BTS:
This one took a lot longer than I planned. Reason being, writer?s block, overwhelmed with college projects (which is no longer an issue), and a few moments of feeling unmotivated. Which is funny, this VN is my favorite to work on.
Anyway, the reason I updated this one, because you asked for it. Now, before you start making more demands, let me explain. When I first worked on the first Tails VN. A lot of people were requiring certain girls to be in the VN. At the time, I had no plan to expand the harem. However, thinking about there are some girls who should have been in the VN. But I few things stopping it from happening. I am (and still is) picky about my Tails ships. Especially in this VN project. Here are the three rules regarding creating harem:
1. Girls must have a connection to a girl in Sonic?s harem (basically be the Tails to their Sonic).
2. The ship must exist before the VN creation.
3. I must like the ship.
While most suggestions and choices don?t break the 2nd rule (Because it?s Tails), most suggestions break the 1st and 3rd rule. None of the chosen girls broke the 3rd rule.
About the Cast:
Tails: Tails is the easiest protagonist to write for. Being a sleep-deprived and shy fox makes it easy for a romantic fan fic. Of course, he has moments of sassiness and times he acts like Sonic since Sonic is a huge influence on him.
Cream: Since Amy was the first girl added to Sonic?s harem, it was only natural for Cream to be the first girl added to Tails? harem. I always see Cream as Amy?s Tails. Plus, there is so much Tailream fan content. Even SEGA acknowledges it sometimes. When writing Cream, I had one rule: she is not allowed to cuss. Even during sex. Speaking of which, pre-dating Cream, she did know what sex was but was too naive to put two and two together about what causes arousal. During dating, she became more the same, but with some of Amy?s influences.
Marine: The second girl in Tails? harem. I have always seen Marine as Blaze?s Tails, even with Blaze?s connection to Cream in Rush. Plus, there are a few Tails X Marine fanfics and fan art. Not sure if anyone notices or acknowledges, but Marine?s dialogue is unique. For example, instead of "Hello" she says " ?ello". That?s my attempt at accent for Marine. Pre-dating Marine is a bit controlling and acts like a bold captain most. While she is shyer than Tails, she does a better job of hiding it. Marine is more the same when dating, minus the shyness. The shyness has dropped, and she is riskier regarding lewd moments with Tails. (The one thing she got from Blaze.)
Whisper: Since Sonic has Tangle, Tails will have Whisper as his third girl in the harem. If you?re wondering what the fanfic sold me on Tails x Whisper, it?s A Wolf?s First Experience by ThatOneTailsWriter(aka The Cyborg Fox). My version of Whisper has traits from that fanfic. Whisper is holding back her feelings, pre-dating. Any form of shyness and embarrassment comes from her mask slipping. But once she is dating, no reason to hold back. In her route/stories/timeline, any kink and fetish Tails has gained, Whisper is the sole reason for it. Also, at most, Tangle gives Whisper the push she needs. As a wingwoman should.
Milla: Like with Sonic, Tails?s 4th girl is someone from Freedom Planet. (If you haven?t heard or played it, do it. It?s a fun game.) It?s really perfect how much Team Sonic pairs up with Team Lilac. If a fan artists ship Sonic x Lilac, then there are 90% chances they ship Tails x Milla. The other girls have some dominating presence over Tails since they don?t approve of his bad habits of all-nighters (or their Marine) or their different levels of shyness. Milla, on the other hand, is writing to be like Tails. They know what others want without really thinking about it. It takes Sonic and Lilac to get the 2 out of the lab more often.
Cosmo: The fifth girl in Tails? harem and first extra. Let this get out way, she wasn?t part of the original harem because she doesn?t have a Sonic. Tails? harem was designed to parallel Sonic?s harem. Since she isn't anyone to be a Sonic to her, she wasn?t even considered to be in the original game. However, when I decided to add more to the harem, I knew Cosmo had to be the first pick for Tails. Even if I have to break the Sonic harem rule. Also, the rule about me liking the ship is the most important and I will never break it. (I will explain more in a later post.)
So, maybe asking, why put Cosmo in Sally?s group? No real reason. She just fits better with her. There is no theme with them. You can up one, just remember I have no theme in mind for the SATAM X girls. Too many girls of Tails? harem are shy in some shape or form. Cosmo, written to be bold. Since I want one girl who isn?t shy. Maybe her boldness comes from Sally, or it comes from Galaxina. Maybe she got it from her mother. The point is, she is bold pre-dating and dating.
Zooey: The last girl to be added to Tails? harem. Fun fact: Have I put Perci in Sonic?s core harem, Zooey would have been in Tails? core harem. Plus, I wanted to have the same species ship for Tails. Since she second TV show ship for Tails and I do like the Tails x Zooey, screw the first rule. When forming the 6th group (The Odd One Out), I thought, why not make the girls unrelated to each other? So, Zooey?s first-time meeting Surge and Relic were the Spy scenes in the Visual Novel. So, the "Sonic?s harem" rule was thrown out the window for Zooey. I?ve made Zooey a medical student so I can write a story where someone can question Tails? health and know what they?re talking about. Plus, since all the other girls are in some from science field, why not make a future doctor? Yes, a doctor, not a nurse.
Cut Girls:
Honey: Reason: Not enough room in the harem.
Let?s be clear, all the cut girls for Tails were for the extra love update. The original game had no cut girls. Honey has some decent fan content with Tails. There wasn?t enough room for her. If I had done a 7-8 girl harem, then maybe. At least she has Mighty.
Sonar: Reason: Not enough room in the harem.
I dropped Sonar way before I did my first Kit x Sonar work. To be honest, I did want to use Tails x Sonar, since I think there is a low amount of content. I feel like it should have been higher. But there was no more room in the harem. Funny thing is, technically a Tails, but not a Tails to a girl in Sonic?s harem.
Rejected Girls:
Vanilla: Reasons for not considering her: So many reasons.
First of all, Vanilla was never on the table for Tails? VN. Not for core harem. Not for the extra girls. However, people tend to suggest her to me. Here are the reasons why she was never on the table:
1. I?m not doing insect content even if it?s girl-on-girl.
2. It?s going too close for cucking/NTR territory for my liking.
3. I don?t like Tails x Vanilla.
