I need a new character like I need a hole in my head... Desperately. Jokes aside, I realized a little while back that despite my predilection for fairies, especially of the botanical persuasion, I didn't have one representing my favorite flower. Long time viewers might stop for a moment and think about Kanzan in confusion. After all, they're a cherry blossom fairy, right? And right you are, random citizen. However, as much art as I've gotten featuring sakura, they're only my second favorite flower.
So in light of this oversight I once again contracted out one of my favorite artists,
, to bring the idea to life. Turns out my favorite flowers are lilies, with a preference towards tiger daylilies and stargazers. I also wanted to incorporate my favorite dog breed: the newfie! Don't get me wrong, I still love collies and herding breeds, but the newfoundland lab used to be in that spot and recently has taken the crown back.
After a little work combining the two, you might call me Crocker, 'cause I've discovered a new fairy. Meet Sparaxis!(... Who also happens to be named after a flower unrelated to lilies. Some of them look similar though!) A genderfluid landseer newf of the spring court. Much like my pixie River, Sparaxis can change their gender at will from male to female. However, unlike River, who has overall minor cosmetic differences outside of the obvious gender ones, Sparaxis turns into almost another individual completely. Still the same... person? inside though, keep in mind.
I've rambled on enough though. Just know to expect to see more of Sparaxis in the future. Certainly not going to leave this one by the wayside!
