Imagine a U.S. flag where red and white stripes are in the canton and blue is being used for the color of the field and the field is being spangled and sprinkled with thirteen white eight-pointed stars. That makes for, in my opinion, the most insanely unique design for a U.S. flag: the Easton Flag, and that is what our Light of Hope Lisa Morgen and close friend Alicia Snow the Hedgehog is sporting.
According to the local legend of Easton, Pennsylvania, this flag was hoisted when the Declaration of Independence was read publicly there by Robert Levers just four days after the Declaration was signed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania yet two days before a copy of it reached New York City.
Note I was originally planning on using another historical flag in this drawing as an interesting way to speak out against bullying (which was why Alicia, a victim of bullying herself, is present here), but when I read by chance and much to my horror that it's currently being used by extremists, I quickly had to find a replacement, worried that it may be taken the wrong and controversial way. Despite the fact that flag has being used for extremism for a few years now, I knew nothing about this until a week ago. I'm just grateful to find this out before it was too late. God's watching out for me, that's for sure.
BTW, in addition to being America's semiquincentennial, it's also Alicia's 37th birthday. So, Happy Birthday, Alicia!
