Character Sheet for Tom Moreno
Character Description
Tom is a Dachshund-Beagle about Mark's age. He's significantly taller than Mark, though perhaps a little bit lankier. Tom isn't unfriendly, but he is quite shy and not very talkative. He isn't Avoidant like Mark either--he is not antisocial, just socially inhibited by his mood disorders and low self-esteem.
Personality
Nice, although seemingly sad sometimes. Tom is fairly shy, like Mark, and can sometimes be quietly questioning of the value of his own existence. Tom is not Avoidant like Mark--he does not specifically dislike socializing with others, he only feels insecure about it because he worries that what he did might upset their judgement.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes reading, drawing with Mark, listening to Music, and watching movies with a friend
Dislikes Bullies, fighting, depressive thoughts and anxiety
Favorite foods: Hot dogs, Tacos, unsweet Ice Tea, Mint-chip ice cream
Background/History
Tom's quiet, calm, usual demeanor belies a troubling mental state: Tom is a chronic depressive whose feelings of low self-worth and critical bleakness have resulted in suicidal thoughts... and attempted actions. The cause for this is distressingly unclear-- Tom's family was unabusive, his parents supportive, his brother playful and friendly. His school life, before his attempt, was non-toxic: he had friends, and very few other students picked on him or hurt him. By all accounts, Tom's life was decent. It is a disheartening mystery then why, nine months ago, Tom attempted to end that life, to the ultimate mortification of his friends and family.
Now Interned at "Tempered Trails" reform school, Tom continues to be minded at all times by a "Buddy"-- a more well-adjusted classmate who serves as a room-mate and a watcher during off-hours for a more troubled or in-danger student. Tom may not have made any threats to his own life since coming to Trails, but he still needs to have an eye kept on him. Maybe making a new friend in this place might eventually make him feel better about his life.

Has a tendency to wear somewhat baggy clothes like Mark sometimes, although this is not because of personal body shame--it's just what he likes. He also wears t-shirts and shorts sometimes. He never wears hats or hoods.
