It's December. Christmas approaches at breakneck speed and, with it, come all the beloved traditions of the season. In Megan's house that means, among other things, reading from J.R.R Tolkien's Letters from Father Christmas, just as Megan's father did for her when she was a child, before decorating the tree. To add to the fun, the girls have decided to dress up as characters from the book. Specifically Megan as the North Polar Bear and Tia and Jalka as his mischievous nephews Paksu and Valkotukka. Dressing bears as bears might seem a little silly, but everyone had a great deal of fun and the tree is gorgeous this year.
Aw, thanks! I'm simply in love with how this turned out, and it brings back such happy memories, too. The whole thing about reading Letters from Father Christmas each year is taken from my own childhood, and my brother and I always had great fun decorating the tree. The only thing missing is Thurl Ravenscroft singing You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, and that's only because you can't capture sound with a drawing. But you can imagine it!

It'll be a bit lonlier than usual due to being the only one of my family left in the state, but ah well. Can at least still let myself down in nostalgia and giggle at the shenanigans I think up for my pups 🤭

Aw, that's a shame. It's always tough to be alone for the holidays. But I hope you can still have some fun, and you've still got everyone here! Grace and I will be thinking of you this holiday season!
