So I DID have this idea planned around October, but I just kept blanking on how to make it work... in the end, I decided to not go all out with his design and focus on the important bits. This is my attempt at a jiangshi OC!
Enoki is an ant noble who was overtaken by parasitic fungus, eventually succumbing to it. However, the same fungi that killed him preserved his body remarkably well. A talisman, usually made to control the hungry spirits of zombies, in turn brought him back to life with little memory of who he was. The thin stalks sprouting from the back of his head reminded him of an edible mushroom, of which he takes his name.
This amnesiac bug has made a good life for himself, though, and is dominating the Yurashian martial arts scene. The variety of mushrooms sprouting from his head, shoulders, arms, and torso almost replicate the look of a noble, allowing him to pass as uniformed despite being virtually naked.
