An unlikely pairing by all accounts. What was supposed to be a fluke matchmaking, done almost as a prank just to get Ari to mellow out, turned into something far more involved beyond anyone's expectations. It was widely known within the Wolford family how enamored Steven was of this fascinating reptile. The fact she was the daughter of the Arbiter (Geral von Terreiko), the one person who probably did damage to their family the most, was of little consequence when he saw how much Ari despised him and did not want to follow in his footsteps. What greater revenge than to turn that hate around and blossom it into love? Steven was willing to take the chance. It wasn't until Ari was at the very end of her rope that she came to the realization that she felt the same, admitting her love for Steven despite all the difficulties that they'd face together.
It wasn't long before they got married and had little hatchlings of their own. How this was possible is reserved for those who know of what went on behind the scenes with Mereliah, Alacoth and Ahya. Still, they made a new life for themselves as the newly crowned emperor and empress of Talkar. With Roanhannon and many other advisors at their backs in support, they led the country into a new renaissance. Despite their many new obligations and required events they had to attend to daily, they always made a little time out for each other - be it a walk along the river path or just cuddling in and watching a film. Every moment was precious together as husband and wife.
