Ultimate Idol
By Sokz
Pichu ended her song with a spin, a twirl, and finally, a bow. The other Pokemon in the small coffee shop applauded and cheered, though there were only a handful of them. Far from the standing ovations and deafening roars of crowds she always imagined, it was a start, and she was grateful for it.
``Thank you, thank you,'' she said with a smile as she twirled around again. A final bow, then she hopped off the stage for the next performer to have their turn. For now, this was her life. Every day she woke up, put on her shiniest outfits, and came to this small coffee shop to sing for everyone who loved her voice. All ten of them.
One day she'd make it big. One day she'd be surrounded by fans for miles in every direction, each chanting her name. She felt the rush of fame every time she closed her eyes and imagined it, but it was still far away. For now, she had to be content with her small performances and the handful of cheers at the end of each song.
She looked around the cozy space until her eyes fell on a poster taped to the old brick wall. It depicted the four Pokemon who took up such a large part of her mind, and set her life on this musical course. With Obstagoon as their lead singer, two Toxtricity providing instruments, and Rillaboom as the precaution, they were the biggest band in the entire region. Maybe the world! Their shows sold out in heartbeats, and wherever they went, they were loved and applauded. They even had a show coming up today, right here in Pichu's home city, but she couldn't find tickets.
One day she'd reach their level. One day she'd be as big as them. She just couldn't wait. ``Hello,'' a Clefairy said as she hopped over to Pichu. ``I really loved that song. And your performance was amazing!''
``Oh thank you,'' Pichu answered. She loved talking to her fans. ``It took a lot of practice.''
``I can tell. You made it look easy up there.''
``Thank you again.'' She did a twirl for effect. ``I don't think I've seen you here before?'' ``Oh, I'm new. Just passing through the city, trying to have a little fun. Speaking of, I have something I want to give you. Here!'' The Clefairy extended a glittering red bow, gently held in her hands.
Pichu's eyes sparkled as soon as she saw it. ``Wow, it?s beautiful! Look how shiny it is, and it'll go perfectly with my outfit. It's too cute!'' She took the bow and placed it on her ear. It glittered with every twitch and movement. ``I love it. Thank you so much!''
The Clefairy's smile widened. ``Just wait. You haven't even seen what it does yet.'' Pichu tilted her head curiously. ``What do you mean? Isn't it just a...'' she trailed off as something sparked inside of her. Electricity flowed from the pouches in her cheeks and coursed around her body. Her head spun as everything around her changed. The other Pokemon in the cafe watched on in shock as she started growing, her body expanding until she was taller than the tables, then the stage, then until her ears touched the ceiling. ``What's going on!?'' she said.
``Don't worry,'' the clefairy said with a wink. ``You deserve it. Just have fun.''
``But wait, what's...'' her head pressed into the ceiling, then burst through it as she continued to expand. The other pokemon in the shop fled the area and ran around her feet as she continued to grow. The building shook as bits of wood and stone cracked and shattered around her, until she smashed through the walls and stumbled into the street.
``Sorry, sorry,'' she said as her huge feet slammed into a car parked just outside the shop. As the vehicle's metal frame bent and shattered, she felt the electricity inside her react and reverberate. The growing continued.
Soon she was the same size as the three story brick buildings on either side of her. Pokemon flooded out of their homes in shock to stare up at the now giant Pichu as she tried to find her balance. Every time she shifted her weight, the street cracked and buildings shook. When she reached out to steady herself, her hand crashed right through one of the brick walls and destroyed the tiny apartment inside.
``Sorry again!'' she said as she caught her balance. ``Really, I didn't mean for that to happen.''
``Stop apologising!'' the Clefairy said as she bounced in front of the titan. ``Look at you!
You're as big as you always wanted to be! So have fun with it.''
``But how is this happening? What is this bow you gave me? And who are you!?''
``I told you,'' the Clefairy said as she hopped into the air and floated higher. ``I'm just a Pokemon who likes to have fun.'' Another wink, then in a shimmer of blue and pink, she vanished. Pichu was left stunned. What type of Clefairy knew how to use teleport?
``Hey!'' a Pokemon shouted from behind her. It sounded angry. She turned to face him, but her tail spun as she did, slamming into one of the buildings and ripping its front half away in a huge impact of dust and broken brick.
The Perrserker only growled. ``How dare you destroy my car and all these houses? Who do you think you are?''
``Me?'' Pichu said with a smile. Part of her was hesitant. She knew she shouldn't destroy everything around her, and how much of an issue this caused, but another part thought the little kitty in front of her was cute. ``I'm just the most adorable, largest Pichu you'll ever see.'' With a smile, she did one of her well practiced twirls. Her tail spun around her and slammed into the buildings, causing smoke and dust to erupt in a spiral around her body.
``Stop that!'' the Perrserker shouted. ``You're a menace, that's what you are! I'll take you to jail myself!''
The concept made her laugh. ``What, you? Are you going to drag me by my little toe?'' ``I'll show you.'' The Pokemon jumped forward, its claws extended. Its attack didn't even break through the fur on her foot.
Pichu let him try for a little bit, but once it was clear he couldn't do anything, she lifted her paw. The Perrserker tumbled as the massive sole lifted into the air and moved over him, casting him in shadow.
``Sorry, but you're not big enough to order me around. See you later!'' With a smile and a
wink, she let her foot fall. Her paw slammed into the ground with a tremendous impact, cracking the street and shaking the very foundations of the houses around her. With a single movement, not even a real attack, she won their little battle.
Maybe this change in perspective was just what she needed. She could have fun with this.
``Um, Mr.Pangoro, boss, um, we have your tribute,'' the tiny Ralts said as he placed a box near the larger Pokemon's feet. The Pangoror looked down at it, then back at the pair of psychic Pokemon. They were practically trembling where they stood. Perfect. That's exactly what a bunch of scrawny weaklings should do in his presence.
The group sat in a dark alley between two brick and mortar buildings. It wass dark, grungy, and perfectly suited for underhanded dealing just like this. A few other dark Pokemon, those who served Pangoro and ran in his gang, sat close by or hung from fire escapes, waiting for something fun to happen. But these two Ralts were too timid to try anything. This was a simple matter.
Pangoro leaned on his palm as one of his subordinates took the box, opened it, counted its contents, then nodded to him. ``It's all there?'' he asked.
``All there, boss,'' the Impidimp said.
``Fine. Then I guess you two can run off. Just make sure you keep in line.'' ``Of course!'' The pair of Ralts practically sprinted out of the dark alley.
As soon as they left, a zigzagoon rushed in. ``Boss, boss!'' he shouted in his sputtering, chaotic way. ``We got a problem!''
``What is it now?'' Pangoro asked. ``That gang of flying dorks trying to start trouble? I don't care if I have a type disadvantage, I'll pummel them into the ground if they try anything!''
``No boss, it?s way worse than that!''
``Speak! Come on, out with it.''
``It's... it's...'' the Zigzagoon looked around nervously. ``A pichu.''
A quiet fell onto the gang of dark type Pokemon, followed immediately by a chorus of laughter. ``A Pichu?'' Pangoro said. ``Like I'd ever be scared of a little runt like that. Come on, gang. Let's go see if we can't teach a tiny mouse Pokemon a lesson or two.''
``Damn it, Zigzagoon,'' Pangoro said as he stared upward at the giant Pichu. She giggled as she stomped forward, swung her foot out, and crashed it into one of the buildings lining the street. Dust and smoke erupted as its frame buckled and it tumbled to the ground. Pokemon screamed from somewhere beyond as rubble spilled out into the street. ``You didn't tell me she was a giant!''
``Sorry boss,'' the Zigzagoon said. ``I just figured you could handle it, `cause you're big and tough and stuff.''
Pangoro scoffed. ``Of course I can. It's just...'' The ground shook under him as she took a step forward, obliterating a car under her heavy paw. His heart raced as a bead of sweat dripped down his forehead. His hands shook until he crossed his arms to hide it. No, what was he thinking? It didn't matter how huge she was, or how absolutely massive her footsteps were. She was a Pichu, a freaking Pichu, and he wasn't going to let a cute mouse push him around. ``Hey!'' he shouted. She giggled as she thrust her hip into another building and demolished it. ``Hey!'' Pangoro screamed again. This time, her ears twitched as she glanced in his direction. It only made him feel like more of an ant. ``I... I'm the leader of this part of the city. You got no right breaking all my stuff!''
A smirk spread on her face. ``Aw look,'' she said as she walked forward, her paws trampling cars and streetlamps as though they didn't even exist. ``A little Pancham. Oh wait, you're a Pangoro, aren't you? Sorry, the difference is hard to tell for someone as huge as me.
Now, what were you saying?''
``I...'' she stopped when she was only a step in front of him, her immense body looming over his head like a mountain of adorable charm and power. Pangoro's heart raced as he stared upwards, eclipsed in her shadow. The other members of his gang started to back away. ``I said that I'm the leader of this part of the city... and you can't... you can't break my stuff...''
``Can't I?'' She smiled as she leaned down, extended her hand, then easily grabbed the once intimidating Pokemon. He tried to squirm out of her grip as she lifted him into the sky, but there was nothing he could do. Her hand was stronger than his entire body!
Once he was in front of her face, her eyes sparkled in recognition. ``Oh wait, I know you! You're that Pokemon who?s been robbing my friends and making stuff difficult.''
``I... no, not me. That'd never be me.'' He tried to look away, but her eyes were commanding.
``You don't look so big anymore.''
``Wait, we can work this out. You want berries? I can get you a ton of berries!''
``A ton is barely a mouthful for me.''
``How about money? Everyone likes money!''
``Na.''
``Then... what do you want?''
``I think I want a kiss.''
``A... what?'' The Pangoro couldn't do anything but watch in pure terror as she moved him closer to her face. Her hand opened, allowing him to rest in the center of her palm as she puckered her lips. ``Wait!'' But she didn't stop. She pressed the tiny little Pokemon against her lips and gave him the biggest kiss of his life.
A Draining Kiss, specifically. Pangoro felt every last bit of energy drain from his body as the attack left him completely defeated. All his talk, all his bluster, all his big words and intimidating moves meant nothing.
He was decimated by a single kiss.
``Huh, is that it?'' Pichu said as she pulled the Pangoro away from her lips. ``Kind of thought you'd still be awake after that.'' She frowned. ``Oh well. Can't help it if you guys are too weak for me.'' With a carefree movement, she tossed the Pangoro over her shoulder. ``Now for the rest of you.'' A handful of dark type Pokemon stood on the ground near her feet. So far, they were frozen in place, mesmerized by the giant as she manhandled their leader and defeated him with a playful kiss. Now, the smarter ones turned and ran. It didn't matter.
``Hey, why are you running?'' she called as the zigzagoons and Impidimps sprinted through the street. ``I thought you guys wanted to teach me a lesson? You know, to stop destroying your buildings and stuff.'' They didn't stop. ``No? Then I guess I can just do whatever I want.'' Her smile was radiant as she charged her electricity.
When she was a normal, tiny Pichu, she wasn't the biggest fan of battles. They were violent, aggressive, and they left marks that were so unsightly for a performer like her. But today she was in the mood to try out one of her favorite moves just to see how amazing it was at this size. Once enough energy gathered inside her body, she let it loose in an electrical burst that surged through the city.
Electricity jolted into the buildings and vehicles, surged through power lines, and radiated the air. Everything within a few blocks was blasted with pure white light as the energy of her attack scorched the ground and sky. Trees lining the road caught on fire, buildings were decimated by the sudden heat and pressure, and the countless tiny Pokemon trying to run away were caught by the trillion volts of electricity.
By the time it finished, the ground was scorched and the destruction was total. Not a single tiny Pokemon remained standing.
``Huh,'' she said as she looked around at the smouldering crater. ``And I always thought my Thunder Shock wasn't that powerful.'' She smiled. ``Who knew?''
``I don't really look like that, do I?'' Pichu said as she stood in front of a skyscraper made of glass. Her reflection bent and distorted as she shifted back and forth, making her head look tall one moment, then short and fat the next. ``No, this building is just lying to me. Why would they use glass to make a building if it wasn't going to work as a mirror?'' She shook her head. ``Some people just don't have any foresight.'' She turned around and smashed her hip into the skyscraper. Glass shattered and concrete crumbled. The steel frame bent and groaned, then gave out.
As she walked away from the immense tower, it crumbled into dust and ash.
She loved being this huge. Her height increased with every step and destroyed building. None of the Pokemon could stop her, and their attacks barely even tickled. Ace trainers emerged from the shadows and tried to defeat her with their team of high leveled sweepers, but hyperbeams bounced off her fur, fire blasts barely even sizzled, and a hydropump did nothing other than wet her fur.
They all fell from a Draining Kiss or a quick jolt of electricity.
As she skipped through the heart of the city, her playful movements crushing everything unfortunate enough to be under her paws, she wondered how that funny Clefairy found a bow this powerful. However she did it, she knew how to have fun. This was the best!
She hopped forward, landed with a massive impact, kicked her foot out as she spun, and destroyed all the buildings in a ring around her. The sound of their glass shattering and steel erupting was the most beautiful thing she had ever heard. Except for her own singing, of course. Couldn't top that.
As the skyscrapers around her fell, something new caught her eye. A few blocks away was the city's stadium, lit up with a thousand bits of neon and searchlights moving through the sky. It looked so tantalizing against the orange sunset sky. Her ears twitched. Did she hear music coming from there?
She did! And she recognized it too! She never thought she'd be able to see her favorite band live, but now it seemed very, very much within her reach. With a smirk and a spin, she began her trek toward the stadium.
She didn't bother following the flow of the streets. When she came to a building, she just kicked her way through it. They all crumbled with barely any effort anyway. People and Pokemon shouted at her as she went, and she could feel the occasional tickle of an attack on her feet, but she didn't bother interacting with it. There'd be time to mess around with all the little Pokemon soon enough.
For now, she had her heart set on something bigger.
The stadium always looked so huge when she was a normal sized Pichu. Now, the top lip barely reached her chest. She came to the edge, placed her hands on the roof, and peered into the great bowl below her. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of Pokemon sat in the seats surrounding the stage and cheered in time with the music. In the center of everything was the main performance, a group of four Pokemon surrounded by lights and glittering.
Her eyes moved from Obstagoon, the group?s glam rock leader singer, to her Toxtricity guitarists, then Rillaboom in the back who carried the song with his steady rhythm. The laser lights flashed as they reached the song?s high point, with pyrotechnics shooting into the sky. It was amazing... though a little underwhelming from Pichu's scale.
She wanted a closer look.
With a quick chop, she smashed the outskirts of the arena. Tiny Pokemon fell from the seats and tumbled hundreds of feet to the ground as the support structures bent and buckled. Clouds of smoke and smashed concrete filled the air as the damage propagated outward in a pattern of destruction. When it finished, the band had gone quiet and the Pokemon in the stands were screaming. A hole nearly as wide as Pichu had been ripped in the stadium, and now she could simply walk inside.
And that's what she did. With a smile, she lifted her foot, kicked through the smashed concrete, and slammed her paw down onto a large chunk of the destroyed rubble. All around her, tiny Pokemon ran and pushed against each other in a desperate attempt to flee the stadium. There wasn't enough room in the narrow exits, leading to chaos as she walked toward the center.
``Hello,'' she said with a grin when she arrived at the stage. It looked a lot less impressive than she imagined it would be, but that was one of the few downsides of being as huge as a stadium. The stage looked like something you'd build for a doll. ``I'm a big fan,'' she continued. ``I've listened to your music for a while, and you're the reason I wanted to become an idol sensation. What do you think of my outfit? Cute, right?''
The band stared up at her, completely stunned. Obstagoon grabbed the microphone, snapped out of her astonishment, and said, ``What the hell do you think you're doing? You can't just break through the stadium like this!''
``I mean, I did. So I think I can.''
``What's wrong with you? You can't do something like this!''
Pichu laughed. ``Why not? I'm big, I can do whatever I want.''
``Well for starters, ya didn't even pay for a ticket.''
Pichu frowned. ``I thought you were supposed to be punk rock.''
``There's a difference between singing about something and destroying an entire city!''
Pichu looked around the arena. Pokemon were still pushing and shoving toward the exits while the stage lights flickered on and off in their pre-programmed patterns. This entire event was less impressive than she thought it would be. She sighed. They say never meet your idols, right?
``Here, let me show you how this is supposed to be done,'' she said as she rolled her shoulders and charged her power.
``W... what?'' the Obstagoon said. ``Someone, stop her!''
The two Toxtricity ran forward and strummed their chests, producing huge waves of sound. The Rillaboom slammed his drums and made the ground shake. Security pokemon from all around the stadium tried to attack her with a myriad of moves, but they barely did anything more than tickle. She was simply too big for an individual Pokemon to touch anymore, even if they were someone as ``big'' and important as her former idols.
But that was fine. She could be her own idol now. With a smile, a spin, and a twist, she jumped into the air and let out one of her favorite moves. Giant sized stars of pure energy erupted into the world, spun overhead while leaving trails of glittering lights in their wake, then slammed into the surrounding stadium and erupted in blasts of pure, raw power. The explosions destroyed everything.
The steel structures of the stadium shattered. The electrical systems powering the stage were overloaded. Eruptions filled the air with fire as the stadium tumbled into dust, demolishing the nearby buildings and infrastructure along with it. By the time the glittering explosions finished and the dust cleared, nothing was left.
``Dang, I think I overdid it again,'' Pichu said as she glanced around. She didn't see anything left on the ground, not even the stage and the band, but a few helicopters flew overhead. She winked at them as they passed. ``Still, that was a super cute Swift, right?''
The ground trembled as she walked. She always thought the city was so huge and intimidating, especially for a small Pichu still trying to make a name for herself. The buildings were massive and loomed over her head. The transit system was too complicated, and everyone pushed and shoved wherever they went. It was huge, intimidating, and too much.
Now, it looked like a toy. A city made for dolls that she could mess with and play with however she wanted. The buildings on the outskirts of the city crumbled under her feet as she walked forward and smooshed them into dust. Trains broke when she stomped on them, bridges collapsed when she put any weight onto their supports, and even those immense skyscrapers that she once thought were so cool and tall were barely worth considering. She broke them in half with a swing of her tail.
Most Pokemon still screamed and ran away from her as she trampled through the city. They shouted incoherent things and sprinted to whatever pathetic hiding places they could find, and there were always a few helicopters circling her head. She even saw herself on one of the larger screens in the center of the city during a news broadcast. They thought she was a titan!
Well... they weren't wrong.
But some people actually understood how awesome and amazing she was! Every now and then she'd find a cluster of Pokemon standing on top of a building, shouting and waving at her. One group even made signs, though they were too small to read.
She smiled when she came across another tiny group on top of a skyscraper that reached close to her chest. With a skip in her step, she hopped over to them and giggled. She could make out a few different types of Pokemon in the grouping. Some of them were larger Pokemon, like an Ursaring and a Nidoking, but there were a lot of smaller Pokemon too. A cute little scorbunny caught her eye when it jumped up and did a fiery spin. It was adorable.
They saw what she was. They understood she was an adorable titan who should be idolized, not feared. ``Thank you, thank you,'' she said to the small group of followers. ``I love you all. What do you think of my bow? Cute, isn't it?'' The group shouted as one in agreement.
``I know, right?'' She beamed a smile. ``Why can't everyone in the city be like you guys? Then I could put on a concert, or maybe gather everyone up in one place and...'' she paused as a slight tingle tickled the back of her head. She felt heat moving around her fur, though it dissipated quickly. ``Huh? What's that?'' She glanced over her shoulder and found a military helicopter circling near her head. It launched another missile that struck the base of her ear with similar effect.
``One second,'' she said to her group of followers. ``Just need to deal with this pest.'' With a smirk, she spun around, jumped into the air, and smashed the helicopter out of the sky with her tail. In an explosion of fire and metal, it careened downward until it smashed into another building.
The ground shook as she landed, followed by a huge puff of dirt and smoke. ``Okay! Helicopter defeated. How would you guys like a show now that we're... alone.'' She frowned. The building the tiny Pokemon were on top of had collapsed. She must have smacked it with her tail as she spun around without even realizing it.
She sighed again. ``Stupid construction people. Can't even build a skyscraper to withstand a wag of my tail.''
With each step she took, with every building that fell under her might, and with every car smashed to pieces under her paw, she grew bigger. Soon there wasn't a single structure in the once grand city that could compare to her. She didn't even need to smack into anything to destroy it. Her footsteps alone were enough.
She loved being huge, though. It was so much fun stomping through the neighborhoods she had spent so much time in. Parks disintegrated under her paw, trees snapped, buildings crumbled, and all those things she once had to look up towards became no more than piles of rubble. Soon, she'd destroy the entire city, and she'd be the greatest thing to ever stand. Well, that was already the case, but still.
She paused as a flash of blue and red caught her eye. A good amount of the city already lay in ruins, with fires spreading through the rubble, casting the buildings in a red haze. Clouds moved overhead and blocked the stars. Even the helicopters and planes seemed fewer than before.
She saw the flash again. It came from one of the few buildings still standing near the center of the city. Her footsteps trembled the Earth as she walked closer to it until she could just barely make out the little Pokemon standing on top of it. Strange, she didn't recognize them. They were some type of dog or lion Pokemon, but they looked unfamiliar.
``Halt, you vile villain!'' one of them called out. ``We have seen the destruction you hath caused, and we shall not allow it! While we stand, you shall not break a single Pokemon more!'' The second cut across the air in front of him with a sudden slash from the sword clenched in his mouth. ``Evil hath no place in this world! You shall be cut down unless you surrender!''
Pichu almost laughed. ``Surender? I'm sorry, but did you see what I did to the last Pokemon who told me to stop? Besides, I'm no villain! I'm beautiful! I'm just giving the tiny Pokemon of this world what they want, while having a little fun.'' She smiled as she lowered herself closer to the duo. ``Who are you, anyway?''
``It is I!'' said the first, his face surrounded by a mighty shield. ``Zamazenta, defender of this region and bane to evil worldwide!''
``And I as well,'' said the second, ``Zacian, the one who will defeat the darkest shadows.'' ``Your path of evil is at an end,'' Zamazenta continued. ``We hath defeated countless abominations before, and you shall only be the next in line. Your history will be short, remembered only for your brief period of violence before...''
She flicked Zamazenta off the roof. With only a slight movement of her fingers, the tiny Legendary was sent sailing into the horizon, its body no more than a blip against the sky until it crashed through the clouds and joined the stars.
``Sorry, but I didn't like that abomination bit.'' She shrugged as she turned to Zacian, who stood agape. ``So are we going to battle or something? You look like you want to battle.'' Zacian steeled himself. ``I shall never be defeated!'' he shouted as he grasped his sword in his mouth, leaped forward, then delivered his most savage attack. With his Behemoth Blade bathed in raw power, he cut through the air and delivered a Giga Impact that could have defeated any Pokemon in history.
But it couldn't even cut through Pichu's fur.
``You done?'' she asked when Zacian returned to the building, exhausted and overwhelmed. ``Great! Then let me show you my super cool move. I've been saving this one.
Ready?''
``I hath never seen such...''
``Okay, great.'' She spun in an adorable circle as her power charged. Electricity arced through the air and the clouds above their heads as the ground seemed to glow with an unspeakable accumulated charge. Her pink outfit spiraled outward with her movements as her bow glittered. Then, she let loose the greatest, flashiest attack a Pokemon could ever unleash. Thunder roared through the city. Lightning bolts crashed into buildings and demolished them, explosions rocked the world, and clouds were ripped apart by the sheer amount of current shooting through the air. For a moment, the entire region was bathed in sparkling light as it reflected off her beautiful outfit.
When it faded, the city was no more than a sparking crater, completely obliterated and demolished. There was no sign of the legendary Pokemon, or any other citizen of the city. ``I had a feeling that would happen.''
Her footsteps shook the core of the Earth. Her smile was more radiant than the sun. Her bow sparkled with every movement. As Pichu walked across the planet's surface, she did so with pure delight and joy, for nothing could compare to her. Mountains became craters when she stomped on top of them. Oceans boiled as her feet came down. A swish of her tail became a hurricane to decimate whatever lay in its path.
She wasn't city sized anymore, she was as large as a continent. Nothing could stop her, nothing could even hope to draw her attention. Humans sent their bombs and machines of war, but the flashes weren't even noticeable from her place miles above them. When her foot came down on a city, she didn't even feel the crunch of the steel buckling and the glass shattering. She was above that now.
She was, without question, the greatest Pokemon to ever exist. All her dreams had come true, and now everyone in the world looked up to her. Some cowered in fear and tried to hide underground. That was fine, everyone had to deal with a few haters now and then, but most Pokemon saw her as the idol she was. A god to be worshipped.
And that meant she only had one thing left. She was going to give the world what they wanted to see!
With a song in her heart, she sang and danced her way across the globe, leaving molten footprints in her wake. Now everyone could hear her voice.
