Wartortle could have sworn that he wasn’t so tiny when he was just a mere Squirtle, but he could always be misremembering. After all, it had been so many years. Still, he found it intriguing and endearing just how all three starters seemed to be itching to play with his paws. Not being used to so much attention, the flustered blue pokemon could do nothing but acquiesce in the demands of the speck-sized pokemon before him. In a sense, he felt pretty amused about the idea of being comparatively so big. He could only wonder just how massive he must look from the starter’s point of view…

Unbeknownst to him, however, he had completely misunderstood the starter’s intentions. The micro pokemon were more focused on trying to get his attention rather than pampering him. Well, with the exception of Bulbasaur who just went with the flow. That left a very furious Charmander squirming between his toes and an equally puzzled Squirtle standing before the titan, not sure on how to proceed when faced with the towering monoliths of Wartortle’s tired stompers. This might as well be their biggest challenge yet.

I made a poll on bluesky between Squirtle and Wartortle and the lovely, big, blue oaf ended up winning. Vaguely related to the starter squad series. I wanted to draw something about them after binge-watching the whole thing thanks to a good friend.
