Welcome! Have a pleasant day in Rolling Hills!
Yes, I had mentioned it before; when I got to the point in the Butterfly Farm story series that Sasha went to the tiny little farmer's community village of Rolling Hills, I had drawn out a little map of said village - just as a reference for myself (and it really was little; I drew it on that rectangular slip of paper you pull off when you open a fresh hardpack of cigarettes). And I also mentioned that I might just work it out further digitally.
Well, here we go! I just did! So here we have a very basic view of what the "main street" of Rolling Hills looks like, plus a bit of the rest; just part of the packed dirt square where the farmer's market is on Saturdays, as that is also where the church and doctor's office are, and on the opposite side the diner and the tavern. I have not added in the rows of little cottages where the inhabitants of this teeny little village live; those are further towards the left. And I have also not added the additions that are being built; the large woodworking workshop and store, for instance. Oh, and the sheriff's office is to the left of the diner; Mrs. Marm bakes some kicking donuts! >~_^<
Just in case that little list I put in the market square gets a bit unreadable due to the compression, I'll put it down here as well. So what are these buildings? Well!
1: the Rolling Hills Post Office
2: the Bradanz Garage
b: the fuel pumps
3: the Stebbins General Store
4: the Speel Hardwares store
5: the Greene the Grocer fruit and vegetable store
6: the Craftwork crafts store
b: the Chandlery
7: the Lawrence Loafs bakery
8: the Warmelink Weavers & Spinnery
9: the Jonesey Fine Meats butchery
10: the De Verley Dairy Products store
11: the Rolling Hills church
12: the Rolling Hills doctor's office (it actually very generously says 'clinic' over the door)
13: the Rolling Hillside Tavern & Bar
14: the Marm's Munchies diner
Don't drive too fast down that dirt road now! You'll be out the other side of the village again when you blink! >^_^<
(I'll also drop this in my Scraps by the start of the new year, but for now it'll go in the Minnalunan Tales folder)
