n a rational moment, Tom at least attempts to explain the reason for his attempt. It is true that, after nine months of enrollment at a rehabilitative school, he may just be feeling differently now. But with a nice life, a good family, and a reasonable number of friends with little abuse, it is--and will remain--a grim mystery why such a person would consider ending that life.
