That's interesting about your name here. While I don't know how Zumi (sorry no umlauts on English keyboards) is pronounced, my mind pronounced it as Zoomi which kind of makes sense since bees tend to "zoom" around.

Thanks for the audio files. About 50 years ago, I tried to teach myself German, but I found that the umlaut sounds came out sounding the same and, unfortunately, I wasn't sure that I was pronouncing them correctly to begin with. One good thing that came out of self-teaching is that I learned to recognize a few written German words and German words in the English language (although several of them have different meanings in English).

Interesting to find those similarities. The German equivalent of "Zümi" would probably be "Summi". "Summen" is the buzzing sound of a bee (or flying insect in general), "summ" would basically be the sound effect for it. I'm guessing "Zümi" has the same root.
