Fiye the Nidoran was born into the Haavok Clan, where survival isn’t taught—it’s expected. The highlands are harsh, carved by wind and stone, and the clan has learned to thrive by respecting their limits and enforcing them just as strictly on their own. From a young age, Fiye understood the rules: stay within the borders, trust the clan, and never underestimate what waits beyond the ridgelines. But understanding those rules never stopped her from questioning them.

Background/History

Unlike many of her kin, Fiye’s attention drifts outward. Stories of the outside world reach the clan in fragments: traders passing through, wounded wanderers, hushed warnings from elders. To most, those stories are cautionary. To Fiye, they’re invitations wrapped in danger.

She isn’t reckless—far from it. Fiye knows exactly why the clan stays where it does. She’s seen what happens when someone underestimates the wilds, when curiosity turns into carelessness. That awareness is what keeps her grounded, even as her thoughts wander. She trains, she listens, she follows orders when it matters. But there’s always a part of her holding back—not out of fear, but out of anticipation. Like she’s preparing for something she hasn’t allowed herself to do yet.

Fiye has developed a habit of collecting knowledge in small, quiet ways. She asks questions others don’t think to ask, studies the patterns of weather, tracks unfamiliar scents longer than necessary. She memorizes paths, not just within the highlands, but toward their edges. Not because she plans to leave recklessly—but because if she ever does, she refuses to do it blindly.

Her place in the clan is stable, but not entirely understood. Some see her curiosity as a weakness, others as a phase she’ll outgrow. A few recognize it for what it is: a different kind of strength. Fiye isn’t trying to reject her home—she’s trying to understand the world beyond it. And one day, when the pull of the unknown outweighs the comfort of the familiar, she may finally step past the boundary she’s spent so long studying.
