It's so fucking good.  It's nice to see how extra aware of her surroundings she is.  The slightest breeze or offness in time and space warps through her mind.

I bet she needed to grip onto the ground extra tight with magic to maintain the full explosive power and stay on the ground during backwards bucking.

In fairness, "this lady showed up and instantly got really close to doing the thing I mastered" is pretty unnerving. Real Goku Fires Kamehameha First Try energy to it.

As for what could be missing from the Buckshot strike, is it meant be a kicking of the legs, or a thrusting of the pelvis? Was Twi thrusting because of her own habits and it wasn't meant to be like that? (Twi just has to perv everything.)

I think (I checked) the angle of attack was too low. Applejack  bassically used the ground to buck into, while Twilight pushed herself from the ground with her strength. Also she might not've hold back 'at the last second'.
Also remember Applejack bucks against trees, who are a tad more stationary than ponies.

I'm guessing it was a crossbow bolt.  The clang implies it was a very sturdy metal that Twi couldn't just vorpal blade apart.

It's possible, but the known archer is presumed dead (there's still room for it to be an illusion spell), and "clang clang" is the entendre for sex with a robot. (which they didn't have any of in MLP, let alone the MLP pilot ep.)
