And with that, Mark is out. Mark's parents are at the ends of their means as far as getting through to him--he's been trending toward delinquency for a while now, has made an utter ass of himself in society, and is not likely to be able to reconcile his reputation or social contact at all if he stays. Seeing no other choice, Marriene and Bart have decided to send their son to a psychiatric/behavioral reform school. "Tempered Trails" is a disciplinary reform school outside town in an isolated area that offers a close, but also closed-off environment for young people with severe challenges in social coping. Here, Mark will have access to low-volume, one-on-one instruction and interaction with staff whom have experience with people like himself. He will also have to deal with other young people who are as broken/damaged/potentially dangerous as he is. Can the councilors and teachers at this strange school help Mark break free of his antisocial tendencies, before they get him in real trouble? Can Mark help himself?
