Alright everyone, so I'm back with some more new fan-art drawings/sketches! And in this session of fan-art drawings, I present to you another new cartoon character! Who I've also never drawn before up until now hehe.

So who is this character? This is Jeff! From the french cartoon "Forest Friends" (or Les Copains de la Forêt). My FAVORITE character in the entire series! I just absolutely love & adore Jeff lol. When I first got into this cartoon, the moment I laid eyes on Jeff, I absolutely took a STRONG interest in him, as a character. As he has not only a cute appearance, but he also has slight hints of character development. More on that in a bit.

I've mentioned the basic history of this cartoon before in another sketch of a different character. But basically I'll give you a quick rundown (for those who are just tuning in & seeing this). Basically, Forest Friends is a french cartoon. Produced from 06, to 07.

Shown only in France & the UK (as far as I know), It has only 1 season, 52 episodes. And was shown in both French & English. Though, english episodes right now are impossible to come by (there's only one English episode that I'm aware of right now lol).

So, this is another character shown in this cartoon. So as mentioned, this character's name is Jeff. And yes, he is a squirrel (though, he lacks a bushy tail) lol. And from what the short description says, he's "an athletic squirrel" who used to live in a town called "squirrel city" lol. And from what I've seen in the series, it looks like he's also into stuff like fishing, sports, solving puzzles, his crush/girlfriend Naomi, hanging out with his friends, etc.

And from what I've witnessed & examined in episodes, Jeff has the tendency to get bossy & jealous easily. And when he plays sports (or gets into activities, like a contest) he's VERY competitive lmao. Always wants to be a winner, always wants that trophy or reward. And gets PISSED, if he loses lmao. And sometimes he tends to go through moments where he puts himself down, loses confidence, etc.

But in the end, Jeff has a good heart. And there's signs/instances in the series that shows that. From the little things like asking Gladys' if she wanted to dance (when she didn't know how to), comforting/encouraging Danny a couple of different times. And then there's even instances where he goes the extra mile, to show that he DOES care. And will do anything to show it. Even if it nearly puts his life on the line lol.

Like one instance where Naomi (his girlfriend/crush) temporarily ended her friendship with him. He climbed near the top of a mountain, DURING a blizzard (to fly the flag symbolizing love). And even though it was dangerous (and also ended up getting sick with a cold because of it), he wanted to make it clear that he does care about her & will do anything to make her happy. There was also a scene (in another episode) where Naomi almost drowned and he jumped in & saved her life.

Then there was also an instance where a bridge broke, and Danny held on for dear life. Trying not to fall down to the ground below. And so, Jeff offered him his hand & helped pull Danny up. But all while doing that, the two character's switched roles. And Jeff lost his balance & ended up falling himself, and now HE needed to be saved lmao. But at least Danny was saved, due to Jeff's actions. And eventually Jeff ended up letting go, and fell & landed a soft pile of leaves that the kids down below helped set up. So he could jump & not get hurt lol.

But see, those are just a couple of instances where was willing to put himself on the line to help the ones he loves lmao. Again, definitely has a good head on his shoulders. Despite his "moments" sometimes lmao. But he's willing to do what's right, will admit when he's wrong, will do anything for his friends & the ones he loves, etc.

And another thing that's interesting too, is that Jeff is an only child. Who lives with just his mother (Jenny), and his father (Jack). Though, he was shown to also have a cousin in the series too (named Gideon). Though I'm sure Jeff's extended family, extends MUCH farther than that lol. But that's what was shown in the series.

Alright, with all of that out of the way, let's go ahead & get into the drawing side of things hehe. So this here is the first sketch I made of Jeff. And the reference I used to make this drawing, came from the 25th episode "The Big Spring Ball" (which ironically, is the ONLY english episode that seems to be available as of right now in 2026). And I figured this pose/expression would a perfect thing to draw out one day. And well, last year back in 2025, was when I turned the idea of drawing fan-art of Jeff, into a reality lol.

So one night back in late October 2025, was when I spent a night sketching out 4 drawings of Jeff. And once everything was sketched out, I then got to work on this drawing first. Naturally lol. However I've come to learn, if I thought coloring in Danny was hard, Jeff is even WORSE.......Lmao. As his skin tone, is VERY unique & complex to get just right. And you don't want to color him in too dark. Which, I feel like I did in a couple of the sketches I made of him......Meh lmao. Whatever, I can only do whatever so much as a traditional artist lol.

So given that I tried taking my time coloring Jeff in & such (since this was my first time making a fan-art sketch of him), this drawing took me almost an entire day to finish. Just this little sketch, took me an entire day & some of the evening to fully complete. But in the end, it got done. And overall, I'm pretty satisfied with how this one turned out overall.

So here is the finished result! For your viewing pleasure lol. So just a simple portrait/sketch of Jeff from Forest Friends. Doing a cute, curious expression :3 Lol. Again when I saw the expression, I just kinda knew I had to draw it eventually. And well, I finally did lmao. And again, overall I'm very happy with it & how it turned out. The facial expression, and even the coloring I'm happy with in this one too. Again, I tried to take it slow & easy for more accurate results lol.
