I have some updates concerning health of my hand. I am diagnosed with the De Quervain syndrome. That is a painful condition causing inflammation of the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist, commonly caused by repetitive overuse. Doctor said that is professional illness and it will take some time to treat. After getting steroid injections it actually got much better. I can use my hand as usual but just have to be careful about it. I will also go to the physiotherapist tomorrow and probably do hand exercise.

Whole situation made me rethink my habits that are unhealthy. I switched drawing on bed to the desk and sitting with correct posture. I got myself ergonomic mouse and eevee hand rest (which is too big to use but is very cute looking plush non the less). When I plan to draw, I try to not make my hand tired beforehand. Usually I draw for very long sessions, so I do some breaks now. I wear orthosis at night so that my wrist don't bend in weird angles. I also got myself some 1000 pieces puzzles and mostly use my left hand (my plan B in case of emergency) to solve it. Overall situation is positive, just gotta be smart about it!

I'm glad you have a proper diagnosis and that treatment is already showing good results. Wish you the best of luck.

Something I've noticed for myself. When I draw with a digital stylus it tends to strain my hand quite a lot, but drawing with pencil and paper is a lot easier on my hand for some reason. I'm not really sure why. I probably just tend to hold wooden pencils differently.
