Character Sheet for Pansy Lue
Character Description
Pansy Lue grew up in the long shadow of the Tye family name—close enough to be counted among them, but never quite close enough to share in their polish, prestige, or deep-pocketed ease. A Ninetales by blood and bearing, she carries the same natural elegance her cousins do, but where they were groomed for salons, galas, and carefully curated reputations, Pansy was raised in a louder, busier household where refinement was a luxury rather than a requirement. The Lue branch never struggled outright, but they didn’t have the wealth to sand down every rough edge. As a result, Pansy developed with less supervision, less pressure to be perfect, and far more room to be herself—brash laughter, blunt honesty, and all.

Background/History
Note: Among the Tyes, she’s the “unpolished” cousin. She speaks a little too freely, lounges a little too casually, and has a habit of rolling her eyes at etiquette she finds pointless. Formal events see her tugging at stiff collars, whispering jokes at the wrong moment, or sneaking out early for fresh air and something stronger than polite tea. She doesn’t resent her cousins’ refinement, but she doesn’t imitate it either. Where they glide, she strides. Where they charm with poise, she charms with candor. Pansy’s manners are situational at best, and while older relatives occasionally sigh at her lack of decorum, it’s difficult to stay annoyed for long—she’s too warm, too genuine, too unapologetically alive.
Note: What makes Pansy stand out is that her rougher edges aren’t careless—they’re sincere. She doesn’t perform refinement because she doesn’t see the point in pretending to be someone she isn’t. Instead, she wins people over through approachability. She laughs loudly, compliments freely, and speaks her mind without the careful double-layered phrasing her wealthier kin rely on. Many who meet her find that refreshing. She’s easy to talk to, easy to trust, and far less intimidating than a typical Ninetales from a well-known family. Her lack of polish becomes its own kind of charisma: disarming, lively, and real in a way high society often isn’t.
Note: Still, beneath the relaxed exterior, Pansy is keenly aware of the gap between her branch of the family and the Ty es. She’s been underestimated at formal gatherings, talked over in rooms where pedigree matters more than personality, and occasionally treated like the charming but lesser cousin. Rather than grow bitter, she’s leaned into what makes her different. She’s practical, adaptable, and socially flexible—equally comfortable at a formal banquet or a rowdy afterparty. She knows when to clean up and behave, but she also knows when to kick off her shoes and stop pretending.
Note: Pansy Lue may never embody the pristine refinement expected of her lineage, but she brings something the Ty es sometimes lack: warmth without pretense. Her fire burns a little wilder, her laughter a little louder, and her charm comes not from perfection, but from the easy confidence of someone who never felt the need to be.
