In retrospect, using encore on a pokemon that had just used minimize wasn’t Noc’s brightest idea. The Anthro bird hadn’t been able to do much but watch in horror as his fully trained team was reduced to the size of specks right before his eyes, each one no taller than one quarter of an inch. To make matters worse, shortly before he could attempt to escape using his Abra’s teleport, he had been hit with minimize as well, soon leaving him as small as the rest of his team had gotten, now all of them just meager specks lost in the grass of a semi-abandoned riverside trail.
Still, his rapid shrinking couldn’t stop his last pokeball from releasing a somewhat drowsy and confused Abra into the now empty trail. Both Noc and the rest of his team were treated to the towering sight of who had been until this very day the scrawniest member of the team, an unremarkable level four Abra whose only purpose was teleporting, and any other hidden machine moves his trainer required. Now this very same HM slave stood before them as a titan big enough to crush mountains under his two-toed talons.
Abra looked around in confusion for a moment. He could still sense traces of his trainer and team as well as an extra pokemon which they were no doubt fighting moments ago. Nevertheless, he couldn’t see them anywhere. No matter how hard he tried, he could only feel tiny trace amounts of psychic energy around him, not the usual amounts he had become accustomed to. That’s why he concluded that they had probably gone for a stroll and left him there to guard their stuff, given how Noc’s bag and belongings were sitting on the ground a couple of feet from Abra.
The next couple of hours were rather uneventful for Abra. He just sat there waiting for his trainer to return, unaware of the fact that both his trainer and his teammates were currently around him, some extremely close even, all trying to get his attention to no avail.
After some more waiting Abra started to feel a bit thirsty. The summer sun had been beating down on him all morning and he was starting to feel it. Looking again at Noc’s bag, he could spot some cans of his favorite brand of soda inside. Abra knew that he wasn’t allowed to mess with his trainer’s stuff, but he guessed that since he was doing such a good job guarding the bag, he deserved a little treat as compensation. However, he could have never guessed how drastic the consequences of him just walking to the bag would be for the rest of his team.
In the meantime, the different members of the now shrunken team, trainer included, had been trying to catch Abra’s attention for hours now. Some had tried to attack his talons, others had climbed on top of grass blades and waved at him, and others had opted to just yell at the towering yellow giant. Unfortunately, all these attempts were met by either Abra not looking their way, him not reacting at all, or in the worst case scenario, reacting too much. This had been the case of Noc’s Decidueye, once double Abra’s size, now smaller than a gnat. He had been flying circles around the psychic’s head attempting to communicate with the titan. Unfortunately, this was met by him nearly getting swatted on a couple of occasions before accidentally flying too close to Abra’s muzzle and being unknowingly inhaled. This had been a hard blow to their efforts, but things would soon get worse for them.
Indeed, the moment Abra started moving, all the shrunken pokemon and their trainer fell into a panic. Dealing with a stationary giant was one thing. On the other hand, a moving giant was a much more dangerous thing. To make matters worse, they were right in the path of Abra, between the psychic pokemon and the bag. They didn’t get too much time to react. In a matter of seconds, the sky was replaced by the yellow expanse of Abra’s now gigantic sole, rapidly descending upon them in a deafening world-ending crash.
Some of Noc’s fastest pokemon managed to dodge the incoming foot by the skin of their teeth, leaving them behind in a cloud of dust as Abra kept advancing towards the bag. The other members of the team were not so lucky. They got crushed by tons of flesh and left partially buried in a deep footprint. Nevertheless, it was Noc who got the shortest end of the stick. By virtue of being at the right place in the right time, he had gotten stuck to the heavy yet pliable skin of Abra’s foot after being flattened by it, thus becoming an unwilling passenger of the yellow colossus. Just the short distance to the bag meant a few nigh-bone-breaking stomps for the poor anthro bird.
Things didn’t get any better for the tiny trainer once Abra got his drink. Looking around and still not seeing any signs of his team, Abra decided to take a short walk around the area by the riverside. Now that he had quenched his thirst a bit, he could actually enjoy the landscape around him as he walked along the trail. He even saw a few friendly wild pokemon on the way. Strangely enough though, he could feel his total experience faintly increasing which made no sense since he wasn’t fighting anyone. Nonetheless, he concluded that it was probably just an effect of the soda, its ingredients making him slightly stronger. This of course, couldn’t be any further from the truth, but only his trainer would know it. Speaking of which, the tiny purple speck still stuck to Abra’s worn foot had blacked out after the sixth step. It would take him a few more days before he could get noticed by the massive psychic pokemon, and a bit longer to get used to the new awkward team dynamic with his new “ace”.
Noc had captured Abra with the intent of making use of his teleporting abilities or even teaching him a few HMs. Instead, he had become the unwilling trainer of an Abra capable of using stomp…
