Note: Her magic is old, not the polished incantations of academies but the marrow-deep craft of bone, blood, and lunar timing. Thornsong works beneath full moons and eclipses, tracing sigils into soil with claw or blade. She understands the language of sinew and spirit. To her, flesh is not fixed—it is a garment, a story temporarily worn.

Note: Animal shapeshifting is her most visible talent. She slips into fur and fang as easily as others change clothes: wolf for the hunt, crow for watchfulness, elk for silent movement through dense woodland. Each form is not mimicry but communion. She studies the creatures she becomes, honoring their instincts even as she bends them to her will.

But her longevity comes at a cost.

Note: Thornsong preserves her youth through forbidden rites—ritual cannibalism practiced sparingly and with ceremony. It is never random hunger. Whether this belief is wholly true or partly superstition no longer matters; she has remained unaged for decades, perhaps longer.

Note: Despite the darkness surrounding her, Thornsong is not senselessly cruel. She operates by a personal code shaped by wilderness law: balance must be maintained. Predation exists, but waste is sin. She sees herself less as a monster and more as a necessary shadow—something that culls rot so forests may breathe.

Note: Socially, she is distant. People intrigue her, but she keeps them at arm’s length. Relationships are complicated when one outlives generations. When one knows that affection can dull instinct. She speaks softly, often in metaphor, as if translating thoughts from a language older than speech.

Note: The moon is her anchor. Its cycles ground her rituals and temper her power. During waning phases she grows introspective, almost melancholy. Under a full moon she is vibrant, electric, eyes gleaming with predatory clarity. Thornsong exists between reverence and fear. Villages tell stories of her as a cautionary tale. Hunters leave offerings at forest edges just in case. She does not deny the rumors. Mystery is protection. If she feels guilt, she buries it deep. If she feels loneliness, she transforms it into ritual. To live as long as she has, one must shed more than skin.
