The day had not been that bad for a change. There had been some problems with the deadlines that had to be pushed back because of the troubles with the server, but that company Phoebe had recommended, Minnadot Systems, had done excellent work, and pretty darn fast as well, for one, and the clients had fortunately all been understanding about the problems they'd had to deal with. Except for Teevis International, but then again, they always had to complain about something.
Leaning back in her chair, Jennifer took off her reading glasses and drew in a deep breath. One that was filled with the lovely scent of passionflowers coming from the little bromeliad-in-pot air purifier on her desk. That had been such a good idea, and it worked so amazingly well. Especially because it also annoyed her direct colleague Ted; that alone made it worth it.
The yellow vixen looked at her computer screen and gave a slight, content nod of her head. See, now that was how that machine should be working. It had not once disobeyed or annoyed her, and she had actually managed to get all her work done. She closed her programs, shut the machine down and went down to the ground floor and the employee parking lot to get into her car and drive home. It had been a good day. They were rare.
Arriving home, it was immediately apparent Phoebe was not home yet; the driveway was empty. Jennifer made sure to park off to the side so there would be room for her sister's car later. She walked into the house and looked around for a note; Phoebe always left a note.
Sure enough, there it was, on the coffee table. Jennifer put on her reading glasses to read it.
"My sweet Jenny. I'm gonna be a little late tonight. So so sorry! Before I left I put a slice of lasagna in the microwave for you, you just have to turn it on. I love you, my sweet Jenny! Love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love!"
Jennifer chortled to herself. That was so typically Phoebe.
