Today marks Sonic's big 35th Birthday/Anniversary/whatever his fans want to refer to it as, but today also marks a lot of birthdays and anniversaries. For instance. It's the 5th birthday of Sonic and Amy's daughter Solace.
Around this time will mark 25 years as to when I myself got into the Sonic franchise, but it very likely would not have happened had it not been for the SEGA Genesis adaption of Wheel of Fortune. I've been a huge fan of America's Game my whole life, and it's what got me into video gaming in early 1998 and then into Sonic in the early summer of 2001, purely coincidentally around the same time he celebrated his tenth anniversary. As a result, you'll see various wedges from my fanmade adaption of Wheel of Fortune in the drawing. Our good friend Silver the Hedgehog and his gal Blaze the Cat are there to honor my 25th anniversary as a fan. Around the same time I got into the Sonic franchise, Sonic Adventure 2 was released for the SEGA Dreamcast, introducing three well-loved characters to the franchise: Maria Robotnik, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Rouge the Bat.
Now I could've very easily added more characters, but I wanted the focus to be on Sonic and Solace as much as possible, but I do have another major project that will feature 25 characters across 10 drawings that will be up a week from Saturday. In the meantime, Happy 5th to Solace, and Happy 35th to Sonic!
