Here's a peak into the Day 2 Day Donovan universe. Everyone is a few years older and as such Tails here is naturally taller. However, is he any less of a loser? No, absolutely not. You could say it's worse.

Jerall, his science rival, out does him at every turn. It was his day to show off his science project to the Station Square Expo and he was certain he'd snatch victory this time.

Nope. He got trounced.

When a scientist can't comprehend something their mind breaks and suddenly they think 1 + 1= Banana. Tails ends up stripping to his undies and does the "Mind-Break Dance" in front of the crowd, having gone insane due to not being able to comprehend his loss. Amy and Charmy got too close, trying to stop him, and they suffered the consequences. Knocked down and out of their clothes as well, they're flat on the stage with their big butts and undies showing off to everyone. Amy's are pretty childish and girly. Charmy's are also pretty childish... and girly. Oh dear.

Cosmo can't stop staring at the shaking butt and the wibble-wobble of this teenage Tails' tiny wee wee. Sonic doesn't often get the chance to make fun of someone ELSE'S tiny little nub. And Fiona is Fiona. She has no love for Tails and revels in his failures. And what a failure it is.
