Escorted back to his room by security, Mark deftly evades having to explain his status to his concerned friend. Mark isn't fond of being protected to begin with, because he fears it makes him seem weak and pathetic. But Tom is not only his friend but his buddy, so is this cagey-ness appropriate here? Maybe Mark could do with some self-reflection...
