Felikisy?s Quest for Peace
By Sokz
Air gusted around her body as Felikisy the Togekiss soared through the sky above her home. She sped through clouds and felt the gentle tingle of their ice crystals on her face, then she dove until she built up incredible speed. She soared past the snow-covered peaks of mountains, then around the cliffsides dotted with Munchlaxs, Snovers, and Weaviles. She smiled as she passed, but most of the time, she was too quick for the others to respond. All they saw was a flash of light, then a burst of wind as she passed.
She loved these types of days. Only a few clouds in the sky with no signs of conflict or turmoil. Peace. That's what she wanted above everything else, though it was difficult to maintain even for someone of her grace and poise. If she had one wish, it would be that the world could finally understand what life could be like without conflict and fighting. For now, she'd have to be content that her little paradise remained pristine and free of human influence.
She glided closer to the secluded glade hidden amongst the peaks of the mountains. There were countless trees packed close together, with clear areas around the ice-blue ponds and lakes where different Pokemon liked to relax. The sight was beautiful, especially when the sun caught the rolling ripples of the water. The only thing Felikisy could think of that was more beautiful was the necklace she wore.
It was her most prized treasure. The pink and gold heart necklace inside half an egg, with a silver and gold rope tied around her neck, was the sparkliest, most radiant thing she had ever discovered. She still couldn't believe it was just lying on a rock in the middle of the forest, glittering in the sunlight.
The situation was so perfect that she wondered if another Pokemon meant for her to find it. Maybe it was a gift from one of those Mythical pokemon, or even Arceus himself! She liked to imagine the Pokemon drifting down from his place in the stars and leaving the necklace just for her to find.
A sound caught her attention as she flew over the treetops. She recognized the harsh tones and the growing echo of conflict. She couldn't have that in her peaceful home! Without hesitation or delay, she changed her trajectory and darted across the forest until she came to the clearing near the largest lake.
There, a tiny Bonsly argued with a much larger Garchomp! The dragon loomed over the little guy while practically yelling in his face, all while the Bonsly stood his ground and tried to look brave. Felikisy landed in a burst of air only a pace away from the pair.
``What's going on?'' she asked. ``You two shouldn't be fighting!''
``He wants to steal my rock!'' Bonsly said. He held a shining stone with the three green orbs above his head. ``I found it, though, and I really like it!''
Felikisy turned toward the Garchomp. ``Is that true?''
``Well, yeah, kinda,'' Garchomp said. ``But I want it. And I'm a lot bigger than this little squirt, so I should have it! And if he doesn't give it to me, maybe I'll just beat him up until he does.''
Felikisy shook her head. ``Garchomp, don't you see that using violence to solve your problems is wrong? We want to have a peaceful home, so you going out of your way to cause conflict just makes things worse for everyone.''
``Yeah, but I want his rock.''
``But it's his. And I won't let you bully him anymore.'' She lifted a few inches off the air, ready to defend herself if she needed to. Though she was morally opposed to violence and much preferred to talk out her issues rather than default to a battle, she could handle herself if she needed to. Protecting those who were defenseless was part of maintaining peace. Garchomp looked at her with fierce eyes, turned toward the Bonsly, looked back at her, then shrugged. ``Whatever,'' he said before turning and walking away.
Felikisy smiled. She loved it when she could stop a fight before it even happened. There really wasn't any better feeling in the entire world, and the interaction filled her with a sparkling, radiant happiness. She felt warmth spreading through her body until it reverberated through her heart-shaped necklace.
``Wow!'' Bonsly said. ``You're growing!''
``Am I?'' Felikisy looked down at herself to find that she was almost triple her original height. ``I guess my necklace makes me grow larger when I'm happy! That's amazing!'' She leapt into the air in a fit of pure joy. Gusts of wind rushed around her as she soared upward until she could touch the clouds again.
This was amazing! She felt powerful, magnificent, and so much happier than she ever imagined. She soared low again, and this time the trees shook and trembled from the raw force of the wind dragging off her wings. Leaves ripped off the branches as bug Pokemon tumbled from the wood.
She continued soaring across the forest, giggling at the minor amount of destruction that came from each gust, until she heard another high-pitched shout. Someone was having another argument.
Felikisy instantly turned toward the sound. It barely took her a few seconds to cross the entire forest and land with a heavy thud next to two Pokemon as they argued back and forth. The first was a cute little Parchirisu whose tail puffed up and whose yellow cheeks sparked with electricity. The other was familiar. The very same Garchomp from before loomed over the tiny squirrel with that same evil expression.
The Garchomp froze as soon as he saw Felikisy. She had grown even larger than before, and now loomed over both him and the nearby trees. Her feet dug deep pits in the ground as the dirt buckled under her weight, and her eyes glittered as she looked down at the tiny pokemon. She must have been fifty feet tall, at least.
``Are you trying to start a fight again?'' she asked.
``What, me?'' The Garchomp pointed at himself. ``I mean, yeah. I'm the biggest and toughest Pokemon here, so I should get all the berries, right?'' ``Didn't you listen to anything I told you before?''
``Uh... no.'' He scratched his head. ``Was I supposed to?''
``Yes! We need to live in harmony here. Otherwise, we'll just devolve into violence. I won't have you going around, bullying Pokemon who are smaller than you.''
``Yeah!'' the Pachirisu said. ``You tell him!''
``Shut it, pipsqueak,'' said Garchomp. He turned back toward Felikisy. ``Listen, I'm not really following your logic, so I think I'm just going to knock you out and then do whatever I want.''
She sighed. Some Pokemon understood their place in this tranquil world. Others had to be shown the proper way by force. If a battle was the only way for him to understand, then she was fine defeating him.
Garchomp attacked first, using his speed to circle her before lunging in for a brutal attack. His scythe-like claws glowed purple and red as he struck against her side with Dragon Claw. She expected it to sting, but to her great surprise, she barely even felt the attack. ``Huh,'' she said with a smile. ``I guess being so huge increased my defense.''
The other pokemon snarled, then went in for another series of attacks. He hit her with more Dragon Claws, then even a Dragon Rush, but it didn't matter. With a funny boing, the Garchomp bounced off her belly and tumbled to the ground.
``Have you learned your lesson?'' Felikisy asked as she loomed over the dragon.
``Definitely not,'' he answered as he stood up.
She shook her head. ``I guess this is the only way.'' Wind gusted around her body as she used her power to control it. The nearby trees rustled as huge gusts ripped through their leaves. The grass underfoot shook from the raw power of the gathering air. Then, when a gale with the strength of a hurricane gusted over her head, she unleashed her Air Slash.
It cut right across Garchomp and sent him flying past the towering peaks of the mountains. The gust continued past him, carving a deep pit in the ground before it hit the tree line and ripped countless oaks and evergreens out of the ground. Dozens of bird Pokemon flew into the air, startled by the sudden force of the attack.
``Woops,'' Felikisy said with a blush. ``I didn't mean for it to be that strong.''
Her necklace sparkled, and she grew again. It only stopped when she was seventy feet tall, well above the peaks of the trees and far larger than any Pokemon in the valley. ``Well, I guess I can admit that was pretty fun.''
Felikisy had a lot of fun zooming across the valley between the mountains. At her incredible size, every turn and motion created gusts of wind that billowed across everything nearby. Sometimes trees even fell from the raw force of her movements! It was incredibly fun, even if some of the smaller Pokemon weren't happy about it.
She tried to keep the damage to a minimum, but it was just so much fun to land on a few trees and feel them crunch under her feet. Their sensation of the wood snapping and splintering into a thousand different pieces was intoxicating. Part of her wanted to stomp through the entire forest just for the satisfying sensation, but she resisted the urge. That wouldn't be very nice of her.
Stone and dirt trembled as she touched down on the edge of a high cliff overlooking the nearby landscape. Rivers meandered through the fields of grass, the forests of trees, and even a human village down near the base of the mountains. It wasn't very large, but every time she went, she found people arguing with each other and getting into fights. It was pretty sad, and made her feel bad every time she went.
But maybe she could fix that! With her new size and power, she could help the humans and make sure they stayed calm and peaceful with each other. The idea was so brilliant that it filled her with another burst of joy, further increasing her height until she was at least one hundred feet tall. Perfect. It would help convince the humans to get along.
She leapt off the cliff, soared through the air, then landed with a heavy THUD on the outskirts of town. Her feet shattered the street under her as the gust of wind from the impact crashed into nearby houses and shattered their windows. A few people fell as the ground shook, and a car lost control and slammed into her toe.
``Well, that's not very nice,'' she said as she looked down at the car. ``I'm here to help you guys! Don't attack me.'' She looked around. Humans scurried through the street in a mad panic, while others slammed their doors shut and closed their windows. That was pretty typical of humans. It seemed like they hated everything.
The ground trembled as she walked through the town. She tried not to destroy anything, but the street was so delicate, and the houses were so easy to smash. Her wings constantly brushed against their wood and brick exteriors and shattered them to pieces. ``Sorry!'' she said after it happened again. ``I'm not trying to do that, you just built everything so close together!'' Though she had to admit to herself that it was a little fun to break them apart.
A pair of cars drifted out from a side road with red and blue lights flashing on top of their roofs. Four humans leapt out of the vehicles, shouted at her, then pulled guns from their holsters and leveled them at her belly.
``Uh, what are you doing?'' she asked.
A pair of Arcanine burst from their Poke Balls. ``We're stopping your rampage!'' one of them growled. ``You can't just destroy our town and get away with it!''
``Oh, I see the misunderstanding. No, I'm here to make sure everything stays peaceful. I want everyone in the world to live nice, calm lives.''
``But you're destroying the town! Get out of here, or we'll be forced to attack!''
She sighed. Figures she'd run into another Pokemon that thought he could use force to solve his problems. ``Please, I just want to help. I'm not leaving until I'm sure you and the humans can act peacefully towards each other, and stop being so mean.'' She took a step forward and broke more of the street under her foot.
``That's it,'' one of the policemen shouted. ``Open fire!''
Felikisy flinched as they pulled the trigger on their guns. Loud booming sounds echoed through the street, but the actual bullets did little more than tickle her skin. ``Hey, stop that!'' she said. ``This is exactly what I'm trying to prevent.''
``It's not working,'' said one of the officers. ``Arcanine, use Fire Blast!''
Heat radiated from the two dog Pokemon as they let loose their attacks. The infernos crashed into Felikisy's belly and harmlessly faded into the surrounding air.
``That's it,'' she said with a frown. ``I tried to be nice, but if you insist on using violence, then I'll have to stop you!'' The air around her glittered with pink energy. Nearby houses trembled until the bricks that made up their sides came loose and their window broke. She called upon the forces of wind until the officers had to kneel just to avoid being taken by the gusts of air. Then she unleashed the full power of her Fairy Wind.
A torrent of pink and purple glittering energy raced from one end of the town to the other. Everything erupted in its wake. Houses burst apart, streets shattered, cars practically disintegrated, while power lines and buried water pipes exploded in sparks and bursts of water. By the time the gusts of wind died down, the town lay in ruins. Nothing stood except piles of rubble, while broken pipes belched water onto the mud. ``There,'' she said with a satisfied smile. ``That's what you get for being mean. Now if you promise not to do anything else wrong, maybe I'll...''
She stopped as a pair of rockets slammed into her back and detonated. It wasn't enough to deal any damage, and it barely felt like more than a spicy tickle, but it was still annoying. She frowned as she turned toward the attack. A pair of military fighter jets soared high in the air, moving quickly away from her.
``You still didn't learn,'' she said as she shook her head, disappointed. ``It's okay. I can teach you.'' She leapt into the air to follow.
The jets were fast, but with her ever-increasing size, she was faster. She caught up to the planes in less than a minute, then swatted them out of the air with a single swipe from her giant wing. They erupted on impact and hurtled to the ground in fireballs.
She looked toward the ground and spotted a small collection of buildings and vehicles amongst the rolling hills. A wire fence surrounded the compound, with more jets and helicopters sitting idle on the flat expanses of concrete. It looked like a military base.
Was that where the jets came from? It made sense when she thought about it. If that was the case, then she should take care of this place before it tried to send even more attacks at her. She dove toward the base and landed with a titanic SLAM, instantly demolishing a few dozen jet planes and military vehicles. The nearby buildings shuddered with the force of the impact while windows shattered and the ground buckled. Shouts rose from different parts of the base, then dozens of Pokemon and humans appeared with their weapons raised.
They weren't going to surrender, despite how pointless it was to try to stop her. She was titanic, taller than most skyscrapers, and yet they still thought their guns and attacks could even ruffle her feathers.
Missiles launched from trucks while tanks fired at her flank. Countless Pokemon tried to hit her with Ice Beam, Flamethrower, and Lightning Bolt. Even the individual humans tried to shoot her with their guns. It was almost sad.
This was the nature of humans. The only way they knew how to answer a problem was with violence. She'd have to show them how wrong they were.
She flapped her wings and sent a shimmering wave of blue and white flame outward.
The fire instantly caught on anything it touched and left pure burning destruction in its wake. The nearby buildings burst apart from the pressure while tanks, planes, and helicopters started to burn. Soon, the fuel storage caught on fire and exploded in a titanic burst, sending even more debris into the air.
The fire spread further and further until the entire army base was enveloped by its embers. Metal melted, guns stopped working, and the munitions detonated until there was nothing left. It only took a few minutes for Felikisy to stand in the smoldering ruins of the once-powerful military installation.
Some Pokemon liked Flamethrower and Fireblast, but her Mystical Fire was always far more beautiful.
Maybe now the humans would finally understand.
She loved flying through clouds at her new size. She was thousands of feet tall, bigger than any building she came across and even most mountains. The clouds simply burst apart when she flew through them, with wispy trails clinging to her wings before the air currents ripped them away.
When she flew low, the landscape trembled and ripped apart. Trees were torn from the ground as hurricane-force wings billowed off her wings, and dust clouds followed her for miles. Even human homes and settlements erupted simply thanks to her flying too close to them. She loved it!
And the cities didn't fare much better. She landed next to a few sparkling, shiny metropolises and had fun stomping through the outskirts and biting into their towers. They had a strange taste. It wasn't exactly sweet, but it wasn't sour or salty either. Whatever the taste, she liked it enough, and the crunch that came with it was amazing! She could stay there and eat skyscrapers all day, but whenever she stayed in one place too long, the military tried to attack her again. Their bombs grew bigger and bigger, but they were still useless.
Ace Trainers sent out their Pokemon, but even a swarm of twelve Dragonites was nothing compared to a single use of her Fairy Wind. They dropped from the sky as the city behind them erupted in bursts of pink and purple light.
She hopped from place to place, destroying whatever she came across until even the skyscrapers looked small to her. Ten thousand feet, fifteen thousand feet, the numbers almost seemed pointless. She hoped that the humans would finally stop attacking her once she grew so large that she could smash mountains with just a footstep, but they attacked her with nuclear bombs. The blasts seared the landscape, but didn't leave a scratch on her skin.
The humans were so desperate to stay in control that they'd destroy their own landscapes just to stop her. It was sad.
It just meant that she'd have to grow bigger still. Then she could loom over the world and make sure everyone stayed calm and peaceful. If they didn't, then she'd just stomp them into dust.
Felikisy flew across the continent again when a flash of light caught her eye. It came from the top of the largest mountain in the entire region. The snow-capped cone of stone rose so high that the clouds broke on its surface and the air around it sparkled as if it were frozen. She moved closer until she could see a cluster of old ruins on top of its spire. There was something else as well. Two Pokemon, one a brilliant blue, the other white and pink.
Curious, she moved closer and landed on a nearby mountain peak. Part of the mountain crumbled under her weight, but enough of it remained intact for her to lean forward and make out the two tiny Pokemon on top of the peak. She recognized them! It was Dialga and Palkia, the masters of time and space!
Her jaw dropped. Felikisy never thought she'd meet real Legendary Pokemon like them! This was amazing! Maybe they were there to congratulate her on what she had done and commend her for all her efforts to bring peace to the world.
``Hello,'' she said, her voice echoing off the mountains.
``You!'' Dialga said in what should have been a powerful voice. ``We have seen what you've done to the region. Countless towns and cities lie in ruin, while entire swathes of forests have been ripped out of the ground. The chaos you've caused is without limit, and the destruction is unparalleled.''
She smiled. ``Thanks,'' Felikisy said. ``I'm trying to bring peace to the world. Hopefully, the humans understand that if they try to attack anything, I'll just destroy them.''
Palkia growled. ``But don't you see that you've caused more destruction than anything the humans are even capable of?''
``Maybe...'' Felikisy admitted, ``But that's just because they're tiny. If I don't stop them now, they'll just make bigger and bigger weapons until they destroy the whole world! At least with me in charge, I can make sure everyone stays peaceful.''
``If you refuse to stop,'' Dialga said as the air glittered around his body, ``Then we will stop you.''
Felikisy sighed. ``I'd rather you didn't, but if I have to beat you, then I will.''
Dialga and Palkia moved first. The world shuddered as time and space shifted and morphed from the pure power of their existence. Dialga roared, and time shifted in a wave until it struck Felkisy in the chest. Palkia ripped at the air in front of it until the fabric of space tore and struck her wings.
Roar of Time and Spatial Rend were strong enough to reshape landscapes, destroy mountains, and obliterate environments, but all they accomplished was a strange feeling in
Felikisy's belly.
``Stop that,'' she said with a frown. ``I don't want to fight!''
Palkia and Dialga continued, unleashing attack after attack until Fleikisy had no choice. She breathed deeply, then unleashed her most powerful move. Her Hyper Beam erupted like a second sun, with the beam slamming into the mountain and enveloping everything for miles in a brilliant glow of white fire. The Earth itself shuddered as stone and metal vaporized. The shockwave traveled for miles, ripped apart clouds, destroyed forests and fields, and even entire cities that lay near the horizon.
When the air stopped trembling, Felikisy flew above a ruined landscape of molten rock. Dialga and Palkia were gone, as well as the mountain they stood upon. Now, all that remained was a burning crater.
Somehow, Felikisy knew it wouldn't be enough. She'd have to destroy a lot more stuff before the world understood its new place.
How huge had she grown? Twenty thousand feet tall? Fifty? One hundred? Everything looked so small as she glided through the sky with the clouds miles below her. Now, the only ones that could touch her body were the ultra-high altitude ones made of thin wisps. They drifted across her body as she flew at speeds far surpassing the limits of sound.
The Earth curved in front of her, and she could see tiny pinpricks of light above, even though it was still daytime. Did that mean she was in space? Maybe not yet, but she was close to it.
Even a single flap of her wings caused massive destruction as air currents thundered downward. Humans and Pokemon tried to take shelter as their world became eclipsed in her shadow, but when the winds came, there was no way to escape them. The air ripped through houses and swept continents clean as though they were just particles of dust on the ground, caught in a thunderstorm.
Sometimes she landed. When she did, the ground buckled under her feet until magma shot up around her toes. She couldn't make out individual towns anymore. Only the giant cities stood out enough against the natural landscape for her to notice.
She leaned down and licked a few of them off the surface of the globe. They had that same funny crunch as the skyscrapers, but now they tasted even sweeter. It was lovely. Or at least it was lovely until the humans sent another barrage of bombs to detonate against her head. It was so incredibly disappointing. If they just stopped attacking, she could settle down and let the world go on as it should. But no. They needed to prove they were still in charge, so they attacked her and forced her to retaliate in order to prove that she was the real leader now.
One day, the fighting would end. Until then, she had to show these humans how foolish it was to attack her.
She sent waves of fire across the landscapes whenever she used her Mystic Fire. Her Air Cutter was strong enough to slice mountains in half, and it even parted the ocean when she used it on the glittering waves. It was a lot of fun watching the two-thousand-foot walls of water crash back into each other with a splash taller than mountains.
The only problem with growing so large was that she was always a little hungry. She licked up a bunch of towns and cities, but that just made her grow bigger, which made room in her belly. Soon she drank an entire ocean just because she was thirsty. It's okay, though, since she gulped down an entire armada of battleships in the process. One less way for the humans to attack each other.
She flew into the sky again, but this time she rose so high that she was sure she reached the edges of space. The Earth looked so tiny and beautiful below her, though there were now small areas that burned with red and orange flames. Usually, those were the spaces where her attacks left a deep scar in the globe, but there were a few craters caused by her landing a little too hard.
It was amazing to think that she had such an impact on the globe. Before, when she was just a tiny Togekiss, she thought the most she'd ever be able to do was protect her peaceful valley between the mountains. Now, she was the guardian of the entire planet.
A star glittered in front of her. It was brighter than the others and almost looked like it was moving closer as she flew through the sky. Curious, she drifted closer until she could make out more of its form.
It wasn't just a star; there was a shape to it! She squinted against the brilliant luminance until she could see the white shape of a Pokemon standing before her. It wasn't Dialga or Palkia, but it was amazing enough that it had to be a legendary or mythical Pokemon. But who? She gasped as it clicked. This was Arceus! Possibly the most powerful Pokemon in the entire universe! Some legends say that it created Pokemon, and that it?s the ultimate progenitor of all life on Earth. Seeing it in person was beyond special. ``Wow,'' Felikisy said. ``It's lovely to meet you. But... you're not here to try and fight me, are you?''
``I am,'' Arceus said. ``You have destroyed almost the entire world. Nothing can stand before you now, except for me. Therefore, I will step in and make sure you can not cause any more harm.''
``Bleh,'' Felikisy said with a sour expression. ``No one gets what I'm doing! I'm just trying to show people that if they fight, I have the power to stomp on them! That way, no one will fight anymore.''
``It doesn't matter. I will stop you.'' Arceus' glowing form became even brighter, until Felikisy had to squint against the glow. The space between them trembled, time warped, and the world echoed with one of the most powerful moves known to the universe. Arceus' judgment crashed into Felikisy, but all it managed to do was push her a little bit backward.
After, Arceus was left stunned and exhausted. It floated in the space in front of her with the Earth just behind. ``Was that it?'' she asked. ``Then I guess it's my turn. Sorry about this. I wish we could have resolved it peacefully, but you wanted to fight, so...'' She opened her mouth and let her Hyper Beam surge. The beam enveloped Arceus and continued until the glimmering column of light struck the planet below. For a moment, everything was still. Then the fireball expanded from the point of impact until it engulfed almost half a hemisphere. The planet shuddered as stone, magma, and metal vaporized all the way down to its core, leaving the Earth violently scarred. Chunks of ground the size of countries were launched into space and orbited around it, while tsunamis bigger than skyscrapers surged through the oceans. Behind the Earth, the sun rose to illuminate its fractured form.
``Woops,'' Felikisy said with a giggle. She didn't mean to break the planet like that, but it didn't look bad. If anything, she kind of liked it with this new, jagged shape. Maybe that would be enough for the humans to understand her strength. Well, the humans that were left, anyway. She flew closer to the planet to observe the damage. Most of the surface of the globe had been burned away, but there were still pockets of life. A couple of forests were intact as they were shielded by mountain ranges, and there were areas deep in the ocean that were spared. That meant a few humans and Pokemon lived as well. Perfect. The population might be a bit less than it was a few days ago, but the world could rebuild and heal. And now they'd know not to attack one another, or she'd have to step in and stop the fighting.
She smiled as she drifted across the globe. Finally, after all that work, she could look down at a peaceful world.
