With this song, the clock effect helps, likewise the somewhat grim mysterious mood, giving a bit of hidden meaning behind the face which is associated with the character and his somewhat complex past.
It is calming, but there is a feeling of finality in this song. The clock effect also somewhat gives off this mood, as if as though time is indeed running either non stop or about to end.
The song has an ancient feel to it, which works for the character who can be considered ancient to some degree. Though it does not quite capture the playful side of Maverick, as it seems to focus on the other half of his personality; a very personal theme from the sounds of things.
