is a Cultural Tradition and a staple at celebrations (weddings, Octoberfest) to encourage loosening up and celebrating community and is originally written in the 1950s by Swiss accordion player Werner Thomas as "Der Ententanz" (The Duck Dance) who they also credit in the song itself. The duck dance is the a Euro House and Happy Hardcore remix or adaptation of The Chicken Dance but though the lens of a dance beat in a club setting. The second song is just the same as the first but with certain parts cut out to fit onto the radio and then the actual other song All Around which also is a great song and also also used the same sample in the beginning that was also used in the Jet Set Radio Soundtrack the guy saying "Come along children now were going to have a little music like old times." The art of the cover was exactly how it is seen now yellow with pink polka dots, Big glasses with spiraling rims and a beak on a background that also has a spinning into the center with water and a couple of bubbles with some text at the bottom reading the artists and the song name. I liked this character so much I decided to take it and make it my own instead.
THE USE OF TECHNO DUCK IN MY MUSIC = When I started making music publically on the internet I went under the name Techno Duck and I did so because I wanted to make music based around this version of the character that I had in my head and also the artist too. I made it because I knew back then that we would never get a real proper Jet Set Radio sequel that lives up the same quality as the first two and so with that I decided that I'd pave my own interpretation instead. However as time went by I got all these ideas in my head that things had to be themed a certain way to be professional or so I thought and one of those things was the heavy amount of things I made that were house music when I didn't know anything about said genre and another thing was releasing music at the breakneck pace in a attempt to either recapture the same first song or keep making in the same vein but without realizing that more never always means good and I was doing it because I thought I had to keep making things quickly too keep people listening but it ended up with everything musically being under-developed or not fully thought through as they could have been. Then I made a song but under my real name and it was supposed to be my last song ever but that didn't happen but I did get rid of the Techno Duck name and the reason is because the first song I made under that name it made since but as time went on and I kept trying out more and more different musical things I realized that I would have made this same stuff regardless of what name I put myself as and that I don't do anything too special with the character or the world in my music and also Techno Duck is nothing more than a self insert original the character anyway but I had enough and thought it was time to let go and just be my own person when it came to my musical stuff and that's not to say that I don't treasure that era of time in my own weird way especially because it lead to slightly better things but I think that Techno Duck is better off as it's own thing completely separate from what I'm trying to make with my own music.
IN CONCLUSION = I love Techno Duck and the world or universe that they inhabit and I want to make into something someday but it's becoming more and more unlikely and it is neat to revisit every now and then I don't know if they're going to be as big or have as much depth to last too long so I guess that's why it stays here unfinished and also thank you for reading all of this text because it shows that you care.
