Chrome treated me to a lovely hypnosis session a long time ago, and while I'd love to gush about the specifics, I was somewhat sworn to secrecy after being subjected to it.
That said, I think I can safely share that what he did to me, as another kitsune, seemed to pull something out of me that had been dormant for a very long time (that turned out to be Rayna, in due course - spoiler alert).
I could tell that Soul was none too pleased and behaving rather territorially; it raised its hackles quite badly as Chrome.. helped himself to a little of the negative energy off of my essence to enjoy; let's just put it that way. I tried reassuring it but I wasn't really all there. It was a rather novel experience, all told, so I don't think there was any way to calm it down in the moment.
I certainly felt a tad lighter and worry-free when I came back to, so I'm not sure what it was so worried about. 💝
As a sidenote, I do appreciate the double entendre of the dialog too, given the situation I'm in.
