M: "A Competition for The Treasure!"

It was a sunny day in the Mushroom Kingdom. All the Toads were having fun at the beach, playing and enjoying beach day activities.

Although in an area really far from where the Toads were, there was none other than Bowser, lying down enjoying the sun while several of his minions were at his command.

Two Koopas fanned enormous leaves to cool him down, a Goomba brought him refreshing drinks, and a Shy Guy massaged his spiky shell.

Meanwhile, Bowser Jr., Bowser's son, was bothering the little crabs and thinking he was the prince of the sea.

"Oh man, this is the life. I'm in a good sunny day, I'm relaxed, and my boy is having a great time." Bowser commented, completely relaxed, while receiving another drink.

L: Some distance away though, another person seems to be around: A crocodile-like biped, maybe about the size of Bowser, and wearing a crown. They don't seem to be there to relax, but it's not quite clear what exactly they're planning just yet, as they seem to be checking what looks like a map.

M: That was K. Rool, who had recently found a treasure map to a treasure called the Emerald Diamond, he was standing on a balcony reading the map.

"Your Majesty, are you still reading that piece of paper?" a Kritter asked, watching K. Rool reading that map.

L: K Rool nods. "Have to make sure this is the right spot. I don't want to put in all the effort of diving down there and searching around only to realize AFTER that that we're a few miles off."

M: "Yeah, Do you remember that time you thought there was a supposed treasure chest in the sea, but it turned out to be just a rock shaped like a chest, HAHAHA, god, I still remember that!" Kritter laughed, though his laughter faded when he saw K. Rool's expression, annoyed that he was making fun of him.

L: "Never letting that happen again. I felt like a complete idiot. But this is going to make up for that, we're going to get rich this time!"

M: Just then, a strong gust of wind came up, and trying to shield himself from the wind, K. Rool dropped the map, which was blown away by the wind.*

"Oh no! The map!" The Kritter exclaimed.

L: "No, come back!" K Rool rushes after the map, trying his best to catch it knowing he'd be missing out on a ton of money if he lost it.

M: *Unfortunately, the map flew away, leaving K. Rool quite frustrated and angry. *

L: "DAMN IT!" K Rool growls in frustration, now not having much idea of what to do. He can only really hope he's not that far off from where the treasure is.

M: ""Don't worry, Your Majesty, uh, I... I'll go see if I can recreate the map correctly!" he proposed nervously; he didn't want to deal with an angry K. Rool.

L: "You better, I saw that you were looking at it too." After a moment, he sighs, sitting down while trying to plan what to do if it doesn't work out.

M: Meanwhile, Bowser Jr. continued playing with the little crabs, bothering them and thinking he was the prince of the beach, although at that moment, Bowser Jr. thought he saw a piece of paper flying nearby, but it seemed to have something drawn!

L: Putting aside his "kingdom" for the moment, Jr tries to catch the paper, curious about what it might be.

M: ""Come here, flying paper! I want to see what you're carrying!" Bowser Jr. ordered as he skipped around, and in a moment, he managed to catch the paper and smiled. "Jackpot!"

L: Bowser Jr. triumphantly takes a good look at the paper to see what he's managed to get. He quickly realizes it sort of looks like a map, and that it might be pointing toward somewhere that's not too far...

M: "Oooh, an emerald diamond? I have to show this to Dad!" He exclaimed, running towards where Bowser was.

When he arrived, Bowser opened one eye and saw Junior jumping for joy, which made him order his minions to stop momentarily.

"What's up, Junior? Did you find anything?" Bowser asked curiously.

Bowser Jr. stops hopping around and hands the map to Bowser, with a big smile on his face.

""Look, it's a treasure map! It's for an emerald diamond that looks super cool!" Bowser Jr. exclaimed, and as he glanced at the map, which showed the path to that treasure, which appeared to be inside an underwater cave and inside a kind of ancient underwater temple.

L: Bowser: "Oh, that does sound great! It looks like it might even be close by, too... Maybe I ought to go check that out."

M: "See, Dad? We'll be rich! We just have to go after that treasure!" Bowser Jr. exclaimed, very excited.

However, Bowser wouldn't dream of taking Bowser Jr. on a dangerous adventure, especially underwater, because the map specifies that the cave was 5 meters deep underwater.

"Oh no, no, no, what do you mean, we? "I'll go and find that treasure; it's too dangerous even for you," Bowser commented in an overprotective tone.

L: Bowser Jr.: "What!? Come on, it's gonna be so cool! I'll be careful, I promise!"

M: Bowser looked at Bowser Jr. with a serious expression while the minions took the opportunity to rest.

Bowser: No means no. I don't want you putting yourself in danger down there. Leave it to the adults like me. Bowser commented while holding the map.

Bowser Jr. got very annoyed and kicked some sand, crossing his arms.

Bowser. Jr: "You're not funny!" he exclaimed, very annoyed, stamping his foot on the floor.

Bowser couldn't help but let out a small laugh and grabbed Bowser Jr. to lift him onto his shoulder.

Bowser: Alright everyone, let's head back to the castle. We need to prepare one of our ships; there's a treasure to be found! Bowser said in his imposing voice, making his minions obey and leave quickly.

L: Bowser Jr.: "Fine, whatever, I won't go..." Of course, he doesn't actually mean that, he's just saying it so Bowser won't be worried. He intends to do whatever he can to follow Bowser once they head on their way to get the treasure.

M: The scene changes and Bowser is seen ordering all his minions as they prepare a ship to sail directly to where the treasure was supposedly located, while Bowser Jr. was bothering dome Goombas for fun.

Bowser. Jr: "Come on, walk faster, or I'll tell my dad you're not doing anything and he'll burn your faces!" he exclaimed with evil giggles, making the Goombas panic and run for work faster

After several minutes, Bowser's ship was ready, a large gate opened, and the ship began to sail.

Bowser: Very well! Emerald Diamond, here I come! exclaimed the King Koopa as he stood at the front of the ship.

L: Meanwhile, Bowser Jr. is hidden below the ship's deck, smiling as he's proud of himself for his plan working out.

M: Bowser. Jr: I have the perfect idea. I'm going to pretend I'm being taken care of, but when Dad least expects it, I'm going to sneak in. I don't know how, but I'll do it, hehe!

Meanwhile, on Crocodile Island, K. Rool, or rather, Kapitan K. Rool, is seen putting on his hat and his big red jacket because he was ready to go after that emerald diamond and just Kritter arrived, who already had the recreation of the map ready, which was ugly but at least indicated where the treasure was.

"Take it, kaptain, it's very ugly, but I did the best I could," said the Kritter, handing the piece of paper to Kapitan K. Rool.

L: K Rool takes the recreated map and looks it over. "...Well, it's better than nothing. Maybe it'll still work."

M: The redrawn map showed the same path, an underwater cave 5 meters deep with a long tunnel leading to an underwater temple where the emerald diamond is located in the center, although Kapitan K. Rool knew there were traps in that place, many traps, some could leave someone breathless, others could finish you off, but he would take the risk for that diamond.

L: After reviewing the map, K Rool nods to the Kritter. "This should be fine. We'll set out for the treasure right away, then."

M: ""Okay, Kapitan, I'll go tell the other Kremlings to prepare the ship. We're going after that Emerald Diamond!" he exclaimed as he ran off, and Kapitan K. Rool took the opportunity to grab his bazooka, he felt that he was going to need it.

L: "No temple's gonna beat me... Heh, better start thinking about what to get with all the money from the emerald diamond..."

M: Captain K. Rool began to imagine what he would do if he got the emerald diamond: he could buy himself a much cooler new crown, get a much bigger ship, or even lots and lots of bananas!

L: He chuckles to himself. "Maybe I could even retire... If I didn't like my job so much."

M: Kapitan K. Rool simply decided to reload his bazooka with kannonballs and went to his ship, All the Kremlings celebrated upon seeing him because it was exciting to see Kapitan K. Rool again.

L: K Rool smiles at them. "Right, are we all ready? Let's go get us that treasure!"

M: "Yes, treasure! Let's go for that treasure!" exclaimed the Kremlings as they prepared absolutely everything.

Meanwhile, back on Bowser's ship, Bowser was checking the map while Bowser Jr. was being looked after by some minions on Bowser's orders.

"Okay Bowser Jr., remember that you have to follow all the maritime rules that your dad has and that you can't stray from us for anything in the world, or..." Said a blue-shelled Koopa who wouldn't stop from talking and talking, boring Bowser Jr.

L: Bowser Jr. stopped paying attention to that a while ago, but is acting like he's still listening. Instead, he's thinking about how proud of him Bowser's going to be when he helps them get the emerald diamond.

M: Bowser Jr: Yes, yes, I know all that... He said while looking at his dad, who still had his eye on the map.

However, Kamek, who was keeping watch on his flying broomstick, noticed that another pirate ship was approaching.

""Alert, alert, there's another big ship approaching!" Kamek exclaimed, pulling out a megaphone so everyone could hear. "Wait, that ship has a crocodile figure on the front! Could be....?"

L: Bowser Jr looks out over in that direction. "Woah... Aren't those the Kremlings? What are those guys doing here?"

M: Bowser looked up and realized that they were indeed the Kremlings, and that meant K. Rool was with them.

"Oh great, son't tell me that stupid crocodile with rotten-banana brain is coming for the treasure I'm by looking for...." Bowser remarked, annoyed, that aside from Mario, the one he hated most was K. Rool because he was a real idiot in Bowser's eyes.

Captain K. Rool notices Bowser and realizes that he had the original treasure map, becoming angry because he understood that Bowser was looking for the same treasure.

L: K Rool: "Ugh, so that's where the map ended up... There's no way I'm letting THEM get the treasure before me!"

M: Finally, both ships stopped right above where that cave was; their respective Minions said that this was the place.

"Hey you idiot crocodile with a pirate complex! Don't even think I'm going to let you steal my treasure! It's going to be completely mine!" Bowser shouted, quite furious, as he glared at Kaptain K. Rool.

L: K Rool: "Ha, you really think you'll be able to get it? There's no way you can swim better than a crocodile, turtle boy!"

M: Bowser got angry upon hearing "turtle boy" from K. Rool, flames shot out of the corners of his mouth.

Bowser: I'm a Koopa, you piece of-!

Kamek: Bowser, language!

Bowser: Ugh.... Bowser said through gritted teeth while growling at K. Rool, but then he smiled proudly. Oh well, but at least I can hold my breath underwater for a whole 36 minutes, how about that?

L: "Well, I can go 45! I'll still be going strong while you're just about at your limit, how about that?"

M: Bowser was annoyed, but then he remembered that he had the map and proceeded to show it.

"At least I have the map, and you don't, haha!" he mocked while waving the map around in his claw.

L: "I may not have that one any more, but one of my kremlings made a copy of it for me! I still know exactly where to go!" K Rool smugly shows off his copy of the map.

M: Bowser saw the map, which was really badly made, and started laughing.

"Hahahaha! "Seriously, that's supposed to be a map? Please, it looks like a drawing made by some 3-year-old Toad! Hahahaha!" Bowser mocked, infuriating K. Rool not because he was insulting a map, but because he was being mocked, not because they were mocking one of his Kremlings.

L: "Shut up, it's better than nothing! It had to be from memory, there wasn't anything better we could do!"

M: K. Rool was already fed up with wasting time, so he simply put the map in his hat and stood on the railing, ready to dive into the water.

L: "Well, if you really think you can beat me, you're welcome to give it a try... But don't come whining to me if you end up needing rescue!" With a deep breath, he dives off into the water.

M: Bowser watched as K. Rool jumped into the water, and was annoyed to see that he jumped first.

"Oh, it its ON" Bowser exclaimed angrily, putting away the treasure map and climbing onto the railing of his ship.

"My lord, wait! I don't think it's a good idea to go without some diving equipment!" Kamek said worriedly.

"I don't need some stupid diving equipment!" Bowser said as he turned to look at the water.

Bowser just took a really deep breath, holding it, pinching his nose, and leaping into the water, diving underwater.

L: Hearing Bowser's splash as he swims down, K Rool looks back for a moment to briefly watch Bowser. After grinning at them, as he's certain they're going to be losing this race, he focuses back on swimming for where he hopes the entrance to the cave is.

M: Bowser follows behind K. Rool, swimming as fast as he can. He squints because he wasn't used to the water in his eyes.

"Damn, I should have brought swimming goggles," Bowser thought as he swimmed behind K. Rool.

K. Rool was really confident in his lung capacity; not only could he hold his breath for almost an hour, but he could also speak really well underwater.

L: K Rool goes for a bit more taunting to have some fun. "Have trouble seeing down here? Too bad you're not as aquatic as I am!" His voice comes out nearly perfectly clearly.

M: Bowser glared at K. Rool, clearly annoyed. "Yobu'll sblbee, yoblu stubpid croblbcbodbile! I mblaby nbot blbe abls ablquatiblc abs yobu, bublbt I'm stblill a Koblbpbpa!" He exclaimed, although he was almost unintelligible over his bubbling.

K. Rool merely smiled mockingly at Bowser and decided to blow a few bursts of air bubbles, confident in his lung capacity.

Soon K. Rool and Bowser spotted that underwater cave where the treasure was located.

L: "Right, here's the spot... Try and keep up, turtle!" Intentionally still saying the wrong species, K Rool rushes into the cave to begin his search for the treasure.

M: Bowser gets angry and swims a little faster. K. Rool rushes in, and Bowser follows him.

""I hope there are some air pockets in this cave, or that the path to that underwater temple isn't too long..." Bowser thought as he followed K. Rool, his cheeks slightly puffy from the air in his lungs.

L: There's a little hint of nervousness visible on K Rool's face at the fact that there doesn't seem to be air around, but he still mostly looks confident. He thinks to himself, "There's definitely going to be air, just focus..."

M: K. Rool and Bowser continued swimming through that underwater tunnel, with K. Rool still in the lead and taunting Bowser, which annoyed him greatly.

L: All the taunting is helping K Rool relax again, though he makes sure to actually keep track of where he's going as well, looking for any sign of the temple the cave allegedly leads to.

M: Bowser looks at the walls for any sign of a path to that underwater temple, but then K. Rool touches a button while he's touching the walls, it was one of the traps.

"Obh gbralbebt." Bowser said, realizing that the current proceeded to push him and K. Rool against one of the walls.

L: "Ugh, I need to be more careful... Heh, at least it got you too." K Rool starts trying to fight the current and move along the wall.

M: Bowser takes advantage of this and rams into K. Rool to get ahead and escape the current, which infuriates him.

L: K Rool coughs out some bubbles as he's rammed. "Excuse me!? Oh, so it's gonna be THAT kind of race, huh?" He starts doing his best to rush out of the current and go after Bowser.

M: Bowser looked at K. Rool as he continued swimming and smiled at him in a cocky way. "Loblbok whbo's slblobw nblobw," he said, bubbling as he continued swimming.

L: "Whatever, I just didn't expect that. We're only just getting started with this place, you'll see pretty soon just how much better I am than you."

M: Bowser simply ignored what he said and they continued swimming through the tunnel. K. Rool and Bowser were fighting and pulling or bumping into each other just to be in front.

"Hmbmbmmb....." Bowser felt like his lungs were burning a little, his face was a bit red and his cheeks a little more puffed, while K. Rool was still fine.

K. Rool, who was now back in front, looked back and saw Bowser with his cheeks puffed out and found it quite funny because he looked like a pufferfish

L: "Ah, didn't realize you were part pufferfish, look at the size of those things! Seems like you might be starting to need a breath though, so I guess you've only got a little bit of pufferfish in you."

M: Bowser became annoyed and let out a frustrated growl, just as K. Rool activated a trap that fell on Bowser, which was a hammer that slammed him against the wall, causing him to hit the wall.

"OUBLCH!" Bowser exclaimed, in total pain, but beyond that, that blow caused Bowser to lose even more precious air.

K. Rool didn't pay any attention and simply continued swimming, Bowser furiously followed behind, although about 15 minutes later, Bowser's face was turning purple and his cheeks puffed out even more.

"HMBMBMMB!" He bubbled with worry, putting his claws in his mouth and kicking. K. Rool noticed and turned to look at him.

L: K Rool smirks at him. "Can't handle it much longer? Told you you couldn't beat me at this. I'd say you should go back and surface, but we both know you can't."

M: Bowser wanted to complain about what he was saying, but he didn't want to waste any more air, even though he felt increasingly short of breath and desperately wanted to breathe.

K. Rool watched as Bowser struggled, though he then thought it wouldn't be fun if Bowser drowned because it would make the race boring.

L: "...Now that I think about it, this won't really be as fun if you drown, I won't get to taunt you anymore. Let's see if we can find some air for your tiny lungs." K Rool is starting to be in need of air at this point as well, though he certainly won't admit that to Bowser.

M: Bowser looked at him a little annoyed when he said "tiny lungs", however, at that moment, he experiences a small spasm in his chest due to lack of air and releases a big burst of air bubbles.

"AABAGBLBLGBA!" Bowser bubbled with a worried and surprised expression.

L: "Heh, you're definitely not used to this... I don't exactly have experience being a lifeguard, but I'll make sure you don't drown so I can keep making fun of you."

M: K. Rool proceeded to check above to see if there was an air pockey, but there wasn't a single air pocket. And when he saw Bowser, he saw that he was bubbling a lot and trying to hold back from inhaling the air that wasn't there.

L: K Rool starts to consider giving Bowser some of his air, since while he's straining a little, he's in a much better state than Bowser... "Ugh, no, I'm never gonna hear the end of it if I do that...", he thinks to himself.

M: K. Rool didn't want to kiss Bowser, even to give him some air, because he considered it disgusting, but seeing how Bowser was literally suffering and that there were no air pockets, he saw that he had no other choice.

L: K Rool holds back a sigh as he grabs Bowser. "Don't you dare think this means anything but that I want to keep you from drowning." After a moment of hesitation, he kisses Bowser to give them some air.

M: Bowser is surprised to receive the kiss, but decides to accept it; K. Rool started with the air kiss.

L: As much as he wants to keep the air for himself, K Rool exhales some of it into Bowser to keep them from drowning, blushing quite a bit.

M: The kiss continues until Bowser is red-faced, which means that although he still didn't have all his oxygen, he was fine, so K. Rool stops the kiss. Bowser immediately begins to wipe his lips with his claws for that kiss.

"Ublgh, thblabt wblabs GBLRBOBLBSS! Yblobur brebatblh sblmbells liblke roblbttebn blbabnlbabnas!" Bowser complained right after wiping his lips, obviously in a bubbly way, but K. Rool understood what he said.

L: K Rool wipes his mouth too. "Believe me, I hated that just as much as you do... But it's either that or trying to breathe water, and turtles don't have gills."

M: Bowser was annoyed that K. Rool kept calling him a turtle, but he knew he was right. "Okay, thanks, but now..."

Bowser took advantage of this to swim forward and take the lead. K. Rool was surprised and annoyed, following behind, although he began to feel pressure in his chest and his face was red, it seemed In addition to the many bubbles he blew out of confidence and to give Bowser some air, he was now also going to suffer from a lack of air, although for now it wasn't that big of a deal.

L: Starting to sort of regret wasting so much air on just blowing bubbles, K Rool tries his best to keep hiding his strain, as he wants to keep looking superior to Bowser as much as possible.

M: Bowser continued swimming forward, energized by the air he'd received. A few air bubbles escaped from his nostrils. He noticed K. Rool was still behind him and managed to activate a trap.

With this, K. Rool, noticing several seaweed clumps emerging to ensnare him, fortunately dodged them all and managed to overtake Bowser, but not before kicking him in the chest for a better boost.

L: While he'd hoped to also push Bowser into the trap's area, K Rool doesn't really mind that that didn't work, glad to be ahead again.

M: Bowser was annoyed when he received the kick, which made him lose some breath, but he continued on anyway.

Finally, after several minutes, K. Rool reached the underwater temple area. It was a truly beautiful place, with many pillars and inscriptions, but in the center stood the Emerald Diamond.

L: K Rool's eyes go wide as he sees the Emerald Diamond, the gem looking just as incredible as he'd expected. He immediately starts to rush toward it, forgetting about his lack of air for the moment.

M: However, Bowser arrived as well and realized that K. Rool had arrived first and was about to grab the Emerald Diamond.

"Oblh, yobu wblobn't!" Bowser exclaimed angrily through bubbles as he swam towards K. Rool, giving him a great shove before grabbing the Emerald Diamond.

L: "There's no way I'm letting you take it, it should've been mine from the start!" K Rool swims back over and tries to grab the Emerald Diamond back.

M: Bowser struggles with K. Rool over the Emerald Diamond; they both start throwing punches and kicks as each tries to grab the Emerald Diamond.

At one point, K. Rool had the idea to pull out his bazooka and fire it at Bowser, causing a kannonball to hit Bowser and launch him directly into the wall.

"AGHBLB!" Bowser complained; that impact hurt him quite a bit, although at that moment a crack was forming in the underwater temple.

L: K Rool laughs at Bowser, not quite noticing the crack. "Wasn't sure that'd still work down here! Too bad you can't counter with your fire breath underwater!"

M: Bowser glared furiously as he swam toward K. Rool, but he noticed the crack, which reached a central pillar and shattered, causing the entire area to shake and all the pillars began to crumble, becoming giant falling debris.

L: "Ugh, look what you did! This whole place is gonna be coming down now... There better be another way out!"

M: "Mbly fbaublbt?! Ybou pblusbhblbed mble ablbgbaibnsbt tblhbe wbabll wblbitbh tbhat bablbzobloka oblf ybloburs!" Bowser complained, though he put a claw over his mouth because he was using up so much air to speak. "Mmbmbm..."

However, at that moment, K. Rool and Bowser heard a loud crash and realized that two of the pillars had fallen from where they had entered.

L: "Damn it, that's really bad... Make yourself useful and look over there for a way out, I'll check the other side."

M: Bowser didn't care much about that, although at that moment, the tremor increased And debris from the ceiling began to fall, creating a hole above, but large pieces of debris fell. Bowser and K. Rol dodged as best they could, but one of the giant pieces fell on K. Rool.

L: K Rool loses a burst of bubbles from the impact, and he struggles under the debris. "D-damn it, get me out!"

M: Moreover, K. Rool released his bazooka as soon as that large, heavy piece of rubble fell on top of him, moving far away.

Bowser was surprised by what happened to K. Rool, but realized that he now had a chance to go to the surface with the Emerald Diamond, just when he needed air because his face was purple.

L: "D-don't just leave me down here!" For the first time on this dive, K Rool looks a bit scared, as he's starting to get a purple blush as well.

M: Bowser swam towards K. Rool to take the Emerald Diamond, but as he was about to swim up, he remembered the moment when K. Rool had given him air and he saw how he was struggling to get out, he was bubbling excessively and had a worried expression.

""I'm going to regret doing this..." Bowser thought as he threw the Emerald Diamond aside and got to the ground, beginning to struggle to lift the large rubble that had K. Rool trapped.

Bowser tried and tried, but the enormous rubble wouldn't budge, and to top it all off, K. Rool's face had turned blue and he put his claws over his mouth to avoid inhaling water.

L: While K Rool wants to try to help, he can barely focus on doing anything but continue to hold his breath for the moment, and even that's clearly not going to last much longer as bubbles constantly leak away. "...U-use my bazooka..."

M: Bowser understood, but first he decided to do something to prevent K. Rool from drowning. He crouched down to where he was and grabbed his snout to kiss him.

"Mmgblb...." Bowser proceeded to blow air into it; he was doing this so that K. Rool could live.

L: Now knowing how it feels to be on the receiving end of an air kiss, K Rool does feel a bit embarrassed, but it's certainly still better than drowning.

M: Bowser was giving K. Rool air until K. Rool turned red and Bowser's face turned blue, and then Bowser stopped giving him air.

""Alright..... Now, just.... go, for the.... bazooka..." Bowser thought as he swam weakly towards K. Rool's bazooka, aimed, and fired at the large piece of rubble that trapped K. Rool, making it pieces.

Once free, K. Rool began swimming toward the Emerald Diamond to grab it and quickly swam to the top of the abandoned temple to escape through the hole. Bowser followed him, but Bowser was too exhausted and his lungs were burning badly.

The scene shifts to the surface where Bowser Jr. is being scolded by the blue Koopa, because he discovered his plan to follow Bowser underwater and stopped him.

"Prince Bowser Jr.! Have you lost your mind?! How do you plan to follow your father underwater if you're not as tough as he is underwater?! And besides—!" The talkative blue Koopa continued speaking, while Bowser Jr. wasn't paying much attention and was just peeking around to see if his dad had reappeared, because it had been quite a while since he'd dived.

L: Bowser Jr is getting increasingly worried about Bowser, as while he knows they can hold their breath a long time, there's been no sign of them since they first dove down... "L-look, what if he's in trouble!? I know he's not gonna be happy to find out I came here, but I want to at least check on him!"

M: Although at that moment both members of the ships saw K. Rool resurface, gasping desperately for air, the Kremlings celebrated because their captain was alright and, on top of that, he had the Emerald Diamond.

L: K Rool is panting heavily as he swims back to his ship, where he's helped back onto it. "I-I got it... W-we're gonna be rich!"

M: "Yes, we'll be rich! We're going to get lots of bananas, long live our Kapitan!" exclaimed the happy Kremlings, surrounding K. Rool.

However, all of Bowser's minions peered over the railing, hoping that Bowser would reappear, but he did not.

""No, no, no, no..... Dad, no!" Bowser Jr. exclaimed with extreme concern. That shout reached K. Rool's ears, surprising him to hear him say "Dad" because K. Rool didn't know Bowser had a son.

L: K Rool: "Bowser has a kid...?" As he looks at Bowser Jr, he starts to feel awful about not helping Bowser... He hands the Emerald Diamond to one of the kremlings. "Don't lose it, I'll be back in a minute." He goes to the edge of the ship and starts taking some deep breaths, preparing to dive back down.

M: "Uhm, Kapitan, what are you doing? Did you forget something, was it the bazooka?" said a confused Kritter.

L: "...Yeah. I lost it down there, need to grab it again." He doesn't say the entire reason, not wanting to look like he cares about an enemy. With one more deep breath, he dives off and back underwater.

Bowser Jr decides he's not just going to sit around and do nothing, and goes to dive in as well, unaware that K Rool plans on helping Bowser as well.

M: Bowser, on the other hand, was quite far from the surface and could barely hold his breath any longer, so he couldn't take it anymore and began to inhale water, coughing as the water began to fill his lungs.

"N-no, this can't be happening to me..." Bowser thought as he continued to inhale water.

Bowser slowly closed his eyes as the water filled his lungs, with his last bit of strength he raised one of his claws to the surface, thinking that he would never see his son again.

L: But, in his fading vision, he'd be able to see Bowser Jr swimming down toward him! And... K Rool as well, for some reason.

M: ""W-What?.... Junior?..." That was his last thought before finally falling unconscious.

Just Bowser Jr. arrives with his dad, looking at him with concern, and then proceeds to grab him by the claw to try and bring him to the surface.

""Hold on, I'll save you, Dad, I won't let you drown!" thought Bowser Jr., air bubbles escaping from his snout as he pulled with all his might.

L: Much to Bowser Jr's confusion, K Rool joins in on pulling up Bowser, making it go much faster.

K Rool: "There's no way I'm leaving this kid without a dad...!"

M: Bowser Jr. is surprised to see K. Rool helping him, but he can't say anything and just pulls with all his might.

Bowser. Jr: ""Why would he be helping me?" Bowser Jr. thought, utterly confused, though at that moment he felt his lungs begin to burn a little, because unlike his dad, he could only hold his breath underwater for 14 minutes.

L: K Rool's lungs are still a bit sore from the first dive, but he doesn't care, refusing to give up. Gradually, Bowser is being brought closer to the surface, and K Rool and Bowser Jr both hope it's going to be soon enough...

M: The crews from both ships stared anxiously at the water, the Kremlings worried about their captain and Bowser's Minions worried about Bowser Jr.

L: Soon though, the three get to the surface, with Bowser Jr and K Rool both gasping.

Bowser Jr: "Someone help us, he's too heavy for us above the water!"

K Rool: "I-I could probably handle it, but I'd appreciate a hand here!"

M: Everyone was surprised, the Kremlings were shocked to see that K. Rool had decided to go after Bowser, although Bowser's Minions reacted in time and threw ropes into the water to pull the three of them out.

"Hold on tight! We're going to get you out!" exclaimed the blue Koopa, now serious about the situation.

L: With some effort, everyone gets pulled up onto the deck of Bowser's ship. K Rool lays Bowser down and starts doing CPR on him.

K Rool: "As much as I hate you, you'd better wake up..."

M: Bowser Jr. watches as K. Rool performs CPR on his father, applying repeated pressures to his chest, though he is later disgusted when he sees K. Rool lean in to "kiss" his dad.

"Ew! Why are you kissing my father?!" Bowser Jr. said in disgust.

L: K Rool: "It's the only way to get air in him right now! Believe me, I'd do it some other way if there was one, I don't want to have to do it like this!"

M: Bowser Jr. said nothing more and simply turned away while K. Rool resumed giving Bowser mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

L: K Rool keeps trying... And eventually, Bowser starts coughing as he wakes up!

K Rool: "There we go, finally..."

Bowser Jr: "Dad!" He rushes over and hugs Bowser.

M: Bowser coughs so loudly that he accidentally breathes fire and burns K. Rool's face.

L: K Rool: "OW!" He covers his face and stumbles back a bit. While it's not as bad as it could've been since his face was wet, it definitely still hurt. "Oh, so that's the thanks I get for saving you?"

M: "Thanks? What thanks?" Bowser commented, still a little confused.

"Dad, you were drowning and Mr. Crocodile and I had to save you, and Mr. Crocodile kissed you, that was disgusting!" he explained to Bowser, shocking him.

Bowser turned to look at K. Rool, who was still annoyed by his burned face.

"Did you give me... mouth-to-mouth resuscitation?" Bowser said, his voice serious and perplexed.

L: K Rool: "Only to make sure you'd still be around for the kid you apparently have. Don't expect me to help you like that again if you're being stupid."

M: Bowser remained silent and looked at Bowser Jr., who was hugging him and wagging his tail.

Bowser: "Thank you so much for saving me. If it weren't for you, I would never have seen my boy again...." Bowser said, his voice a little more subdued this time as he looked at Junior and smiled. "Don't cry, Bowser Jr., Dad's here."

L: K Rool: "Don't worry about it. Got the Emerald Diamond anyway." He starts heading back to his own ship.

Bowser Jr: "I-I was really worried you weren't gonna wake up..."

M: Bowser looks at Bowser Jr. and picks him up in his arms, looking into his eyes.

Bowser: Hey, I'm fine now, and you also proved to me that you're very brave. I thought that just because you were a kid, you wouldn't be capable of an underwater adventure, but I see I was wrong.

All of Bowser's minions say "Aaaaaw" at Bowser's words to his son.

Bowser: You know what, Junior? Next time, if there's an underwater adventure to go on, you can come with me this time, ok?

L: Bowser Jr: "O-okay, yeah! I'll make sure I get a lot of practice holding my breath so I can stay under as long as you!"

M: Bowser laughed at that, although at that moment, they noticed that K. Rool's ship was already leaving.

Bowser: ""Well, honestly, I don't care about that Emerald Diamond anymore. Let's just go back to the Mushroom Kingdom and pretend K. Rool never gave me mouth-to-mouth resuscitation." Bowser ordered, to which his minions scrambled and they took their positions.

L: Bowser Jr: "Yeah, I know that was to help you, but it looked really weird when he did that..."

M: Bowser simply looked at Bowser Jr. and patted him on the head.

"And you don't want to imagine everything that happened to me down there..." he said while ruffling Junior's hair.

L: "...Y-yeah, I don't really think I need to know what else he and you did..."

M: Bowser simply picked up Bowser Jr. and booped him on the nose.

"You know what? When we get back to the Mushroom Kingdom, we're going to spend some father-son time together to forget what happened," Bowser told to his little boy.

L: "Okay, yeah! That'll be great! I didn't really want to be out here any more anyway, after how bad things got..."

M: Bowser's ship was headed to the Mushroom Kingdom, and Bowser was thoughtful about K. Rool's selfless act of saving him.

L: At the same time, K Rool is returning home too, thinking about the same thing. "Never thought I'd actually help an enemy before... But as much as I hate him, he seems like an alright guy, at least to his kid..."

M: However, K. Rool does remember one thing: he left his bazooka in that underwater temple where he found the Emerald Diamond!

L: His eyes go wide at the realization. "Oh, damn it! We have to go back, I forgot my bazooka down underwater!"

M: All the Kremlings turned to look at him.

""But Kapitan, why did you say you were going back underwater for your bazooka if you only went down to save that turtle with spikes on its shell?" one of the Kremlings said, confused.

L: "I, um... I got distracted. I did go down for the bazooka, but I figured I'd help out that kid as well, and I just ended up forgetting."

M: "But Kapitan, you can buy yourself a bigger and cooler bazooka with the Emerald Diamond!" commented one of the Kritter.

L: "I could, you're right... Alright, nevermind! I was hoping to upgrade from that old thing anyway!"

M: ""Yes, we never told you, but we always thought you had to get rid of that ugly, rusty bazooka," admitted one of the Kremlings.

L: "Honestly, now that I think about it, yeah. That thing was, what, 30 years old? I've been lucky that it never exploded when I tried to fire it."

M: ""Yes, but let's go back to Crocodile Island and celebrate that we have the Emerald Diamond," said the same Kritter who had redone the map.

L: "For sure, that first. There's so much we'll be able to get with all the money from that!"

M: The ship turns around and heads for Crocodile Island, but what K. Rool knew was that he would never forget this underwater adventure.

[RP LOG] A wedding, a rescue, and a defeat
