For it's 20th year, I've started a project to illustrate every (major) chapter in the GeneX series! (sfw only)
Appropriately, we made it to GeneX Generations! I'll go over each pic chapter by chapter and briefly explain them. Or you could read the fanfic. I've got pools for the stories, and bigger stories have been collected into arcs as well, like this arc here: https://inkbunny.net/s/2863122
Ch. 13 - Dimentime and Blaze react with shock and despair at finding Crisis City in White Space. Did their sacrifices fail to save the future??
Ch. 14 (3 steps) - Copter, Heather & Gemini explore the Lost Mine from Soleanna together. It's a trap set by Mephiles and Lospecter, though.
Ch. 15 (two images) - Gator searches Sky Babylon for a treasure. It was a race for the treasure involving several characters... I just wanted to include Gator somewhere in the story illustrations. Cream reunites with her mother in White Space after the adventure.
Ch. 16 (two images) - Razor follows Kosmo through White Space. Later in Shamar, Copter and Kosmo team up to battle Eggman's forces. Inspired by Sonic the Werehog, Kosmo tries his own Weremorph form.
Ch. 17 (two images) - Fera commands Agents of Despair to battle the time traveling intruders (the second character was meant to be Anubis but I think what was generated works better as a generic Despair Agent.) Later, aboard Final Fortress, our heroes are faced with Mephiles in the form of Firepaw, having visited Super Eggman Land in White Space and absorbed Firepaw's shadow.
Ch. 18 (two images) - Espio utilizes a Cyan Wisp to help himself traverse Planet Wisp. (I wanted an image with all of Team Chaotix, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to generate them together.) Later, our heroes team up with Chip in Eggmanland while searching for the missing Katie. In Eggman's control room, they find her colorless body, and after restoring her, Chip offers her chocolate. (Again, just genning one of them was hard enough, so I opted for Chip.)
Ch. 19 (two steps) - During the final battles of the game's story, Copter is dragged through a portal by the Doomsayer and shown the grim future. Copter intends to defy the apocalypse anyway, and fights with the Doomsayer, who wields a bolt of lightning like a spear (which was impossible to generate, honestly).
Ch. 20A - Mephiles merged with the Time Eater, and with total power over time, creates a huge "Labyrinth of Eras" that the Chaos Emeralds are hidden within. All heroes must split up and seek the emeralds to stop Mephiles! Shadow finds himself exploring Prison Island during the Black Arms invasion, with a reluctant Spiny the porcupine joining him.
Ch. 20B - Guard, Heather and Classic Amy find themselves on a GUN Aircraft Carrier sailing toward disaster within the labyrinth. They have to flee to safe ground!
Ch. 20C - Knuckles argues with Knuckles and Knuckles over who should guard the Master Emerald during all this. Oh, and Classic Knuckles was there. Truly it was the time travel moment of all time.
Ch. 20D - Marine manages to get a Chaos Emerald within Lava Glacier and hands it to Blaze. It was supposed to be a red emerald, and I also wanted to include Gemini in the picture, but I was just asking for too many precise details with Lava Glacier and all... So I let things be simpler.
Ch. 20E - Temporal Emperor Mephiles is a massive enemy, with Time Eater's jaw, a big red cape, and a scepter with a clock in it that allows Mephiles to bend time to his will. He is the final boss of this story!
Ch. 20F (three steps) - Super Dimentime uses magic to charge up Sonic's form from Super to Hyper! It's up to Hyper Sonic to defeat Mephiles! I had a hell of a time putting Dimentime's white bangs in the image. I cropped the image to a smaller size both to hopefully make it easier (more screen space to draw in inpainting), but also I just wanted the image focused on the characters and not a background, anyway.
Ch20G - After the battle, the Doomsayer finds the defeated Mephiles in White Space. He picks up Mephiles by the neck and absorbs his powers, ending Mephiles the Dark and granting the Doomsayer the power to travel through time, which he was destined to attain...
Ch20H - At Sonic's birthday party, Tails takes Copter aside and gives him a birthday present, too, since he doesn't actually know when Copter's birthday is. The present is a framed photo taken by Chip while Copter was in Shamar during this adventure, featuring Dimentime, Kosmo, Razor, Mia and Professor Pickle. Since Dimentime vanished once again, this picture is all Copter has to remember him.
Yeah, chapter 20 WAS long enough to justify all these pics.
I have no current plans to illustrate any more of the series. This is the best stopping point before the actual ending, but there's about half the series still left...
