New year, new me - says the dog! But not really, no. Unless???
Anyway, word time. I stumbled upon that song about a year ago, and something like this image - set, outfit, hairstyle and all that - immediately manifested itself in my braincell. I didn't think much of it because it actually contained humans, but very recently I figured... what if dog?? And there's your answer I guess. She's so cuuuuuuuuute
I promise I say this with nothing but love in my heart, but that song is so meaningless and stupid that at first I thought Robin Scott was being ironic. But apparently It Just Is Like That. And that's okay. It's a fantastic, quirky popculture artifact. Sounds great and unique, and it managed to inspire me quite a bit! Really wanted to convey that pop vibe in everything here, and I think I did! Like a still from the music video that never was.
Also, this piece offered me none of my typical comfort zones - everything was a challenge, despite (or because of??) the simplicity, and it's interesting how it was in a constant state I can only describe as "mess" - everything changed all the time and felt very beautifully fluid. I've never worked that way before, great stuff.
That dress went through something like 10 iterations from a couple of different eras until I finally hit that '70s vibe just right lmao
Starting the year with a bang is OUT. We startin with a POP now. Ain't nobody got the energy for bangs (except for Jinjing-Yu, just look at that hairstyle). Posting this one in full size for everyone ever, to start the year right. <3
Enjoy! :D

The pose and colors in the thumbnail reminded me of your old "Draw me if you love me" Jinjing-Yu render from dA. So I went to look at it again only for it to be missing from your gallery?? Did something happen?

The song "Pop Musik" is actually a reflection of Robin Scott's years in the music business between about 1966 - 1979 (when the song was released), and could easily be a reflection of his post-hit status as a "one hit wonder" (or to put it bluntly, his record company shafted him, royally). He's still active, from time to time. He's actually one of the lucky ones in pop music: he owns all the rights, which is no easy feat, to all of his music, production & songwriting, from 1966-present, which includes at least 7 albums (including the three under Sire/MCA, between 1979-1983).

Honestly the more I think about it I feel like the video is a commentary on pop music and how it's a vapid and disposable genre at times. The casual tossing of 45's and detached gaze of everyone on camera, it was a warning of what was to come.
