The diaper sat beneath him like a white plastic promise of worse things to come.
Jude dangled by his pink pony briefs, wedgied six feet above the ground, his purple fur flushed with embarrassment, his white-tipped tail lashing uselessly behind him. The crowd's laughter had become a constant hum.
Headstrong's ear-arm gave a playful tug. Jude yelped.
"Oh, he's sensitive," the hare observed.
Wedgie Master floated closer, phone still recording. "Again."
YANK.
"STOP--!"
YANK.
"PLEASE--!"
YANK YANK YANK!
The pink briefs stretched. The elastic screamed. The little rainbow-maned ponies distorted into as the fabric thinned and thinned and then–!
RRRRRIP!
The sound echoed across the park like a gunshot.
Jude felt the waistband snap against his lower belly. He felt the sudden release of pressure. He felt the cool afternoon air where fabric used to be.
The shredded remains of his MLP briefs fluttered down around him like obscene confetti, landing around the unfolded diaper beneath.
And Jude, self-styled hero, hung there completely naked from the waist down.
His fur did very little to hide anything. His little nub was on full display.
The crowd went quiet for exactly one second.
Then absolute pandemonium.
"SOMEONE GET THIS ON TIKTOK!"
"HE'S SO TINY DOWN THERE!"
"MOMMY WHY IS THE CAT NAKED?!"
Jude tried to curl into a ball. He couldn't. Headstrong's ear-arms had him by the armpits now. The hare had shifted grip the moment the briefs gave out. Jude's legs kicked at empty air. His tail wrapped around his thigh in a futile attempt at modesty. His green eyes were wet. His white muzzle was trembling.
"Please," he whispered. "Please, I'll do anything. Just let me go. Come on! COME OOOON!"
Wedgie Master tilted his head. "Aww. Listen to the kitty beg."
Hypno-Mouse stepped forward, golden visor glinting. "Lower him."
Headstrong grinned. "Slowly?"
"Excruciatingly slow."
The ear-arms began to descend.
Jude felt every inch of that drop. His tail uncurled from his thigh and tried to push up, away from the diaper, as if he could levitate through sheer willpower. His hips twisted. His entire body went rigid.
"Nonononono~!"
His bare rear end hovered six inches above the white plastic.
Five inches.
Four.
Jude squeezed his eyes shut. His tail tucked between his legs. His little nub pressed against his belly. Three inches.
Two.
One.
Squish.
The diaper was softer than he expected. That somehow made it worse.
His butt touched down on the padded landing zone. The plastic backing crinkled obscenely. The leg cuffs brushed against his inner thighs. The front panel flopped up against his belly like a white flag. Jude's eyes snapped open. He tried to scramble up, to throw himself off the diaper and make a run for it, naked bottom and all…!
Headstrong's ear-arms pressed him back down.
Plop.
Jude landed flat on his back. His head bounced once against the ground, making his eyes spin. His arms and legs splayed out like a tipped-over turtle. His tail went completely limp.
Little cartoon stars circled his head in a lazy orbit.
Ding ding ding.
The crowd oohed.
"Did he just faint?" someone asked.
"Nah," Robbie said. "He does that when his pride takes a critical hit. Give him a second."
Three seconds passed. The stars faded. Jude blinked.
He was lying on his back. On a diaper. Naked from the waist down. In front of dozens of strangers. With phone cameras still rolling.
His brain rebooted just in time to see Hypno-Mouse kneeling beside him, holding the diaper's front tabs. "NO!" Jude sat up so fast he nearly headbutted the mouse. His hands flew down to grab the front of the diaper, clutching it against his belly. "No no no no NO-you are NOT strapping this on me! This is NOT happening…!"
Hypno-Mouse didn't even look at him. "Headstrong."
The hare's ear-arms pinned Jude's wrists to his sides.
"I SAID NO-!"
Tape. One side.
"I'M NINETEEN YEARS OLD!"
Tape. The other side.
"I SAVED A KID TODAAAY~!"
Tape. The left leg cuff.
"ABAABBABABAAHAAAA!”
Tape. The right leg cuff.
The diaper was on.
Snug. Secure. Crinkly.
Hypno-Mouse sat back and admired his work. "Perfect fit."
Jude looked down at himself. The white plastic rose over his hips in a cute bulge. The little wetness indicator stripe, still yellow, for now, ran down the middle like a countdown clock. His purple fur poked out over the leg cuffs. His tail emerged from a custom-cut hole in the back.
A diaper his size was just something they happened to have? No! They had all planned this!
Wedgie Master floated up and grabbed Jude by the back of the diaper's waistband to lift him in a diaper wedgie. He carried the diapered cat over to the park's central fountain and presented him to the crowd like a game show host showing off a prize.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" Robbie's voice boomed. "BEHOLD! THE INFECTIOUS D-I-A-P-E-R IMP!"
Jude covered his face with his hands.. His white muzzle was burning purple with blush.
A news van was pulling up. Of course a news van was pulling up.
Channel 4. The big one. The one with the helicopter.
A reporter in a blue blazer was already out of the van, mic in hand, camera operator sprinting behind her.
She smiled.
"We're live in five," she told her cameraman. "Get the diaper in frame."
Jude made a sound like a teakettle.
Wedgie Master set him down on the ground, right on his padded bottom, which crinkled again, and stepped back so the camera had a clear shot. Headstrong and Hypno-Mouse flanked him like terrible backup dancers.
The reporter raised her mic. The red light on the camera blinked on.
"This is Carla Mendez reporting live from Centennial Park, where an extraordinary scene is unfolding. The local vigilante known as The Infectious Imp-!"
Jude shook his head violently behind his paws. No no no!
"-has been unmasked and, as you can see, re-dressed by the infamous group of villains known as The Brat Pack."
The camera zoomed in.
Jude's green eyes peeked between his fingers. He saw his own reflection in the lens. Purple cat. White muzzle. Diaper.
He lowered his hands just enough to press them to his cheeks, in a pose of pure, theatrical horror. The reporter kept going. "We're receiving reports that this all began when Imp attempted to rescue a young girl from a bin earlier today. That girl is safe, but as you can see, the hero did not fare as well." The Brat Pack fist-bumped behind him.
"According to social media metrics, footage of the incident has already garnered over twelve million likes across various platforms. We're seeing comments such as-" she glanced at her phone "-'He's the diaper delivery boy now,' and 'My little pony doesn’t rep for someone this pathetic,' and-"
Jude let out a strangled gasp.
"-'Finally a hero my baby brother can relate to."
The crowd howled.
The camera caught everything.
His trembling. His glossy eyes. His SHAME!
Wedgie Master floated up beside the reporter and tapped her shoulder. "Hey. Tell them about the mask." Carla Mendez turned to the camera. "We can also confirm that the villain known as Wedgie Master has publicly unmasked the Imp, revealing his civilian identity. We are choosing not to broadcast that name at this time-"
"JUDETH JADES," Robbie shouted directly into the mic. "He's NINETEEN. He lives above a pizza shop. He's single, ladies."
Jude stopped breathing.
"-however, that information is now widely available on social media," Carla continued smoothly, stepping away from Robbie. "We will continue to update this breaking story as more details emerge. Back to you in the studio."
Jude sat on his diaper. In front of a public fountain. In front of a crowd. In front of a news crew. His face was on television. His name was on the internet. His underwear situation was a global trending topic.
His eyes were white and a little crying anime ghost seemed to be exiting from the corner of his mouth. He looked like he just died of shame.
The Brat Pack turned to leave. Headstrong gave Jude a final pat on the head. "See you next time, Imp." Hypno-Mouse didn't say anything. He just smiled.
Wedgie Master flew backward, phone still recording, his light black cape streaming behind him. "Say bye-bye to the nice people, diaper cat!"
Jude didn't say bye-bye. He sat there.
The crowd began to disperse, but not all of them. Some stayed. Watching. Waiting. Phones still up. Jude’s eyes twitched.
The wetness indicator stripe turned blue.
The diaper swelled. It was warm. It was humiliating. It was audible.
Jude heard it. The crowd heard it. The few remaining phones definitely heard it.
Someone whispered, "Did he just…?"
"Yeah."
"In the diaper?"
"He's literally wearing a diaper. Where else was it gonna go?"
The headline on every phone read the same thing: BREAKING NEWS: HERO UNMASKED AND DIAPERED
